Happy birthday in heaven, you and your boyfriend Joseph were true heroes that day and are NEVER forgotten. I heard your voicemail to your sister Elsa, and I am so sorry for what you had to endure but it is clear you had a lot of love for her and your family. From what I have read, you sound like you were such a vibrant woman, full of life and passion with so many different talents. I hope you are at peace now, celebrating your special day. Thank you for your bravery and sacrifice.

Linda. Although I have never meant you, wasn't even alive the same time as you, I feel you were an amazing person. You seemed so talented and happy. After reading about you, I can always picture a smile on your face. You have such a successful and exciting vibe. You were the person that would make everyone else happy just by being there. All of the things you accomplished are so interesting. I mean Scuba Diving is super cool. Plus an EMT and a Lawyer, those are super hard careers and you managed to succeed in both. I know many people still think about you everyday because I read every single post on your page. May you rest easy. P.S. You and Paul seemed to be really close and I think that is the sweetest thing he posts and brings flowers every year for you.

17 Years ago today I rushed into work as the USA was under attack. I arrived at work and was met by my Sgt. who had two very official men in suits from the joint terrorism task force requesting that I bring them to your home in Greenwood Lake. I wasn't quite sure why we were going to your home but after learning as much as I could about you I understand now. Although I never got a chance to meet you I know what a remarkable woman you were. I often think about you especially on this day. Rest in Peace.

To the Family & Friends of Linda,
I am so sorry for the loss of such a special person in your life!
We often wonder when these tragedies happen; Why bad things happen to good people? You can find comfort in knowing that the causes of pain & sorrow were never Gods original purpose for families. Psalms 37:10 & 11, Isaiah 45:18. It strengthens us with hope that soon he will eliminate all the suffering we experience and restore peace & unity. He will not forget our Dear Loved Ones!
Sending Warm Greetings,

Dear Doris and Elsa,
Though so many years have passed, the losses of that day are ever fresh in my mind. With every memory, there is the memory of Linda; strong, brash, take no prisoners. I imagine her words upon hearing of the takeover. And I have no doubt she was at the front of the crowd taking back control of the aircraft.
Unfortunately is it the Lindas of the world we can least afford to lose.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Gronlund, Elsa, and other members of Linda's family:
For years, I have wanted to contact you, but could never quite find the right way, 'til today, when I found this website.
Linda and I met at a Bible study, held in the Amagansett Presbyterian Church, in 1972. From the Bible study, a musical group "The New Life Singers" was formed. I had the privilege of singing in the group with Linda, who was one of our featured guitarists. We sang in many venues around the East End of Long Island. Linda was a student at Southampton College and many in the group were attending or had already graduated from East Hampton High School. Later, the musical group disbanded, and I met Linda once again when she worked in the Admissions Office of Southampton College. Linda interviewed me, and was instrumental in my decision to enroll there (as a transfer student). It was wonderful to see Linda that day to catch up on old times, and discuss new ventures. Linda was soon to start law school in Washington D.C., and was looking forward to it. I was happy our paths crossed again, and we went to lunch in Southampton village to continue our visit. She moved to Washington D.C. and American University, while I graduated from Southampton College. Going back to our years in the Monday night Bible study as well as the singing group, I have photos of Linda that I'd like to share with you. I trust that you would all like to see them. I'd also like to apologize for waiting so long to contact you. Please contact me, if you'd like. Linda was a special friend. My memories of her live on. Thank you, God bless you.

Dear Mrs. Gronlund and Elsa,
First off, I apologize for not writing sooner although you were both in my prayers. I get back to Sag Harbor at least once a year from Managua, Nicaragua, where my husband (Rev.)Ken and our 2 kids have been in mission service since 1995. I appreciated your being my Sunday School teacher and have used you and Carrie D'Andrea of the East Hampton Presbyterian Church as examples of the importance of that role for children's spiritual and emotional development. So 40 years later, thank you! The other story I tell about you is when Ken came into your store to buy some socks in Aug. 1978 for our wedding the next day. You were so nice to him and he was halfway down the street when he remembered that he never paid for them. I was so embarrassed that my pastor husband to be would steal from my former Sunday School teacher! We still laugh about his nerves that day but you were great. I am sorry that never stayed in touch with Linda after we were kids, but heard things from time to time and knew that we both had a kind of curiosity that pushed us out of the "nest" to learn and try new things. Last night I finally had the courage to rent the video of United 93. I had never felt ready as I had seen it in our Managua store. I appreated the interviews with the two of you as well. It was very powerful for us to watch. I pray that you both have found your peace now. Ken and I have worked with the survivors of Casita Volcano mudslide that killed 3000 in 1998, so we have a special heart for those left behind. On Christmas Eve in this community of Santa Maria, we organized the children's acting out of the story, served dinner for 84, and had a pinata. Many of the children had not been born yet when that tragedy happened. To listen to Tamara, now 12, read the Luke test so well brought us all so much joy, remembering the 2 year old that we met in the shelter soon after the mudslide. May this Christmas time also be one of new beginnings for both of you, and give you a glimpse of the Heavenly Angels Song, where Linda is surely delighting in God's presence. Peace be with you all.
