Remembering Angelene on the 20th anniversary of 9/11...

June 27, 2019

Rest in peace Miss Carter. You didn't die in vain..

September 11, 2015

Greetings Carter Family. I'm sorry it's taken me so long to enter my condolences here. But I'm nobody you all would know. I never met Angelene in person. I worked over in Germany at that time and she and I spoke on the phone from time to time to reconcile funding. I had spoken to her that morning of September 11th, early morning for her but late afternoon for me. I was waiting for her to call me back. She never did. I found this picture of her on the internet later that year. It's on my desktop today. I bring it up on my screen and think of her every year. I'm so sorry for your loss. Hang in there. C

Angelene, I think of you every year on this date as well as your family. I was given a bracelet to wear to school the following year, 2002, my senior year of high school. I still have the bracelet to this day and now I pull it out to show my History students how I have so much compassion for a woman I've never met. I hope you know beautiful Angelene that my prayers and concerns this day are for you, your family, and all those who have suffered from this tremendous tragedy. Your memory lives on, and your loss is even felt by those who never knew of your love. May you rest in peace in the company of our Lord Angelene, I look forward to hugging you someday.

I remember Mrs. Carter today and every year since that horrible day back in 2001. I worked with Mrs. Carter years ago in the finance office in Washington, DC. She was such a lovely person. I remember how kind she was to all of us new soldiers just coming in to the finance office. Mrs. Carter always had time to give encouragement to everyone. I truly will never forget her. God bless her family and I pray continued strength to all.

We will never forget the people lost that day - from the Twin Towers, to the flights, the Pentagon and all of the first responders who were there to help. My love and prayers go out to the friends and family of Angelene. We thank her for the service she provided to the US Army. We will honor her memory. Much love from Texas.

September 11, 2011

I never knew Angelene.

A woman I worked with ,who didn't know her either, gave me a 9-11 pin to wear in Angelene's honor along with a picture of Angelene. She felt the victims of the Pentagon were being overshadowed by those lost at the twin towers.

I wear this pin every day.

I never knew Angelene, but I will never forget her.

To the Carter family,

I pray for the Lord to send peace to you this day on the anniversary of the death of Angelene. I am about the same age as she is and I know how my family would have missed me with the birth of new grandbabies. I pray that her memory will be kept alive for her futher generations by pictures and stories you will tell about her. Even though years have passed the memories of that horrible day will always be etched in our memory. My thoughts and prayers are with you on this day.

Weeks after 9-11-01, I awoke in the middle of the night with the name,

"Angie Carter" in my thoughts. Upon discovering that Angelene Carter was a Pentagon victim, I searched for a personal connection. After reading several testimonies, I have discovered she was a strong Christian woman. When visiting the

9/11 Memorial Quilt last month, I

felt a bond and a restoration in my

own faith. Thank you Mrs. Carter.

As I awoke to my Birthday on 9-11-2001 I would soon learn that this would be the darkest day of my life, for our country was under attack by terrorist who sought to destroy our joy and freedom but because of Angelinas and others like her who gave the ultimate sacrafice the terrorist failed. To the family of Angelina plese know that Angelinas passing was not in vain, and she coupled with many others that gave the ultimate sacrafice on that day will forever be remembered in my prayers. To Deloris, Angelinas sister know that your neighbors down the the street will always be there for you.May God forever incapsulate the the family with His Grace and Mercy.

At my work we decided to do something to remember the vitims of the attacks. We were picking cards with names of victims on them and I ran across the card with Angelene's name on it. Her memory will live on through her family and friends. My Cub Scout den is also doing some community clean-up work in her memory.

I stumbled across this page and clicked on Angelene's name and was very touched. I suddenly lost my Mom 2 years ago. She was 45. Although I did not lose anyone in the 911 tragedy, I know and feel your pain. I have cried many tears for each person that lost their life and for their families, your family. GOD BLESS YOU!

My name is Fred Carter. I'm Angelene's husband. My daughters, (Freddye and Angenette) and I would like to thank everyone for the tributes to my Wife and Special Prayers for me and my family. Everyday I thank God for allowing me 18 years of marriage to Angelene. She is my Very Special Angel. I will love her forever. There are no words to express just how much we miss her. It was like our lives stopped for 6 months. I pray everyday for God to give us the strength and courage to move forward. We have so many Good Memories to share and we're getting stronger everyday. Freddy's looking forward to her Senior Prom, May 25, 2002 and Graduation Day, May 30, 2002. Though Prayer and Trust in God we will make both events a special day in her life. Again, thanks and My God Bless each of you.

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
