William A. Burns

William A. (Bill) Burns, age 76, passed away peacefully on June 26th, 2019 in Birmingham, AL. Bill believed that the Lord blessed him immensely during his life. He was a loving father of two daughters and a son. Prior to his retirement, he was a successful software engineer who owned several businesses throughout his career. After his retirement he enjoyed spending time with friends at O'Hnery's Coffee, walking with his dog, Charlie, working in his yard, and learning about new technology. Bill was born in Magnolia Arkansas of his parents Wilming Legene Burns and Ruby Orine Owen Burns who preceded him in death. He grew up with two brothers, Jim Burns and Robert (Bob) Burns. Bill is survived by his children Deanne Howell (Kevin), Carley Marie Burns, Owen Peterson Burns (Megan); his grandchildren Emily Louise Howell, Samuel Randolph Howell, Olivia Helen Howell, and Wyatt Gabriel Burns; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews who loved him. A memorial service will be held for Bill on August 9th, 2019 at 11:00am in the chapel of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Mtn Brook. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, an organization in which Bill was passionate about.
