I never knew you or Ken, but my Aunt Cim looks almost exactly like you with the smile and the blond hair along with Ken who looks like my Uncle Kent and every time I see or think of them, it reminds me of the two of you. I can't imagine what the final moments must have been like, but I now know you and Ken are in a much more beautiful and better place where you'll always be radiant and forever young.

The next time that you see them will be like a dream come true, you can enjoy them in a system of things where rightousness, love, peace, and happiness will prevail forever. I am so sorry for your losses.

It has been 10 years this September and I will never forget that horrific day. My husband turned 30 on that day and we spent the whole day at my office watching the television in horror of what had happened. Your mother-in-law, Joann, was the receptionist at the office where I work. A friend and I went to visit her at her home on Sept. 12 and she told us such wonderful things about you and Ken. I know how much you and Ken are missed and thought of every day!! May the two of you hold each other and rest in peace for eternity!!!

I found out today how Jen was no longer with us and I wanted to share some stories of her, I knew she had passed, but did not know the circumstances until today. I remember Jen when we were in jr high and high school together. She was one of my good friends at the time. We would sit in home room in 7th and 8th grade and laugh and giggle, plus we were in several classes together--Oh God, get us two together, who both loved to laugh uutt-ooo! I think that's what drew me to her, just wanting to laugh and have fun. Back then there was a "Dorothy Hamil" hair style which I "tried" to pull off. She called me "mushroom" or "smushmush" or "mushy" whatever hit her at the time. And the nickname stuck, no matter what hair style I got after that! It's funny how you can forget these things until something jars your memory. Jen's family moved away when she was in 9th or 10th grade, but she was only gone several months and when she came back for a visit she had the southern twang and it sounded awesome coming from her. I just said, "Jen you've only been gone 4 or 5 months and you've picked up the southern accent that quickly?!!!" I just laughed, as did she, hearing the difference in her accent. I think that was the last time I saw Jen, but I remember her smile and the sound of her laugh and her braces! She always seemed to want to joke around. And I remember this one distinct outfit she used to wear, which must have been her fave, a green and white checked shirt and green corduroys, whenever I think of her that's what I remember and her beautiful blonde hair, which I envied. I was honored to know Jen. My heart is heavy today, but she and others are truely American Heroes, she has my respect for what she and Ken and all the others who passed on that day went through and I will continue to keep her in my thoughts forever. Thank you for letting me share tidbits of my friendship with her. I hope this can give you some comfort, as you look back and can read about parts of her life with friends. I missed her then and I miss her now. RIP smiling angel, I hope to visit your 'memorial' at the Pentagon some day :)

Jen and Ken's story never ceases to touch my heart. We will never forget the sacrifices that they have made, and they will rest forever in our hearts.
My name is Kevin Nelson and I am a Boy Scout in Culpeper, VA, where Jen and Ken lived. I am planning a project to put in a new brick pathway through the Kennifer Memorial Garden in Culpeper, and I also plan on cleaning up the park and planting new plants to keep it looking beautiful. I figured since many who were close to them would see this page I would like to announce my plans to you here. Anyone who would like to help support this is welcome to contact me, by clicking on the Contact Me link at the bottom. I am honored to have the chance to work on this project in honor of Jen and Ken, to keep their memories intact for years to come.

Tomorrow marks the 9th anniversary of that tragic day, September 11, 2001, that changed our lives forever. It is a day that will never be forgotten and will always be remembered. Some of us were directly impacted and some indirectly. Here at DOT we all felt the loss of our three NYMTC colleagues, Ignatius Adanga, Charles Lesperance and See Wong Shum. Please keep them and their families in your thoughts.
Different people have different ways to memorialize and remember. No matter how you choose to reflect, give your family a hug, tell them you love them and let’s all be thankful for what we have today. Tomorrow is always uncertain. May peace and happiness follow you and your families everywhere.

I was one of the privelaged people in this world that had the opportunity to know Ken and Jennifer Lewis. She kept her horse "Poet" at my house for a couple of years and we frequently attended horse shows together. I am disappointed in myself for not finding this website sooner, as all the tributes were so heartfelt. They will be greatly missed!!

On September 11th I was discussing the attack with friends on line. I said that it was my belief that most people would forget the horror of the attack in a rather short time. That there would be whining about airport security lines in no time.
I resolved to remember one victim...so that I would always have a face to put on that day.
The person I choose was Ken since he was my age. Once I learned the story of Ken and Jennifer they both became my people to remember. Their picture hangs in my home. I think of them. Their death must not be in vain. Their battle was the first in a war we must win.
Thank you for maintaining this site.

On Sept. 11th, 2002 I sang Mozart's Requiem in Nashua, NH as part of the "Rolling Requiem" tribute to the victims of 9/11. This piece was performed and played in every time zone beginning at 8:46 a.m. that day. It was a powerful experience. Each singer was given a badge to wear that had a name of a victim on it. I wore Jennifer's name. Finding this site I learned more about her, and feel it was an honor to be a part of the tribute. She was a very special person. Amazingly, my husband and I are often referred to by a combination of our names, just as Jennifer and Kenneth were.
My heart goes out to her family and friends.

I met Jennifer and her family when we both lived in Bennington, VT. We were ages 8-11. I spent alot of time at their house. Jennifer was so much fun. We built lots of "FORTS" in the woods around her house and spent alot of time at the pond and in the barn. I moved to Tyler, TX in 1975 and never saw Jennifer again. I made my first trip back home in July of 2000. I spoke with her sister-in-law, Sheila, saw the old homestead, and got her address in VA. We wrote 2 or 3 times in the 13 months before 9-11. I really miss not getting to see her again in person. My prayers go out to her Mom and Dad, Three Brothers, and her sister-in-laws, her in-laws, and nieces and nephews, and all of those who loved her.
God bless all of you.

I can't even describe what I feel, my life has changed because of what has happend. Not even knowing Jennifer, I feel like I do, just because she was part of this terrible act. I do know that the Lord has her and the husband in his hands and she will never have to go through any pain or sorrow again. Sept 11, will never be forgotten by me. It seems to haunt me every day of my life. Which I pray that one day I can overcome my fear of flying and being around tall buildings. It has affected me greatly. I want to say sorry to Jennifers family, I can't emagine what you all are going through. I hope that you all will continue on in her name. May God Bless and keep everyone safe in his hands. My name is Barry Gore. Jennifer Lewis and Ken Lewis were my sister and my brother-in-law. I have just recently been put in touch with this wonderful website to honor those lost on Sept.11. A double loss for our families has been devastating. I have read all the entries in tribute to both Jennifer and Ken, and I want to thank each and everyone of you for your kind and thoughtful words. Believe me when I say that it helps to feel the caring from all of you. It has been a source of comfort in trying to deal with all of this. For those of you with Jen and Ken's name bands, I thank you for continuing to honor their memory and sacrifice. My heart goes out to each and everyone of the victims and their families and it is my hope and prayer that everyone can find some healing soon. What mercyband has done is a part of that process, Thank you on behalf of our family and Ken's family. Barry Gore

Everyone who died 9/11 will always be in my heart. I do not know anyone but I do feel as though I did. I ordered a Mercy Band and received mine with Jennifer's name on it. I wear it daily to remind me how precious life is. If anyone in Jennifer's family would like one, and doesn't have one, I'd like to buy one for you. Many people remember the tragedy of 9/11 and many people I know also know about Jennifer. Through me and my bracelet, the event has become personal. I am so sorry for the death of your loved one. I believe Jennifer and Kenneth watch over their loved ones as angels. I believe God cried when he saw the evil that took the lives of His innocent children before their time. In the shadows os darkness, He reached for them, as one by one they cried out His name. They found shelter and protection from human pain as they were lovingly pulled into His warm embrace. Cradled in His arms earthly cries became heavenly songs as angels were born. May you always feel the warmth of Jennifer and Kenneth surround you. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

Not enough praise can ever be given to members of flight crews who spend virtually more time in the air than on the ground. Thank you for dedicating your life to the safety and comfort of the flying public. May all those who know and love you now take comfort in the memories of you that live on in their hearts. Americans will never forget your sacrifice.
