Today, Josh followed my daughter, Brooke on instagram. He posted about you and said although he never had the chance to meet you, it was because of you that he was able to, "throw a leg over a motorbike." He is a lot like you from what I hear, very bright. #NeverForget

It's difficult to believe that it's been 15 years since that fateful day. I went for a bike ride today and thought about how we shared the same passion. Always in our hearts.

I pause today for a brief moment to lift up a special prayer for Karyn, Jessica, Colette and Len's many friends and family. I hope that I can continue to honor his legacy by remembering, as HE did, what is important in life. I have a wife and two daughters - THAT is what's important, everything else is secondary. I pray for God to grant each of you a special measure of blessing today and as we enter into this season of the birth of Christ, I pray for you to feel God's loving embrace. Much love from Texas,

Lenny,

Your daughters came up for a visit a few weeks ago. They are beautiful and wicked smart, like you! The last time I saw them they were just young children. I read a post today that was written by your friend, Eric. He certainly has a way with words and is very eloquent. I enjoyed reading the story about how you signed up for a charity bike ride and ended up doing the "Century" (100 mile) Ride. That's quite impressive!! Maybe some day, I will train for a similar ride. Cycling definitely helps clear the mind and strengthen the body. I realized today that you were 45 years old on that day, I'm also 45. You most definitely left a positive impression on those who had the pleasure of knowing you.

To the Family,
9/11 is a day that all of us would like to forget, but due to the fact that nearly 3,000 innocent souls were lost we just can not. Please be comforted to know that others sincerely care. I am so sorry for your loss.

My family vacationed in NH this past summer. Jeff came to see us on one of the nights and Greg came up with his family later in the week. I really enjoyed seeing all of them! I wish we could get together more often. Your family has always been very nice to me and I think of them more as good friends than just cousins.

Though the years have slowly slipped past, your memory never fades. You're always close to our hearts. God Bless.

I was searching Google for something and came across the Legacy site for Len. I am well aware of the details, as on 9-11 I was called by an LA Times reporter who was trying to confirm whether I was the Len Taylor involved in the WTC events.... I have read almost all the posts in this site and feel compelled to contact you and let you know this, and that as someone who did not know your husband, but shares his name and love of the Red Sox, I do think of him when this subject comes up and relate his story as it crossed mine. God Bless you Karyn and God bless your family.

Len,
OK, it's official, time does not heal all wounds. In fact, I'd have to say there are times when it hurts worse now. Maybe that's because of current situations, or maybe I just plain miss you and the world is not the same without you here to make me laugh. I just wasn't ready to see you go, none of us were, and it makes me so angry. Girls are doing well, Colette tries so hard to be like you and makes comparisons all the time. The 3 of us work on journals and scrapbooks and so we "see you" all the time. We love you more with each passing day, and boy I wish I'd had a Chrystal Ball that morning.
We love you,

Today, as I watched some television footage from that tragic day five years ago, my daughter Alison came into the room. Happy birthday Lenny! I know you aren't here to celebrate, but not a day goes by that we don't find ourselves amazed at how wonderful you were. We miss you like crazy, and at times it still seems impossible that you are gone. I wonder, will I ever get used to life without you? I wish you were here for the girls and I to celebrate your life with, to tease you about getting old, and to make a wish, the one you always made that you'd live to 100 and be surrounded by your family. I'm sorry that one didn't come true Sweetie. So, so sorry.

I love you, the girls love you, and I hope Heaven is all you thought it would be.

My Lenny,

I can''t believe another year has passed. The girls and I talk of you every day, remembering how warm and loving you were. I know now that they will be forever blessed by your presence in their lives, however cut short it was. As for me, I try every day to honor you in my life. Being married to you was like a gift that I could open every day of the year, and without it there is a monstrous void. But I cannot let that take from me all the beauty that you added to my life, or all I've fought for will be lost. My love for you endures your absence, and I miss you every day of my life. Find peace Sweetie,

So much has changed in these last two years, but the one thing that stays constant is our love for you. I was the luckiest woman in the world because of you, Even with you gone the blessings you gave the three of us still continue to make our lives better. It's so unfair that you are not here, and I don't think I'll ever get used to it, but I will always consider myself lucky to have had so many years with you. To be your wife, to be yours, was the best part of me.

We love you so much and always will!

It was nice catching up with you on what you had been doing the past few years. Greg and Jeff told me about the impromtu football game you had at your mom's house in MA.!! It must have been alot of fun! Everyone got together at the beach house last month (July '03) for a birthday party for Greg. Barbara made a wonderful video of Greg growing up that we all watched. There was alot of footage of you as well. We all laughed as we watched you, Jeff and Greg ride crazily around on your bikes! You guys sure had a lot of fun together!!

We all miss you dearly Lenny but know that you are still with us in spirit. You are always in our thoughts & prayers.

Just returned home to CA after visiting with my sister and the girls. Karyn even took me to visit you, and I got giddy talking to you, but I know you understand every word I said. This Thanksgiving was also missing you deeply, but it meant a lot to be with Karyn, Jess & Colette. Rudi was there too, said a prayer and sent a kiss. I know you caught it!! We love and miss you much.

I have a very touching story to tell about. My school, Lincoln High School, participated in the Rolling Requiem today for the 1 year anniversery. Each participant in the concert recieved a pin with a victims name on it. The one I recieved was Leonard Taylor. I was very honored to represent him. I just want to send my deepest sympathy to all of the Taylor family. God bless you.

I live in Reston, and I walk around Lake Newport every day wth my yellow Labrador, my husband, and my two little boys. They have built a small memorial park to honor your memory. One of the reasons I walk this path every day is to pay a tribute to you. I explained to my 5-year old that they created this park for you because you were a loving father and husband that was taken from his family too soon. I want you to know that you and this day will always be remembered, and that Reston, VA was deeply affected by your death.

The Ship

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she lands like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.

Then somebody at my side says, "There, she is gone!"

Gone where?

Gone from my sight. That is all. She is as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.

Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when somone at my side says, "There, she is gone!" There are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout,

"Here she comes!"

And that is dying.

To his family,

May God continue to bless you and restore your family's hearts and minds in the celebration of his life and what he stood for. I am only 15 years old, but my heart went out to your family in particular when I had to choose a person to represent in school. I decided to wear a button in his honor with his name on it to thank him for taking what I would have never been able to take. I appreciate him so much because he like others taught me a lesson in life that I shall and will never forget. I thank his family for giving me a piece of him to always remember. I wish that I could meet and thank the people who gave such a special man to me in spirit. I thank you so much and may God continue to bless you and your family. Remember that there is on person that your loved one has truly touched and it is a teenage girl from Jacksonville, Florida.

Sincerly,

Happy Belated Birthday

Well it is from us Carrolls, so it must be late! We miss you so much and know that this birthday and all those to follow are happy, "...prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord." Until we meet again our memories will help to ease the pain. I remember Karyn meeting you and being taken by your cuteness, your love for New England and all it's teams, how you cherished that 'boat' of a car, your wedding day and seeing you with your first daughter. You amazed me with your tenderness and ease of fathering. I remember our dinners when you came out for business and I will always love the way you took care of my best friend and your two girls. Thank you for the years of friendship.

We will always miss you, Kathy, Craig and kids.

Well Lenny,

Just about a year ago we were sharing pizza by the pool; you in the pouring rain with the kids, Karyn and I in the luxury of the great indoors. We never did get to have our cookout (we New Englander's would never say Bar-B-Que, I can't even spell it - something about the accent?), but I did get to see up close and personal what a great love and, more importantly, affection, you shared with Karyn and the girls. Makes me admire you even more. Happy B-Day, my friend. Rest in peace. Love, Suzanne.

It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we extend a special greeting to you on Len's birthday. Although nothing can bring back the Husband, Father and Friend that was taken, we can certainly share in the love, spirit and friendship Len gave us all. His birthday will always be a special time to celebrate the way he lived and enjoyed so many things. I'm sure he is smiling and thinking of all the special time, places and memories you shared together. Whether it's the feel of the fresh air coming off the ocean in New England or thie vision of him riding up on his bike, we remember him in many different but good ways. We hope that his birthday does not make the passage of time, buth rather refreshes our need to live life to its fullest and to reinforce the virtues and attitude Len shared everyday.

Happy Birthday Len,

If we had one lifetime wish,

One dream that could come true

We'd pray to God so hard

For yesterday and you.

They say memories are golden.

Well, maybe that is true,

But we never wanted memories;

We only wanted you.

If teardrops were a stairway

And heartaches a lane,

We'd walk a path to heaven

And bring you back again.

A thousand times we need you,

A thousand times we've cried ...

If love could have saved you,

You would have never died.

You are in our thoughts and prayers today and in the future. May we all be strengthened by remembering and coming together as a country.

I've rewritten my note several times, and each time I fail to find the right words. Know that I and others like me, who did not know Leonard, wich we never had to write to you. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Karyn, Jessica and Colette,

I want you to know I'm thinking of you. I lost my son 11 years ago, and there's still a hole in my heart where he used to be, but it gets easier with time.

Uncle Lenny;

Happy Birthday to you. We love you always and pray that you are looking down upon my sister and my neices. This is the hardest year for all and this birthday cake is a very special one.

Little Rudi has your pictures from our last visit together and tells everyone about her one and only uncle.

Even though we have never met, I send my thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Something such as this just seems to hit very close to home.
