Pauline Tull-Francis Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 19, 2001.
Singer With Dance Moves
Pauline Tull-Francis lent her operatic soprano voice to her church and largely reserved her dance moves for family gatherings, where she would be on the dance floor the first chance she got, said her daughter, Debby Williams. A native of Barbados, Ms. Tull- Francis, 56, was partial to reggae, calypso and other rhythms of the Caribbean, but she could also groove to Ella Fitzgerald and Celine Dion.

Ms. Tull-Francis, who lived in Brooklyn with her husband and had four grown children and five grandchildren, was also a nurturer with a big, radiant smile. "She was always feeding someone," Ms. Williams said. "She just had to cook."

A food-service employee at Cantor Fitzgerald, she also helped feed traders on the 104th floor of 1 World Trade Center, where she started her workday at 6 a.m. Among the condolences that poured in after her body was recovered a week after the attacks, one in particular touched her family deeply. It came from a woman who had never met her but whose husband, a broker who was also killed, had often told her how wonderful Ms. Tull-Francis was. "That was confirmation of the kind of person my mom was," Ms. Williams said. "She had a big heart. She hated to see people hungry."

Dearest Momma P,
I wish I had the opportunity to meet you. Your memory lives on in the storytelling of your dear daughter. She tells me we have so much in common and that you and I would have shared some wonderful times in the kitchen. I thank you boundlessly for sending her to me. She has enriched my life in so many ways in such a very short time. Please watch over her...over us...and send us your blessing.
With the greatest respect and adoration,
Malka

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.love you and miss you mom.and to all other families like us, Our hearts cry with you. may god bless all of us.

The happiest thing is finding out that you have a family member that works a hop skip and jump away from you and that you can finally meet a side of your family that you have never met. The saddest thing is finding our that this same family member has been snatched away from you before you had a chance to meet them and get to know them. I attended Pauline's funeral and met one of her daughters. You can tell that Pualine was well loved and a lovely human being just by speaking to her children.
I just want to say God Bless her children and grandchildren. Do not allow anyone to take away the beautiful memories that you all have of her. Always remember that she is smiling over you all and protecting each of your steps for she is truly an angel for each of you.

To her children and her grandchildren - keep her laughter in your hearts and her love in your minds and souls.

To remember the victims of September 11th, each student and faculty member at my high school received a star with a name of one of the victims on it. I got the one with the name Pauline Francis. All day I thought about what she must have been like and what she looked like. I finally got a chance to look on the internet and see a picture of her. She must have been an awesome lady and I am blessed to have been able to learn of her. I will think of her each year on September 11th!

My son Walker is in second grade at Seabreeze Elementary in Jacksonville Beach, Fl. During the week of Sept. 11, 2002 he came home with a letter asking if we would like to accept a seedling to honor the life of a victim of the 9/11 attacks. We talked about it and agreed. We had no idea how much it would touch us. Although we live in Florida, we did have friends in the Trade Center who survived, but also who are dealing with loss. When my two sons jumped in the car on Sept. 11, 2002 to show me the tree with Pauline's name, I started to cry. The boys really don't understand what happened and why on Sept. 11, but they do understand that many people died because of a sick group of people, and a beautiful woman with a big heart is gone because of it. We have read the notes about Pauline and talked about how sad it is for your family. You have lost such a beautiful lady. Our prayers are with you. We have planted the little tree in our yard to remember the events of 9/11 and to remember your Mother, Sister, Friend, Wife, and loved one Pauline Tull-Francis.

Pauline, you always had a smile for me on my daily trips to the kitchen. When they combined the kitchens your work was tripled, the lines were ridiculous. Thanks for letting me call you and knowing you would take care of me without making me wait in line. We had alot of laughs. I wish the best for your family. I will never forget you Pauline.

Seeing this picture of Pauline I wish I would have met her as I can see her heart shining in her smile. She must have been a wonderful person. Our hearts cry with you.

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

I was a broker for Cantor for almost 20 years and left November of 2000. I could always count on Pauline for a big smile and an even bigger hug. She always made me happy. After I left I stopped up there again to see her and it was wonderful. My deepest sympathies go out to you and your family. You are all in my prayers. She spoke about all of you all the time and you could see how much she loved her family.

To the Francis family and friends--

Although you are light, your thoughts reach for darkness. Because you reach for darkness, you are gradually dragged into darkness. You only need to hold yourself steadily within the light, but this may not be easy to do. So, what I suggest is that you merge into God and light though prayer. Merging into God and light means entering the light of your true Self.

....The Wisdom of Masahia Goi

My paryers and light are with you.

Peace/Love!
