Evelyn Stroud

Evelyn Mae Loveless Stroud, 82, of Statesville, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Gordon Hospice House.

Evelyn was born on July 19, 1943, in Elizabethton, Tennessee, to the late Chrisley Lidge Loveless and Tempie DeLoach Loveless. She married Ruben Franklin Stroud who passed away in 2016.

She was a founding and current member of Countryside Baptist Church. She loved working in the yard with her rose bushes and she loved to bake.

Left to cherish her memory are son, Ruben Dwayne Stroud (Jeannie Hamby); daughters, Sandy Stroud Bell (Francis) and Tracy Stroud Hall (Ken Crumley); sister, Alta "Gaye" Loveless; grandchildren, Moxie Stroud, Jaiden Stroud, Finn Stroud, Brandon Gregory, Janna Bell, Tiffany Carlson, and Taylor Chamberlain; and great-grandson, Oliver Gregory.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Leonard Loveless, Ray Loveless, and Jay Loveless.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 29 at Countryside Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Morris, Rev. Randy Goodin and Rev. James Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
