As we prepare to remember 9/11, may we know that God's grace and mercy surrounds us. As promised to you Mrs. Champion, I will be praying for you and your family. I never met Marjorie nor Rhonda but I'm sure their desks are still side by side.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. Although I did not know Marjorie, I worked with her daugther Amanda at Deutsch Inc. I can only imagine how wonderful Marjorie must have been, because she raised a wonderful daughter who we all think of often.

We wish to express appreciation to those who signed this guest book to honor our only daughter Marjorie Champion Salamone, and to those who wear the MERCY Bands bearing her name. Thank you for remembering her. She was a very special person, a loving daughter, wife and mother.

Early in 2002 I came across an article in "The Oregonian" about wrist bands (similar to the POW-MIA bracelets of the '70s) which were engraved with names of those killed on 9-11. They are called mercy BANDs (Bear Another's Name Daily). A specific name or location could be requested. I asked for someone from the Pentagon mostly because the media was focusing more on the Trade Center, NYFD, NYPD, etc. The bracelet I received and wear daily bears the name of Majorie. As we approach the 3rd anniversary of 9-11, I send my prayers to her family and friends. Although she is a stanger to me, I hope to honor and remember her until we meet.

I was fortunate enough to meet Marjorie's talented daughters at Lee High School. Both of them had such an effervescent life-force in what they did, enthusiasm and kind-hearted nature. I was working at a government building in DC that terrible day, and I remember hearing of the loss of Mrs. Salamone from a friend of the family. My thoughts are with the family and her spirit will live on in those she touched.

I didn't know Mrs. Salamone but I knew her daughter, Ann Marie (such a wonderful person!), in high school. I was so saddened to hear of their loss and want them to know that they are always in my prayers. I pray that God grants you all peace and comfort.

I was acquainted with Marjorie during my husband's assignment to Vicenza, Italy (1984-1988 time frame). I always remember her as a friendly, smiling person, and I can picture her with a young daughter (not sure which one it was) on occasions that I would meet them in the community. I was very sad to learn of her death while reviewing a list of Pentagon victims. The name immediately jumped out at me. I want her family to know that they have been in my thoughts and prayers. My husband retired from the Army in 1997, after his 1995-97 assignment to the Pentagon We were vacationing in Ireland when the attacks occurred, and were worried about friends and acquantances who were still working there. I did not know that Marjorie was living or working in the area. Ironically, I was flying home from Massachusetts to Colorado this summer when I met a minister's wife, my seat mate, whom I chatted with. She asked if we knew any Pentagon victims, and I mentioned Marjorie and my brief but pleasant acquaintance with her. We eventually settled back to read; after a while she got my attention to show me an item in the Sunday suplement that she was reading; it had a short piece abvout 9/11 victims and memorials set up in their names; she pointed out the paragraph mentioning a fund in Marjorie's name! to benefit the Girl Scouts (or was it another girls' organization?) Anyway, I would love to know how I can make a donation to any fund(s) in Marjorie's name. Again, My sincere condolences to her family and friends.

May god bless your family. I went to high school with Amanda, and on the one-year anniversary of Sept.11th, I was truly thinking about her and her family. I am living all the way in Italy now, but I still pray for you and for your mother.

Marjorie and I were suite-mates at Auburn University our freshman year. She was a delight to be around in all ways. She had a softness and kindness that touched everyone, and all her endeavors. She was very studious and serious about her education.

I was so saddened to learn she was lost at the Pentagon on September 11th. Many memories flooded back of Marjie and those wonderful college days. By reading the tributes to her, I see that she fulfilled her potential and her hopes for the future. My hopes and prayers for peace to her family and friends go with this, as well as my confidence that she watches from above.

Just glancing at the newspaper one day I saw the story about Tracy Faust's bracelet. I was surprised to learn that Mrs. Salamone was (very) distantly kin to me. I am so sorry I never met her and send my sincere sympathy to the family. Watching in horror 9-11-01 was shocking enough for me and the 3 yr. old neighbor I held much of the day. I cannot imagine how it has been for the Salamone- Champion families. My thoughts were with you on 9-11-02. As you begin the 2nd year, may the hurt ease. Love, EC

I went to high school with Marjorie's daughters in Springfield, VA. Though they may not remember me, I remember them and and have thought of them and their family often throughout this last year. When I first heard about the tragedy at the Pentagon, I immediately thought of how many of my classmates were affected...their families and friends. It was the next day that I heard the news about Mrs. Salamone. My prayers are with and have been with the family and loved ones that lost on that day. And I want Ann Marie and Amanda to know that they are not alone. They are always in my thoughts...God Bless.

Everybody is connected to this tragic event, because everybody knows somebody who lost someone they knew, or someone they loved. I knew (and still know) Ms. Salamone's nephew, John Champion, and watched him deal with the sudden loss of a year ago. For him, for her, and for all of the family members and friends, you have my deepest sympathies and kindest thoughts.

My heart goes out to all of Majorie's family & friends. I never met her but I met her daughter Amanda once and to raise such a kind daughter must have taken a kind, loving, & caring mother to do so and I'm sure she fulfilled all of those beautiful qualities.

My husband has been wearing a bracelet such as the Mercy bands with Marjorie's name since the fall of 2001. He chose her because she was an Auburn Univ. graduate and also because of her brother, Dr. Richard Champion. Our prayers have been and will continue to be with your family.

Margie, her brother,my sisters, brother, and I grew up together. We attended the same little country church where Margie and Benny were married. Margie was a dear cousin and we shared the same last name before marriage. Margie and her family will always hold a dear spot in my heart.

I have been drawn to information about Marjorie Salamone because her parents live near LaGrange, where I used to live. I now live in Sweden, and I just wanted her family to know that even across the Atlantic Ocean, there are people praying that somehow your days will become easier as you deal with her loss.

I just received a Mercy B.A.N.D. with Marjorie's name on it. I just wanted her family to know that, a wife and mother of two daughters from Iowa, is praying for God's comfort, strength and blessings for them daily.

Marge and I spent many hours together as our daughters moved through high school and college. Most special was when we shared a suite at Amanda and Gina's graduation! Marge was a gracious roommate and as always put others first. My heart aches for her and for her precious girls and dear husband. Her iris still grow in my garden, and her memory will always live in my heart.

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
