I never meet Carolyn but know of her from my Sister Janice Scott, they were co-workers and both lost their lives on 9/11/2001. They planned family reunions together and after this tragedy, I meet and now friends with Carolyn Sister- Pearl and the rest of the family, It is a blessing to know that even after something like this there is a rainbow at the end of meeting new found friends, My prayers are with the family and look forward to our reunion @ the 9/9/08- 9/11/08 Special Memorial Service's to include the special Bench Ceremony. in Washington DC

It's amazing how many years haved passed. It's almost that time of year again for the family reunion and you will be missed but your spirit will live forever. Your family and friends missed you so much but you are in a better place now having a good time planning your own family reunion. I thank you, Herman, and Alisha for everything you did for me. TO THE HALMON FAMILY:
Another Christmas (2002)is upon us where we miss our Loved One dearly. Their memories at this special time of the year keeps joy in our hearts. I thank GOD that I had a chance to meet another loving family that know my family's feelings because we understand and share the same. I remember when we were at the Family Assistance Center and how we cried and laughed together--lifting each other's spirits. It's always a pleasure being in your company when we meet. Hope you are all doing well. Until we meet again......Renee (Sister of Cecelia Richard)

Hi, my name is Joe. I never had the got the chance to meet carolyn in person. Last night i went to a ceremony for the people of 9/11 in Amherst MA. It was a small ceremony seeing as we are a small town. A local candle manufacturer was giving away free candles with the names of those who were lost on sept 11th. I recieved a candle with the name of Carolyn B. Halmon, age 49, washington D.C. And when I got home, I looked over at my computer and wondered if i could learn more about this brave woman for which I had a candle lit and prayed for. To the family, I know you have suffered a great loss, but I know you will always remember her. After that night at the candle lit ceremony, I will never forget her either. I brought home the candle that was given to me and every year for the rest of my life, i will light it on 9/11 for 1 minute and prey for your lost angel.
Thank you for letting me post here.

Bet,
There is never a day that goes by that I dont feel like pick up the phone to call you. Its not hard for me not having you here because I fully understand that you are in a better place and you just begun to live to never have to die again.
You would be so proud of Alisha, Stan and Herman. They are holding on to YHWH unchanging hand and I can see Him guideing them through the hurt & pain. I know YWHW said, well done, My good and faithful friend. When you arrived at the golden gates. I can see Maggie & Ceaser pushing the gates open to receive you. I know you are still praying for everyone as always but now its so awesome to be able to see all of us through YHWH eyes. We are here for Herman, Alisha and Stan. Just as you would be for our children and spouse.
I love you always, thanks for being a big sister. You are safe in YHWH arms. Live on.

To Uncle Herman, Alisha & Stan:
I love and miss auntie Bet. My classmates and I prayed for everyone and especially auntie Bet on 9-11. I knew she would be alright because she knows YHWH. But I still will miss that big bright smile she always had on her face when she came down south. It was like a light from heaven. Auntie Bet had her own special way of praying and talking to each one of her neices and nephews. So Stan & Alisha you are blessed to have her as a mom and a wife Uncle Herman. Don't be sad, just think of all the good times and her heavenly smile and it will see you through.

Bridgett and Family of Bet Halmon,
Words can not express the deep loss we feel when someone close to us is taken. Yet from my reading of the loving guest book entries here, and my work with Bridgett, I've come to appreciate how supportive you are and need to be for one another. My wife Edye lost her Dad this past November, but not in a situation anything like that which took your Bet. And its only been from Edye's loving family that I've begun to accept the loss of her Dad whom I so greatly admired and respected. Since my own words fail, I'll close citing a poem taken from a mass card from the priests of the Sacred Heart.
SAFELY HOME
I am home in Heaven, dear ones;
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.
Did you wonder I so calmly
Trod the valley of the shade?
Oh! but Jesus' love illuminated
Every dark and fearful glade.
And He came Himself to meet me
In that way so hard to tread;
And with Jesus' arm to lean on,
Could I have one doubt or dread?
Then you must not grieve so sorely,
For I love you dearly still;
Try to look beyond earth's shadows,
Pray to trust our Father's Will.
There is work still waiting for you,
So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remaineth-
You shall rest in Jesus' land.
When the work is all completed,
He will gently call you Home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting,
Oh, the joy to see you come!

Bet we all miss you, but because of your love and faith in Jesus Christ we know you are resting in his care. There are know more troubles of the world. You are now at peace, a peace you could not have experienced here on earth, a peace that only God can give, an everlasting peace. You touched so many lives. As I remember our family picnic from last year, I remember how happy and excited you were. You could not stop talking, and now we understand why. It was because it would be that last time to celebrate with the family on this earth. It was such a great celebration that we even forgot to make plans for this coming year, but don't worry with God's help and saving grace we will continue. To sum up how much we miss you I will end with this: Gone Too Soon.
I love and miss you.
Love forever,

Dear Bridgett
Your aunt will always stay in your heart. Although you can't see her, feel her, talk to her, in your mind's eye you can always feel her presence. The soul is immortal. It cannot be destroyed, it cannot be cut, burned, wetted, or dried up. It is eternal, all pervading, unchanging, immovable, and primeval. Feel her through your love and touch her through your thoughts. I can only say this much to you as the almighty only can determine our fate.

She must have been a very special person and I wish I had known her personally. But there is the hope in Christ that you shall be with her again and that I will have the chance to meet her and be her friend. The one's who struck her down have suffered a far greater loss and don't have that assurance. "Let not your heart be troubled"

We are deeply sorry for your great loss of Carolyn. May precious memories of times shared lighten the sorrow in your hearts. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
