She would have loved the quilt. I am sure her family will love it. I am one of the students in the picture (blonde 1st row 3rd from the right in front of her). My name is Mandy, she was my best friend back then. I don't see a problem with you using our 5th grade picture.

To Sunny's friends and family,
We honored Sunny as part of the Vetiquette program which teaches students about the sacrifices of veterans and gold star families. A group of middle school students researched about her and wrote a 1 page bio with 2 photos. A 3rd grade class at a different school read the bio and made a quilt honoring her and her character traits. We will be mailing the quilt to her family. I wanted to add the elementary school photo to her bio but can you please let me know which one is Sunny in the photo? (pls email me at [email protected]) I am sorry to you all for your loss. Her light is evident in your shares. She made a big impact on the children as everyone agrees it would be lovely for everyone to be remembered for all her wonderful and kind traits. I am attaching a photo of the quilt.

I rode in the 911 Biker Rally in DC on Sept 11th. When I signed in I received a name of a person killed on 9-11 or in the wars following 9-11. The name on my jacket: SPC Chin Sun Pak Wells. Interesting enough, I adopted a daughter from Korea 30 years ago, today she is in delivery having twin boys.

I am almost nine years late. Chin sun and I met in fourth grade at Kuntz Elementary. Instantly she and I became great friends in Mrs. Barnes class. At the end of our sixth grade year my Dad retired from the Army. It was the hardest thing I ever did in my short life leaving my best friend. I could not listen to Bon Jovi's song Never Say Goodbye with out crying. I was so excited to have her come and visit me when we where both starting our Freshman year. She flew to Nashville from Oklahoma. We had always talked about going to high school together and all the things we would do. Of course though after a few weeks she had to go back to Oklahoma and of course I had my life in Tennessee. We cried and promised eachother we would always stay in touch. She made me promise her that even if we hadn't talked in years we would find eachother before we got married so we could be eachother's maid of honor. As you can probably guess we talked on the phone several times, but long distance relationships are hard and especially hard for teenagers. I always knew of her medical expectations, but never had I dreamed she would have went into the millitary. I have been looking for her off and on since 2004 when I got married. I did not have a big wedding but I wanted to keep my promise. I could not find her though. I looked on Facebook (even set up my profile hoping someday she would look for me), my space, and reunion .com. I even thought maybe she really changed her name to Sunny, because she talked about it so often in school, but I still could not find her. I have been married for almost 6 years and I have never forgotten her. I was looking in one of my scrap books and ran across pictures of her and I. Tonight it occured to me to try Google. I am speachless. I am angered. I am everything everybody who lost a loved one was on that day. Except I am immensly embarrassed and upset that I am just now finding out. Chin Sun made me always work as hard as I could, even in school I looked up to her and pushed myself to be the best I could be. I would think to myself at times in my life that even though I could not find her that at least she was some where under this same sky thinking of me occasionally. My heart is broken. I am learning of her life on the internet. I see she was about to be married. I think of all the times she laughed at me making faces at her Korean food, and how sweet her mom was to always fix me burgers instead. How we would sit and play Mario (yes the first one) when it came out with her younger brothers. She is a bog part of who I am today. I miss her terribly somehow this world is a much lonlier and darker place with out Sunny's light. I will always keep her spirit alive. She was first to teach me about true friendship. I love you Chin Sun and I am so sorry I was not there for you. You would have been a beautiful Maid of Honor and an even more beautiful bride.

Sunny, I am so sorry that I did not visit your site on the 11th. I was having a difficult time on that day and the days leading up to it. I spent the day with firefighters, emt's, and paramedics. Sunny,
It's been 8 long years since you were taken from us. I have since learned that everything truly happens for a reason. You continue to be in my daily thoughts and prayers. You taught me how to live life and enjoy everyday like it's your last. The emotional/mental pain of losing you still haunts me to this day, but I have slowly come to understand and accept your departure. I know you are in a better place and are still near me everyday in spirit. I pray for your family and friends in hope that they can accept what happened, but to never forget; to remember the good times that you brought into all of our lives and not to dwell on the attacks of 9/11. I love and miss you and will one day see you again.

I
went to high school with Sunny. We had Barbara Smith 4th hour speech
class(drama). We were not friends only classmates. I was so shocked to
hear of her death. It deeply saddens me. I can imagine the pain parents
went though and still go through. Sunny will never be a wife or a
mother, she will never worry about wrinkles or gray hair.
The thing I remember most about Sunny is her hands, she had the most
beautiful hands and she always wore this gold ring with a coin dangling
from it.

Sunny and I were roomates in Korea. She was a great roomate, and more importantly, a great person. As a mother now, I can only wonder how much pain her parents have gone through as well as the rest of her family. As a person who has loved and felt love and been in love, I especially feel great sorrow for Christopher, and have so for these years since 9-11. I wish him and all of her family members much love and peace.
I hope you are all comforted by the fact that you have your own personal angel up in heaven who is shining her love down upon you everyday.

To the family and friends of Spc. Chin Sun Pak:
Today marks the one year anniversary of September 11. To acknowledge the lives of those lost a year ago, I attended a prayer service at the Jamestown United Methodist Church. Each parishioner was offered the name of a victim from the attacks. We were asked to pray for this person and to say a special prayer to the families.
I want you to know that today I prayed for Chin Sun Pak. I am keeping you all in my thoughts and I want you to know that our country is filled with people who share your sorrow and acknowledge your loss. We may not have shared a life and memories with the victims, but we do kneel together, with you, and offer our prayers in their names.
I hope you have found some peace in this past year. God Bless you all,

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen
I knew Sunny from Korea, she was a beautiful person inside and out. I will truly miss her and my heart goes out to her family, Christopher and friends. What took place on Sept. 11 has changed my life and made me aware of how you can know someone and lose them in an instance. I think about her everyday and I know she is looking down upon us from that house not built with hands, eternal in the heavens. I love and miss you Sunny.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
