His heart, courage, and legacy will live on forever in the hearts of those who remember and honor him. He was a true hero. Sending peace, love, and strength to his family and all who knew him. Ron,
I often think of our times together as Army Interns. I was a I was a Joint Chiefs of Staff Intern & you was an Army Staff Intern. You got promoted to Major two months after I did. I remember during many of our intern trips you always talked about ensuring you Invest wisely into your kids education & was extremely financial savvy. I think you achieved that & more for your wife & kids. From the pictures I see on the internet they're beautiful & every you wanted them to be. You & my old Branch Mgr Captain Long were in the same meeting on this day. I miss you both and may GOD continue to bless your wife, kids, Mom & Dad, to include your entire ❤!

Another year has passed. I think of the families of those lost on 9/11 more often than annually... but it does hit home even more so at the anniversary. I have relocated and created a new blog. I am now posting to that new blog. The site is at http://wanderingwaco.blogspot.com/2017/09/god-bless-maj-ronald-milam-9112017.html.
As always, my thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Major Milam. Bless you all!

@ Del Newberry...may God bless you. What a warm heartfelt message! We really appreciate your continued prayers. I just learned of Pauls Valley since living here in Texas lol. You are right many people don't know of the smaller towns in Oklahoma...but I can truly say that GOOD hearted people are from our home state. Thank you again .

I make sure that I visit this legacy site each day and pray for a specific family who has lost a loved one in this tragedy. Several things caught my eye about Major Milam. He was US Army, like my Dad. I was a military brat, and we were also stationed in Germany at one time. My Dad served a stint in the Military District of Washington and I graduated from Woodbridge (VA) High School while there. My Dad made many trips to the Pentagon in his job.

Our family is also from Oklahoma. Parents were from Pauls Valley and Maysville, two little towns that most people never heard of. Most people probably never heard about Muskogee either except for the Merle Haggard song 'Okie from Muskogee'.

My Dad retired from the army, lives now in Texas, like I do. Noticed too that the Major has a sister here somewhere in Texas.

Just wanted the friends and especially the family to know that we honor and respect Major Milam and his service to our country. I pray today that God will pour an extra measure of blessings into your lives and may you feel His warm embrace as these prayers are lifted up for you today.

Much love from Texas,

Ales Grant

I came across an article about children whose fathers died on 9/11. I came across your picture. You and I have the same birthday, except I was exactly a month old when you died. That's what caught my attention. 9/11 has taught me so much. I wish I learned about you earlier, because I went to the National Arlington Cemetery last. I wish I could've left something for you. You're story will stick with me forever. It reminds me to be thankful for what I have. Please watch over your family. You are missed. Rest in peace.

Ronanld Milam, man...I have to admit I havent thought of your name for awhile, but you popped in my mind today. I remember when Bubba told me he thinks you might have been at the pentagon, but he wasnt sure. So, by chance today I remember you name and check and here I am. We met like most americans met in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; on the basketball court on the Raytheon compound. We all were crazy competetive. I was a Marine serving at the embassy at the time, and not really having the opportunity to mix with the other branches there outside the court. But, dude it was a pleasure ballin' wit you I am sorry for your families loss. God Bless.

To the Family and Friends of Maj Ronald D Milam,

I did not know Ronald, but did want to share the following. I participate in an annual memorial motorcycle ride called Americas911Ride. On the recent 10th anniversary ride, I was honored to receive Ronald as my assigned "hero". Every participant was given a card with basic information about a person who lost there life on that day. Having read this and other sites to learn about Ronald, I can only say that he sounds like the kind of person I would like to have known.

I grew up a military brat, the son of a career Army officer. Ronald sounds like an excellent mix of dedicated soldier, great family man, fun friend and reliable family member. I hope that his loved ones find peace and remember all the good things about Ronald.

I only wished to let you know that he had an honored place on the memorial ride and will continue to in the future.

While time has passed the memories of you, Jackie, and Myejoi have not. I often think about those days when you and Jackie would race to the door at the CDC to see who could get to Myejoi first...I loved the way you and Jackie loved each other so much!! Jackie had finally found everything she had dreamed of in you Ron. I feel so honored to have met you, Jackie and Myejoi. I also met Ron Jr when he was a baby but I also try to check to see how he is doing through articles in the media. I recently saw his picture and article in the People magazine and I must say that as you are watching over your family from heaven you have to be so proud of each of them! I didn't know Ron personally, however, my brother Col. Robert House did. He and Ron were like brothers. They were truly best friends. My son Nicholas and I visited Maryland the summer of 2003 and had the chance to meet Jackie, Maijoi and Ron Jr. We also visited the Memorial at the Pentagon where we made an imprint of Maj. Ronald D. Milam's name on a strip of paper. That was 4 years ago. I found that strip last night as I was speaking with my sister-in-law on the phone. It was sitting there on the dresser as if it had been there all along.
I know in my heart that Ron is with the angels, glorifying and honoring our God. Some may think he was taken too soon, but God doesn't make mistakes. His time is perfect.
Ron's spirit watches over his loved ones and he knows he is missed, and that he made an impact for the Lord.

It has taken me 5 Years to actually look at a picture or reach out in any kind of way. What's so funny is that I found out about Ron's death while airing a package about the Pentagon! My Bestest Friend Kristy Moore called me at work to tell me! (She passed also 2 yrs ago, so they are all together! :) I work in New York and had just moved there about a year before. I went to Eastern New Mexico Univeristy with Ron. Ron was a very sweet, smart and humble man. He was always kind to me. And always trying to get me to join ROTC. I joined! But found it was not my calling in life. I admire him because he knew what he wanted to do in life. And he did it... you go boy.. MAJOR Ronald D. Milam. He did say he wanted to get serious and go into the military. To his wife, child, and family, God will Bless you everyday of your life. It was an honor to have know Ron. An strong angel was called home to help God with other things. But best believe that he's watching over his family and friends. September 11th, 2001... I didnt think I had knew anyone harmed by the terror attacks. Then I see Ron's picture on our news. Though I know he is missed. I know he died wearing the uniform that meant freedom and died doing what God had sent him here to do. You are missed Ron! It was a pleasure to have met and know you. I lost my best Friend Michelle Myers who also went to Eastern. I remember that day saying "Michelle, I hope you are there waiting and welcoming Ron and I will see you both soon. I know that God puts people in our lives for reasons. Thank you for showing me that play time is after you work for what you want. God bless And love for the Milam family. OOOO how the Lord will protect you.

To the family of Maj. Ron Milam

I met Ron while in attending college at Eastern New Mexico University. I am a big basketball fan and attended almost every home game. I remember Ron's quiet yet strong demeaner. He even told me one time that if he heard of my grades falling I would have to answer to him. He would often encourage us to join the ROTC program. I often made the statement, "Why, I am not going to the Army.", but I actually did end up joining the Army. I think about that often. To his wife and children, I pray that you all are blessed and filled with the memories of the time you spent with Ron. May the Lord bless and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and give you PEACE!

Aunt Betty and now my Daddy - Fred

Nunley. I know that the family

reunion in Heaven is wonderful.

Thanks for the beautiful memories.

You would be so proud of your family. Your brother Steve has been

a solid rock for us all. He's taking

such good care of Effie, Stephanie,

Ashley, Cameron and Beebe, and now

his precious new baby girl -

Gabrielle. She's a "doll" Ron.

Until we meet again, dear cousin.

Love never ends.

The Milam Family,

I had the pleasure of meeting Ron in Germany, and was deeply saddened by such a tragedy. Yet, it was so awesome to learn that he had begun to wear the full armour of God. Jacqueline, may the Lord continue to empower you with strength and compassion as you raise your beautiful children. I know that Ron will be smiling down upon you, as he waits to see his lovely bride. May God Bless you!

I remember MAJ. Milam as a young LT stationed with me in Alpha Btry 5-7 ADA, Hanau, Germany. 1993. I did not know him very well, but I knew he was a great man. My prayers are with his family. Especially with his children. I hope they grow to learn how great their father was and will always be. I know he is holding a place in heaven for Jacquie and their childrin. God Bless you all.

I graduated with Ron from MHS in 1986. He always had a bright, cheerful smile and was so friendly to everyone.

May God bless all of his family. I think of him often, and know he is watching his children grow up and they will always know how wonderful of a father they had. They are lucky to have such a legacy.

I will say an extra prayer for you all today on 9/11/03. May God Bless you!

I was stationed with Maj Milam (then Captain) in Germany from 93-94. We both played basketball and I enjoyed getting to know Maj Milam. He was an exceptional officer and man, bright and interesting to talk to...driven to serve the Army to the best of his ability. Above all, he was fun to be around and very kind. He treated everyone with the same respect regardless of rank...it was always an honor to salute him in those moments around base when we would both be in uniform. God Bless you Maj Milam!
