I am in St. Louis, MO and this Sept 11 our "Art Hill" at Forest Park had all 2,977 of the fallen represented by 10' tall flag poles with American flags. Each flag had a name to represent the life of each. For a donation, all flags were given out today and I received Mrs. Amelia V. Field's flag. She will always be remembered here, halfway across the country in a tribute to her and all those that we lost. Kelly Polson

I am so very sorry for your loss. I had gotten a chance to work with Amelia a couple of times when I was TDY to the National Capital Region CPOC. One of the trips was when we were helping out closing the CPOC down. Amelia was always very friendly to me and I appreciated that.

We are very sorry for your great loss of Amelia. May precious memories of times shared with her lighten the sorrow in your hearts. Our hearts cry with you.

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

It has been many years since I have

spoken to the Fields family. Our families met when we were stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC. We attended the same church, myself and William Jr. played on the same basketball team. I remember "Sis Fields" as being a warm, sweet person who loved the Lord.

As this act of terrorism has affected the entire nation, I can only imagine how much more your family has been affected by this great tragedy. Even now as I am deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, I gain a deeper perspective as to why I am here serving in the US Air Force. It could have very well been my loved one lost, or my wife and children having to deal with losing me.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Fields family and I pray that the Lord gives you all the needed comfort in dealing with your loss.

Remember, there is no one who can seperate you from the love of the Lord, Romans 8.

God Bless you all

Fields Family, I am wearing a mercy band with your moms name on it daily. That also means that I am praying for Shantell, her 2 brothers and her father. Lenya Heitzig, who God used to make the mercy band idea a reality, is a good friend of mine. What a great way for you to know that others are lifting you up to the Lord. May you all know His peace. May he give you strength to carry on. Love, Stacy Abruzzo

dear shantell:

i know your mother loved you dearly with all her heart and soul. i am also sure she was very proud of the fact that you were going off to college even though she missed you very much. your mother also knew you loved her very much. teenagers have their ups and downs but mothers know that it's a part of growing up and she forgave your indiscretions and capriciousness.don't beat yourself up about the disagreement the two of you had before you went off to college. at least you had the chance to make up by phone. i know it's not the same as making up in person, but the fact is that the two of you made up. please continue to pray for strength and wisdom. god will grant you both. take care of your family and continue your education.do what would have made your mother proud.

keep your head up.

god loves you.

my sincerest sympathy.
