to Bruce
I remember the young years when we were groovy
we went to `High Society´ can you recall the movie?
We waltzed we fox-trotted around the room
the bible class meet-up was over too soon.
Racing home so fast in your blue Austin 30
I laughed at the joy ride miles per hour was 40.
Our beach trips were so full of fun
we´d go with our mates and soak up the sun.
The motor races came around every year
although so noisy we didn´t care.
I won´t forget those days in our teens
so innocent we were not so long ago it seems.
We lived our own lives different paths we took
now both our names are in an anthology book.
I hope your heavenly journey is peaceful and bright
I will watch all the stars and look for you each night.
Farewell dear mate say hi to my Dad,
and to all the loving people we were lucky to have.

I had the pleasure of meeting Bruce, as his first cousin, for the first time in January this year. He and Carole very kindly hosted a BBQ at their lovely home to introduce me to his sisters and another cousin. We kept in touch throughout the year and developed a great relationship. I will miss him greatly. My thoughts and love is with Carole and the rest of the family at this very difficult time.

Very sorry and shocked to hear of Bruce's passing. An old, very close primary and college school friend of Don from their Levin days, and rugby teammate for Horowhenua College Old Boys. Then later our friendship picked up when we both lived in East Coast Bays. Our deepest sympathy to Carole and family. RIP Don and Joy Lockyer
