Spenser Johnston Obituary

Oct. 20, 1990 - Sept. 11, 2014 Spenser was born in Hattiesburg and an honor graduate of Purvis High School where he played baseball and attended Mississippi State University, majoring in Engineering. Spenser was happiest spending time with his son, and being outside camping, fishing and hunting. "There wasn't a rock in this world that Spenser didn't want to give as a gift." Spenser is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Pawpaw William N. (Bill) Wilson. He is survived by his 2 year old son, Spenser Colton Johnston; mother, Teresa Wilson Pylant; father, Michael Todd Johnston; two brothers, Andrew L. Pylant and D. Scott Pylant; a sister, Alyssa Nichole Johnston; maternal grandmother, Memaw Merry Linda Wilson, paternal grandfather Poppa Rodney E. (Ronnie) Johnston and grandmother Nanna Betty Smith Johnston, step-mother Rebecca Johnston, step-father Lance Pylant and Colton's mother, Robin Rawls. Spenser's extended family and friends are too numerous to list but there are two that he especially loved and who meant the world to him, Amber Michelle Grenoble and James E. (Jim) Card. A celebration of Spenser's life will be held at Good Hope Baptist Church located at 331 Purvis to Oloh Road, Purvis, MS, Friday, September 19, from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m. and Saturday, September 20, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friends and family are invited to share memories during this time. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a college trust fund for Colton. Deposits to the Spenser Johnston Memorial fund account can be made at any Wells Fargo Bank Branch

No words can express the heartache & sorrow you feel. My heart aches for you and your family.
All I can say is that only God and prayers are going to be your strength. This is a pain that you are not able to carry alone. One of my favorite songs, "He is With Us" by Love & the Outcome: "Remember when
Your hope is lost and faith is shaken
Remember when
You wonder if you're gonna make it
There's a hand stretched out
Through your deepest doubt..."
