Betty Scanlon

1933 - 2018

Scanlon, Betty Jean Swartz Creek Age 84, died June 7, 2018. Funeral mass will celebrated 12 PM Tuesday, June 12 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek, Fr. Louis Ekka celebrant. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 5-9 PM Monday with a 7 PM Rosary at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Visitation will also be 11 AM - 12 PM at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to S.A.D. ( Shelter Animal Donations) 8075 Linden Rd., Fenton MI 48430 or the American Heart Association. Betty married George on November 10, 1951. She is survived by her children, Donald Scanlon of Tukwila, WA, Diane (Eric) Kuuttila of Farmington Hills, Doreen Scanlon of Flushing. She was the beloved granny of Amanda and Alex Scanlon of CO, Nicholas (Emily) of CA, Kari, Wesley, and Robert Kuuttila of Farmington Hills. She is also survived by her siblings Robert Donaski, Genevieve Houston, Elaine Ransom and Alexander Donaski; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her husband George; her son Douglas and parents Alex and Virginia (Karkoski) Donaski. She loved spending time with her family especially on summer vacations on the Great Lakes. In addition she enjoyed working in her flower beds growing spectacular iris's. She also had a passion for bingo which she often referred to as her job! The family would also like to thank the staff of Western Hills Living, Beacon Square, and Heartland Hospice.
