Great memories of Kevin when (years ago) he came regularly to shoe our horses on the farm near Raetihi. Very gentle with the animals, a kind, well-respected and knowledgable man too. Our sincere condolences.

I met Kevin nearly 40 years ago when he started shoeing my horses in waikanae.. loved by the horses, dogs, and even the neighbour's pet Magpie. Today Pat continues the family legacy. He is so like his father.. an incredible knowledgable farrier who shares his passion for his craft, is loved by the horses and dogs and is a kind generous man.

Oh the memories of a man with a quirky sense of humour and a love and polish for his profession. Clocking up literally thousands of kilometers, travelling in the service and care to horses of all sizes including our little dynamite in his gig, Tojo. Great friend of my late friends Lorna and Bob Johnston of Turakina. Mariea my sincere condolences to you and your family. May he Rest in Peace.

Kevin was such an inspiration, turning up to do our horses when Nathan couldn´t come. In his 80s. What an affinity he had with horses. We admired and respected him but Dali truly loved him.Our respects and sympathy to Nathan and Michelle and all the rest of his family.

Condolences and thoughts to the Schimanski family. Wow, a life well lived but a tragic end. . . A true legend. He was a true mentor to the shepherds and farmers he worked with. I remember his easy manner, good nature and canny ability to settle nervous or stroppy horses. It´s been a wee while since I saw Kevin, but good memories of great people remain. Ride easy Kevin.
