Vale Zelda I remember her as a self educated person - someone who thought deeply and expressed herself clearly and assisted others to think. She was extremely courageous but also very caring. She and Bon Hull and Alva Geicke. They were full people. In those early days of the women's movement in Melbourne all comers were accepted. You weren't free of criticism and there were no passengers but you were invited to share your mind, were listened to and we valued each other. That was very important for a lot of women. It certainly was important for me. And Zelda was a leader who epitomised what we were trying to do.

An inspiration to so many of us younger ones in the Women's Liberation Movement both in her activism and through her autobiography. In remembrance of Zelda alone we cannot let anyone propagate the myth that the 1970s Women's Movement was a middle class affair! A fighter and a true working class heroine.

My particular thanks and memories are for Zelda sharing her life and agreeing to be interviewed for our movie "For Love or Money: a History of Women and Work in Australia".

Heartfelt condolences to her loved ones.

To Zelda's family. My condolences for the death of Zelda who always spoke of her family with love. She was a great Australian and women in this country owe her a great debt for the advantages and privileges they now have. She worked tirelessly for a better Australia and was always on the right side of history. I was honored to call her a sincere and feisty friend.
