John, I was deeply saddened to learn your story as I looked through all of your fellow passengers. You were already saddened, as you were on your way to retrieve your son, your wife had already passed, and you lived through one of the worst wars in history. If it were up to me, you would have been able to pass peacefully, instead of being killed in those attacks. I hope that you can now rest with your wife and son in the afterlife. God rest your soul.

John's story personally touched me because, John as a WWII veteran who fought for our country in one of the most gruesome wars of all time, lost his life in a terrorist attack on our own soil. John had defended his country with is a path I have seriously considered. He had retired and was ready for a peaceful end to his life, but did not get the chance. I'd like to thank you John for your service, and may you rest in peace.

Hey John,
It was so ironic that you were killed in the worst tragedy of this century after I learned that your son passed away in San Francisco.
But youre in heaven with him, and thank you for stopping al-Qaeda from successfully achieving a devastating fourth attack on a Washington DC landmark. Be proud that countless lives were saved!

To the Zykofsky Family and Mr. Talignani's Family,
I was good friends with Alan in college and remember him speaking so fondly of his loving Mom, step Dad John and his brothers. I was in such shock when I heard that Alan had died on his honeymoon, and then to have the tragedy of John's death on flight 93 as he was flying out to California after the car accident which claimed Alan's life. I am so sad for Valerie, Alan's wife and was in touch with her for a couple of years after I called when I heard of Alan's passing. I sent Valerie some pictures of Alan during our college years but I have never heard back from her. I pray she's doing well. Alan was such a fun- loving, generous, HANDSOME great guy. I'm sure that all 3 Zykofsky boys and their Mom were blessed also to have Mr. Talignani in their lives. Bless all of you, you are ALWAYS in my prayers, not just today on this dreadful anniversary.

Dear Talignani family-
How heartbreaking to read how John's life ended. Here, he was going to claim his son's body who was killed in a car wreck, & then John dies on Flight 93....so so sad. I can't believe that tragic turn of events. It truly breaks my heart. I hope & pray that John is reunited with his deceased son.
God called John home. There's no 2 ways about it. He is in a better place, I'm sure of. No more suffering for him. John is truly an American hero. Thanks for your bravery John. We will NEVER forget.
God Bless,

Dear Family of John,
I know it is very difficult to lose a loved one, especially like this, but God called him home. His job here was done. He was needed elsewhere, more than here.
My heart breaks every time I even think of 9/11 - but I know that God sent his angels to escort people home. I only pray that he sends me one when my job here is done.

Dear John,
You are in my daily prayers, as is my son, Stephen, your stepson, who was lost in Tower 1 of the WTC on Sept. 11th. It was a double tragedy that day for me, as we were still friends up until the end. I pray that God keeps you in his care.I know that you are in a better place, with your wife, parents and brother - and Steve.

Dear John,
Even though I never met you, I feel that I knew you so well through your dear wife, Selma.
Selma & I worked together at two different companies in New York City. Your Son Glenn also worked at one company with us.
Selma always spoke of you John and her three dear boys. I am sure that you are all happy together with the Angels in Heaven.
You and all those on that plane opn that fateful day will be remembered in history for the heroic act of bringing that plane down before its intended target. Countless of lives were spared that day because of you.
I am greiving for all of you, especially for your two sons that are missing their mother and father and brother.
I think of Selma often and remember all the good times we had, and particularly her super dry sense of humor.
God Bless You all. God Bless America.

I've read so much about lives filled with promise which were lost on September 11th, but your loss is something beyond all comprehension. Tragedy upon tragedy, upon tragedy. I choose still to believe in a benevolent God, who eventually lifts us all up out of this "valley of tears". Meanwhile, all we can do is struggle on, until, as Thomas More said, "we all meet merrily again in heaven."
May you be reunited with your brother, father, and all those you
love.

We are deeply sorry for our nation's loss of a John. May John's life and love live on in those who love him. I believe God cried deeply when He saw the evil that took the lives of His innocent children before their time. One by one they called His name and He reached for them. They were sheltered and protected from human pain wrapped in His arms. Cradled in His loving arms earthly cries became heavenly songs as angels were born. Our hearts cry with you in America's loss of a hero.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
