Ok, so a few years ago my sis Jacqueline Lyon along with her partner Peter told me they were going to New York for a holiday.
I asked them if they would lay some flowers at the WTC memorial site for me to honour the victims of that tragic day. Jacqueline and Peter kindly did something even better for me. They placed a USA flag with my name on it and placed it on one of the names at the memorial. Then took a picture of it and placed it into a photo frame.
the flag partially obscures the name of this particular victim. As the 20th anniversary is upon us I was determined to try and find out who this individual might be. Well I can now tell you I have indeed found this poor sole. He was aboard united airlines flight 175. I am so pleased to be able to put a face to the name that my flag was attached to. And as much as it may sound strange I feel a little closer connected to him. I will forever treasure my photo and remember that tragic day forever. In memory of Timothy Ray Ward may you rest in peace and may god be with all your family for eternity...❤❤

My thoughts and prayers continue on for Tim's family and friends.I knew Tim from Divisadero JR.High and MT. Whitney High School. I remember him as a great athlete who seemed to really enjoy sports. He was also dating one of my friends from track and cross country. He always seemed like a nice guy. From these tribute pages I can tell his life continued to touch others long after he graduated. In fact he still touches us today and will always be remembered! He is remembered on 9/11 and all through the year.-My dad who passed away in 2008 was also fond of Tim and took his death hard.My dad was a math teacher at Divisadero JR. HIGH.I hope to visit the memorial in NYC someday. For now, Tim's picture is in my family folder-on my desk top at work. Take care, one day at a time , until we meet again. Blessings, Karen (kc) Culver

From all I have read regarding Tim, I can see that it is unanimous that he affected many many lives in an overly positive way, and this only makes we wish I could have met him, and become acquainted with the warmness and kindness many others have spoken about. Tim truly sounds like a man who gave his love and friendship to all the people he encountered. I was only five when this tragic event took place, so it is needless to say that I was pretty clueless about what was going on. I only found out a year or so ago, that my mother's cousin was aboard one of the planes that day, and this came as a peculiar shock to me. I had never imagined that I had such a connection to the day's events, and I often find myself wondering about Tim, and how things could have turned out. It's a shame this is how it is. Love you Tim, regardless of the distance of time and land between you and I, keep good watch over us here on Earth, hopin' to meet you someday. Take care.

Tim was truly one of kind….I had the pleasure to go to SDSU with him and work with him at Rubio's. We shared some of our best times of our lives (football games, tailgates, Sunday football, poker, 21st b-day)…and boy could he cook, he loved it…the one thing that made Tim special was that he was always positive and caring….I miss him and I will always remember him…I send my deepest condolences to Tim's family, you can be extremely proud of the fact that Tim was a great human being…the world is less happy without him… it is of great resepct to have known him.

I offer my deepest sympathy to Timothy's family and friends. My community sponsored a Commemorative Star Service Project in remembrance of the victims of September 11, 2001 and I selected Timothy's star at random. In his honor, I did some volunteer work and made a donation to a foundation that provides food for children in need. I will think of Timothy each September 11.

I didn't know Tim well but spent nearly four years with him during high school. Mt Whitney had a large student body--over 2000--and was a busy place, but nearly 30 years on, those in his graduating class as-well-as the friends he made still cherish his memory! I pray this entry may give some solace to all those who love Tim; no life, however short, is wasted when it touches so many others!

My Dear Susie,
It's hard to believe that five years have passed since 9/11/01. I was thinking about you yesterday while watching and listening to the names of the victims being read at the WTC site. I heard Tim's name, and I wondered how you were doing. I hope you are well and healthy. I really miss seeing your beautiful face at Polinsky Children's Center! I saw you very briefly on the day that the Serenity Cottage was being dedicated, and I wished that I could have talked to you more. Oh well, at least I got to see you. I wish you would come back, if only for a quick visit. We recently moved to La Mesa, and I'm not sure if you are still here or not. Call me or E-Mail me if you want, OK? (619) 465-1325. You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.
I remember hearing that you had lost your son when I came to work that night to work the night shift. How incredibly sad I felt for you! I also attended Tim's memorial service at the Old Globe. I felt, after the service, that I personally knew Timothy Ray Ward, even though I had never met him. I know that he has a lovely and wonderful mother who adored and loved her son, and would have walked through fire for him and would have gladly died in his place on September 11th.
May God continue to bless you and keep you in the palm of His hand.
My love to you,
Karen Marie Chesnik (Nurse Karen)

I worked with Tim at Rubio's #2 (SDSU) way back when. He was such a sweet guy...fiercely loyal to his friends...the kind of guy who would come pick you up at the airport or let you crash on his couch without thinking twice. What a shock to get that phone call on the evening of 9/11/01. Here I am, 5 years later, and not one single day has gone by that I haven't thought of Tim. Reminders are everywhere; he will never be forgotten.
