I am a pentagon tour guide and would like to share Rob's story with your groups that come through, his biography is too short for such a great American. I'm looking forward to sharing his passions with 1000's of people.

I knew Bob as a member of our car club and remember that beautiful green Cobra and how proud he was of it. I also remember that car at a Saleen car show a few weeks after this tragedy, and all of the flowers and notes that were put on that car in his rememberance. May God Bless, and I'm sure he's cruising around Heaven in that beloved Mustang... My thoughts and prayers are with your family on this day of rememberance.

To The Family,
Losing our loved ones in death is perhaps among the worst things that can happen to us. I did not know Mr. Robert Penninger but when so many innocent people are killed for no reason at all it doesn't matter if one knows the victims or not, it still hurts. Please accept my sincere sympathy in the loss of your loved one.
Sincerely,
Mr. Terry of NC

Mark and I still think of Bob often, driving his Green Cobra smiling, leaving a car show. We truly enjoyed his friendship, his kindness and his sense of humor. We still honor him, thinking of him especially on this day, 9/11.

Bob was a friend and co-worker for many years, working on military projects that had terrific humanitarian applications. He was very excited about that because it would save so many from injury or death. Bob was a fine man who loved his family dearly. I miss his humor and kindness.

I knew Bob for a very brief 2 years. We were in the same car club together. In fact we tied for 1st place in the last show we did together one month before Bob passed. He was one of the nicest souls I have ever come across. I have his picture as a desk top on my computer every Sept 11th in rememberance.

I knew Bob casually from our interests in Mustangs. I (along with 2 others) headed up a group of 16 Mustang clubs in Southern California to put on a benefit car cruise for Bob's family.
Bob, we miss you! Our thought are with Janet (his wife).
Here's a picture of Bob and his car from the last car show he attended.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
