As a proud member of the Fairfax, HOG (Harley Owners Group) Chapter, I participated in a remembrance ride & ceremony, where we read all of the names of the fallen, and then placed a rose on each bench to ensure EVERYONE was remembered. I was privileged and honored to place my rose on Ada's bench. May you rest in God's peace.

I was in NYC for the marathon in November and visited the 9/11 memorial. While walking around the reflection pools, I saw Ada's engraved name with a rose in it. The tour guide informed us that it was her birthday that day. I have thought about her since I saw her name and today I looked her up. What an incredible lady and what a loss to all of us! My sincerest condolences to her friends and family. Attached is the picture I took.

I took Ada's name from the list of victims in the Pentagon because she was the same age as I, and worked for the Military as I did (retired 2003 from TACOM in Warren, MI). I knew I couldn't remember the names of all the victims, so I picked Ada. I remembered her in my retirement speech because she got robbed of her retirement. Although I cannot remember all the names of the victims, I think of Ada often.

It is almost 6 long years since that horrific day but the thoughts seem so fresh in my mind. While most of us survived the attack, many did not. It still deeply saddens me to know that Ada left us on that day and she never really spent her retirement days as she planned. She just wanted to continue helping the Budget Office up till her last day on this earth. I still vividly remember how we would in the hallways of the Pentagon. Ada was a wonderful person, helpful, extremely hardworking and miss her even though I am no longer there because I retired the first opportunity I had back in Jan 2003. Ada helped me make my retirement decision. Thank you for being part of my life, Ada.
God bless your family, Ada. I saw them in church the day of your funeral and they miss you so much. I know that you are happy in eternal life. Pray for us and guide us all.
Will Always Remember You.

I drew Ada's name in the 2,996 Tribute to the victims of 911 and finding this site and reading all the tributes to Ada here from friends and family members bring tears to my eyes. I know Ada will be missed always. Ada's photo looks so familiar to me and since during my husband's military career he worked at the Pentagon I feel like somehow I must have met her. I pray that God continues to comfort Mrs. Davis's family.

While searching for words for an upcoming remembrance ceremony, I came across Mrs. Davis and the wonderful, touching tribute paid to her. Mrs. Davis and her family will be in my prayers. All too often we overlook the people that 9/11 took, I hope to evoke the same feeling that the poetess has in me.

Our family continues to pray for Ada each and every day and remember her and the loss her family feels. My husband was working in the Pentagon on September 11th and thankfully he was ok. At church that next Sunday, we passed a basket that had names of all the victims of that terrible day and my husband drew her name. Each of us have a name that we still continue to pray for. I just wanted you to know that she is not forgotten even by those who did not know her personally. God Bless!

For my dearest sister Sue and all of the members of Ada Davis' family. Please continue to remain prayerful and hold tightly onto God's unchanging hand. He is in control of everything that happens here on earth. While I did not have the pleasure of knowing Ada I do have the delightful pleasure of knowing Sue as my sorority sister, co-worker and friend. From these experiences and reading the other tributes, I can feel the warmth and love that flows from the Davis family and that Ada must truly have exhibited daily during her life. I'm confident that you, her beloved family, constantly feel her presence, love, support and teachings in your hearts and lives. And you will continue do so until such time that you again meet.

On Tuesday, 25 March 2003, the Federal Women's Program paid tribute to the 47 Federal Women who parished on 9/11. I was honored to read the beautiful tribute that was written about Ada Davis. When I was first given the tribute, I read it through and I thought I was reading about my own maternal grandma who past away over six years ago. May be Ada and my grandma are talking up in heaven.
May God bless your family and May God Bless the United States of America.

To the Davis familyI was searching through the names, and found Ada's. I lost my mother that same year, but to Alzheimers. Her maiden name was Ala M. Davis. I did not know anyone personally who was lost on 9-11. But Ada's name, in a way, brought it home. I am so sorry for your loss. There are no words to express my grief. I hope you will find some comfort in all the love and prayers extended to you now. God bless.

Dear Davis Family,
A year ago our worlds were changed forever. My family picked Ada's name from a basket passed around at our church. We have prayed for Ada and her family every day and we wanted you to know that. We will be lighting a candle for her, even though we did not know her or you, we are all brothers and sisters in Christ. My husband who is military was at work in his office at the Pentagon that day and I thank God every day for him being safe. We feel a particular bond to all those who suffered that terrible day. We continue to pray for your strength and renewal until you see your loved one again.

Davis Family,
I was in Germany working for DFAS-Europe this time last year. I was so shocked of the events and watched all the reports and was so saddened by it all. It really hit me to find out that I knew someone. It was Aida. I was TDY at MDW back in Jul-Oct 93. Aida took me under her wing and taught me so much in the short time I was there. She was a sweet and very caring person. Her knowledge and caring is surely missed. I will be thinking of her and your family especially on this Wed as I go to a service here in Indianapolis. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Uncle Junior and cousins,
My prayers are with you always and I know that God will comfort you just as He has comforted us in the loss of my father. I did not know Aunt Ada very well living far away but I could see the wonderful fruit of her life as we spent that time of supporting you after her death. Family is so important and though distance separates us, we experience the intimacy of the dynamites of family love. We will never forget the strength, love and grace of God we saw when we came up to visit. Aunt Ada has done an awesome job building a wonderful family unit. May God continue to cause His face to shine on you. Love, Sandra, Carolyn, and Your Family in Baton Rouge!

To the Davis Family,
Must can be said of how a family, such as yours, of true unity and love has been taught. Your mother touched The Smith's family's heart with sincere love and open arms and a dedication to share religious guidance of a God parent to my son. And help me understand, as well. I will never forget our last Sunday at the church picnic. Of how we all sat at the table, talked, ate, and just enjoyed each other's company. I see so much of her in your family, arm in arm, heart in heart, hand in hand. May she continue to live through you and yours. Thank you for sharing her with us.

I didn't know Ada well, but she truly made a lasting impact while she was alive, and isn't that what it's all about??

Dear Zenovia and Family, my heart and prayers are with you. I, also, have experienced the loss of a loved one. A loved one that was so vital to the strength of the family. Keep your head up and your hearts open and you will see in time that the pain does wane. Always keep in your mind and heart the love that Mrs. Davis gave to all of you. She was a truly beautiful angel; that's why God called her home. God bless you all.

To the family of Aunt Ada, I'm Alphonso Patterson's wife and Ada's lost was truly shocking. My husband took this lost truly hard because he talked a lot about Aunt Ada and he talked about the things they use to do. I remind him everyday that Aunt Ada is in a better place, she's with great leaders gone before us. She have on her wings now and is watching us now. I do feel that she is our son's guardian Angel. I do wish she could of been here to see little Stink. I hope that she watches over all of us and keep us safe. We miss you and Love You. We hope that your kindness, love, passion, and personality lives on. Also, if Stink and I decide to have another child in the way FUTURE and a girl, we will name her Jada in honor and rememberence of Aunt Ada. May you Rest in Peace.

My sister, Ada, was such a wonderful person. My way of dealing with the loss is thinking about all the good times we had together (on the phone for hours), vacation, holiday visits. She was always encouraging you and reminding you what you were capable of doing because of "where we came from". Mom and Dad taught her well as the oldest of 10 children. I, so, miss all those wonderful conversations we had. She was an exceptional listener and could always make you feel better about anything you shared with her. I truly miss her, but know that she is in a better place. AND, I do believe that I will see her again when GOD CALLS ME HOME! ADA, I love you and will make sure our family always stay together until we meet Dad, Mom, you, Lula, Louis and Kenny in Heaven. LOVE, The Sue Davis Westmoreland Family

I cannot even imagine the extent of the loss you have felt in your hearts and continue to feel. Your mom/wife was such a warm, caring, funny, nurturing, and incredible woman!! I pray that you are comforted in KNOWING she is with Him, and that you will see her again when God calls you Home, too.
My prayers are with you and for you!

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
