JOAN KIRBY Obituary
Devoted mother, grandmother and wife
Joan Janet Kirby (nee Remuzzi) passed away Nov. 3, 2018, at her home in Middletown, N.J.
Joan was raised in Midland Beach and attended St. Peter's Girls High School. She lived most of her life in Staten Island with her family in New Dorp.
In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, she worked as an office manager and bookkeeper for Pat Fusco Associates. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and feeding her grand-dogs.
She was an avid Brooklyn Dodgers fan (until they moved to California) and enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, N.J.
She was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish in New Dorp.
She was married to Hugh Kirby for 58 years before his passing in 2016. She is survived by her three children, Kevin, Christopher and Mary; grandchildren, Christopher, Jenna, Cailey and Jaclyn; and daughters-in-law, Patricia Siciliano Kirby and Lorraine Allatin Kirby.
Family will receive friends on Monday evening, from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., at Hanley Funeral Home in New Dorp. The funeral service will be Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady Queen of Peach Church in New Dorp with interment at Moravian Cemetery.

To my Joanny, i will always love you. Such a sweet lady, enjoyed being your aide to the very end. You made my stay with you one I will never forget. Will tell stories about you to my children one day. Kevin, Chris and Mary thank you for allowing me to take care of your mother, it was truly an honor for me. Love you three very much.
