Zelma White

1918 - 2018

White, Zelma Age 100, Went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Superior Woods Health Care Facility with her loving family at her side. She was born June 2, 1918 in Britton, MI, the daughter of Henry and Grace (Gleason) Pocklington. On June 24, 1940, she married the love of her life, Charles A White and he preceded her in death in November 2002. She worked for Peninsular Paper Co. (later known as Crown Vantage) as a secretary for 47 years. Zelma attended Dexter Gospel Church in Dexter before moving to Ypsilanti to live with her daughter. She loved her family, friends and her church family and stayed in touch with many of them. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Embert Pocklington and daughter Sharon L. Young. Survivors include: one daughter, Virginia (Gary) Grosshans of Ypsilanti; grandchildren, Anthony (Tracie) Callaway of Kalamazoo, MI, Tracy Grosshans of Ypsilanti and Lori Parkin of Ypsilanti; great-grandchildren, Emma, Elayna and Max Parkin and Kelsee Haskin; and a large extended family on her husband's side. She will be remembered fondly as a kind, caring and God loving person. She was so loved and will be greatly missed by many. Cremation has taken place. No service is planned.
