We Remember Them
At the rising sun and at its going down; We remember them.
At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter; We remember them.
At the opening of the buds and in the rebirth of spring; We remember them.
At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of summer; We remember them.
At the rustling of the leaves and in the beauty of the autumn; We remember them.
At the beginning of the year and when it ends; We remember them.
As long as we live, they too will live, for they are now a part of us as we remember them.
When we are weary and in need of strength; We remember them.
When we are lost and sick at heart; We remember them.
When we have decisions that are difficult to make; We remember them.
When we have joy we crave to share; We remember them.
When we have achievements that are based on theirs; We remember them.
For as long as we live, they too will live, for they are now a part of us as, We remember them.
In memory of Mark, the heroes of Flight 93, and all that were lost that day. Thank you for your great bravery and sacrifice.

To Mark and his friends and family members:
I´m remembering what bravery Mark and the rest of the passengers and crew members on Flight 93 had on September 11th, 22 years ago. It´s hard to believe that it´s been that long. It feels like yesterday, but also so long ago. The world has changed since then - for the better, an ed the not so good. If only we had the camaraderie now that we did in the days, weeks and months after this terrible tragedy. Thank you for your sacrifice.

Mark ... Today, 9/9/23, as we approach the 22nd year from when those extremely bad individuals decided it was OK to take another person's life, we remember the good in so many individuals like yourself ... How can we ever forget that terrible day and the bravery shown by you and so many individuals. Thank you to all the airplane crew, the fire fighters, the police officers, and all who made a sacrifice for others before themselves. We will Never Forget ! ... How can we ??? ... Mark .. much regards to your family and friends.

Dear Mark, we did not know one another, we never met, but I try and show up here to pay my respects every year if I can. What you and others on that flight did was nothing short of courageous! You saved the lives of so many that day. So, as one proud American who happens to be gay as you were, I thank you for your courage, your heart, your love of our country, even when it did not always return love to you during your young life. To me, that was the most patriotic of deeds and that has gotten me through some tough times over the years. Anyway, thanks once again; you and all those bands of angels of flight 93 will never be forgotten.

I have been learning about the details of 9/11 in my citizenship class for a while now. I have cried multiple times while understanding the gravity of your situation and what could've been going through your mind when this tragic occurrence became your reality. As a gay person myself, I cannot thank you enough for your bravery. You are an inspiration to the LGBTQ+ community, and you are a perfect example as to why people shouldn't treat us any differently. I will never forget you or your sacrifices.

You, along with all of your fellow passengers, are a true inspiration and are an example of what it actually means to be a hero. You had no obligation to do anything but you chose to anyway. You faced some adversities in life but you are remembered as a kind and loving man. Lastly, my love goes out to his family, friends, and those who played with Mark on the San Francisco Fog rugby team.

This is for Alice Hoagland, Mark's mom. I was shocked to realize that today was 9/11, and with that I think of Mark. I had never met him in R.E., but I knew you and again in 2019, I am mourning your loss today as I do every year on this date. I hope to see you again soon, as Colleen's family still lives in our home in R.E.

Mark did the right thing. I am sure he is missed by his loved ones and friends. He payed the ultimate sacrifice to save others, his life. He was one of only 44 people who died in the crash of United Airlines flight 93, but in this he saved thousands of others by making the pilot decide to crash the plane. His sacrifice will be remembered for many years if not until the end of the world.

Thought about you today..you are a special person. We met for maybe 10 minutes at the Bourbon Pub at Southern Decadence the week before 9/11/2001. You were visiting with a frend. We joked and cut up in those 10 minutes and you bought me a cocktail. Then we parted ways...but, as strange as it is, I remember it so well as I knew it was you on 9/11 that was a hero and I made sure to imprint the memory. Seems like yesterday. Just wanted to stop in and remember. Peace and love to your friends and family who are hurting on a much deeper level.

A Child is Born a Hero Becomes
A child is born
A mother ponders,
Child of innocence lays at the door
waiting to open and stand on their own,
Brightening the world of their future
joining with heart beat of others,
Their choices,
Their actions,
Their goodness and love,
Helps them find when their
heroism is required,
Love and fear all are combined
Yet heroism is found for protection of others,
A mothers cries,
Knowing her child of innocence leaving her for now,
But her heart is repaired when she come to realize
her child will always stand, as a teacher of granite,
Others unknown,
not completely sure,
follow the teacher of granite,
to be proud and and to be free.

To the Bingham Family,
I wanted you to know what our Middle School did for 9/11. The entire student body of over 1200 kids wore red, white and blue. They carried an American Flag and walked in silence out to the football field. We made a human peace sign, had a moment of silence and our chorus song the national anthem. We invited our local fire fighters, police, airline employees and local military to attend. Every child, teacher, and adult that came wore a ribbon with two people's names on the ribbon. We were able to represent every name of someone that died that day. I had Mark's name on my ribbon and I wanted you to know he was not forgotten. If you would like me to send you the link to what we did, I would be happy to do so.
