Thank you Peter for your tremendous dedication to the work of the Clerical Workers' Union through your research and knowledge of the history of the Trade Union Movement. In addition, your work as a Mediator ensured that many working people received a fair deal. Thousands of people have benefited from your expertise, and we give you our sincere thanks.

Peter was a wonderfully humane and intelligent person, who made a huge contribution to the history of unions, working people and the Labour Party. There are far too few people with such interests let alone his knowledge. Peter was always a warm and supportive mate; and we will miss him. Warmest sympathies to Sue and the whanau

I have the fondest memories of Peter. He had a big heart and an enquiring mind, he was a good listener and an excellent writer, a lover of history and a champion of those who suffered exploitation, oppression and discrimination, and he loved to laugh.
