Once again I light this candle for Brenda Kegler. I light this candle to honor a person that came into my life and touched it for a moment but left memories that will out last us. Milestones together. Birth of children. Stories we shared of those children and our HARD HEAD HUSBANDS. Girl, I thank you for listening, thank you for caring and sharing. At that time in our young lives still trying to feel our way, learning to be wives & mothers. It helps to have someone to share these things with. Just for a little while - that is what we shared - just a little while - love to the girls -Bing & her brother

When I found out one of my best friends sister was taken to be with God as a result of the 9/11 tragedy, the full weight of our country and his personal loss hit home. I constantly pray for healing for her family and my boy Andre. Brenda's sacrifice will always be remebered.

We were neighbors of the Keglers when Brenda was pregnant with her youngest daughter. Moving to a new place it was so nice meeting a lovely person/family. To Bing - Belinda and the youngest daughter please know that if she had a choice in the matter she would still be here. Just know that we all miss her present but God apparently needed her more and I know shes up there doing his work. Robert/Alice Tolan & sons sends their condolences.

As time goes on the victims of that tragic day are never forgotten. At times we don't understand why bad things happen to good people. The pain of losing a loved one never goes away. It does get easier to cope with in time. May GOD bless all the loved ones of the victims that met their fate that day, and know that they didn't die alone. They know we're thinking of them each and everyday. May God be with you!

I visited with my family this summer and took this photo. I wanted my children to know what happened and how important it is to be respectful and remember. By chance it was Brenda's bench - http://www.flickr.com/photos/wallacefamily/3767319501/sizes/l/in/set-72157621755011963/
We are thinking of all our fellow Americans on this day, especially those that died on 9/11 - know that they are not forgotten.

One of The Healing Field exhibits was near my work in West Des Moines, IA. My company lost nearly 300 employees in NYC, including one on business from our IA office. I purchased a flag from The Healing Field in rememberance of those who perished. The yellow ribbon attached carried Brenda's name, age and location on 9/11/01. It will remain on my flag as it flies at my home. To her friends and family - we will remember.

Brenda was the last person, I spoke with before the accident. I was visiting her at desk. I had to go back to my office and that's when the plane hit. Our last words to one another, was see you later. She was wonderful and funny. I tried to get her to quite smoking. She was a wonderful woman.

Brenda was my first cousin, as we all know a fist cousin is so much like a sister or brother. We grew up as very close cousins. Sept 8, 2001 my family celebrated our family reunion at Brenda's house. Who would have thought 3 days later our world would be forever changed. Everyone tells me that GOD put my entire family together Sept 8th. We checked hospital after hospital, hoping she was just unable to phone home. We didn't know where Brenda was. DOD positively identified her body on 30 Sept. If crying is a source of weight loss, I must have lost 50lbs. Six months later I still wept, the pain is forever present, my heart is so, so, so, heavy, I can't seem to shake it.
Brenda and I were adults, but we were little cousins at heart. Lord please help my soul. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
