Charles R. Norman

August 14, 1944 - December 18, 2014 Charles Richard "Chuck" Norman, a native of Crystal Springs, Mississippi and longtime resident of Mobile, Alabama passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Ray Norman. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Whitley Norman; his three daughters, Tiffany Norman Chapman and husband Mark, Brandy Norman McAnnally and husband John, and Whitley Norman Bryars and husband Andy; five grandchildren Will and Lesley Chapman; Jack, Anna, and Tate McAnnally; and many relatives, teammates, and friends. Chuck was a proud graduate of The University of Mississippi where he lettered in both baseball and football and was a member of Kappa Alpha Order. After beginning his career as a coach at University Military School, he spent the next forty plus years as a real estate appraiser in the Mobile and Baldwin County area. He was an active member of the University of Mississippi Alumni Association, Ole Miss M-Club, National Association of Realtors, Appraisal Institute, and many other professional and civic organizations. He was an avid sports enthusiast and was involved with the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic, Senior Bowl Committee and Crichton Optimist Club. He most enjoyed being a doting grandfather and cheering at his grandchildren's sporting events. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, December 22, 2014. Services will be held at Christ United Method Church and will begin at 1:00 with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time. The family would like to extend its sincere appreciation and gratitude to the many physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the UMS-Wright Foundation or Christ United Methodist Church.
