I knew Donnie Robertson and his father Donald from the South Orange Sunday evening softball league during my time as an umpire. Two nicer guys you couldn't find -- great father and son duo. Always happy, smiling and lots of fun umpiring the Robertson games. Can't believe 20 years have gone by since that fateful day, a day I walked through that very Trade Center on my way to work at the Federal Reserve Bank of NY. My reflections are many and my heart goes out to the Robertson family.

Hello, My name is Wayne Robertson. I live in Salem Oregon. We have a 9/11/01 U.S Flag in our Church, with all the names of Our Heroes. So, I looked to see if there was a Robertson. Cried when I saw the last name. I know we are not related, but I am Praying for your Robertson Family on this 15th. Anniversary. God Bless Your Family!

Karen,I have not seen you or talked to in many years, but I have thought about you over the years. I actually went to high school with Donnie and Elizabeth. He was a good guy. I know that your memories of Don have carried you through this despicable tragedy. The whole country mourns with you. Teresa has told me what a beautiful family you have. Take care of yourself. It's been a beautiful day here in Missouri. Mr. Dieman and I have been painting our front porch. Your family has been on my heart these past two weeks but especially through this day. I'm so glad to see Don's face and feel immensely privileged to be 'in this place'. Know that you and your family are in our hearts and prayers, sweet Patty.

Don,
John and I think of you often. I still carry the picture of our kids at the Devils v Rangers game in my wallet. We miss you so very much and there are times when I know you are definitely with us. Your children are all so beautiful and I know we will meet again. You were an angel on earth and now one in heaven. Until we meet again... know that we miss you and have you in our prayers forever.

Karen and your children went to a special service on 9/11 and I looked at them and thought what a beautiful family you gave to all of us. There is hardly a day that goes by that you are not in our thoughts. There will never be another Pied Piper like you.

I pray for Don and will continue to pray for his family. I remember him as a cheerful, outgoing, and very kind man with a great sense of humor and caring nature. I share his love for Ireland and whenever I have the chance to go back, will try to remember him in a special way. A friend

Its been 6 years now. I just wanted to remember the times playing Allstar ball with Donnie back in South Orange in the 1970's. Great lefty swing. playing kazoos on the bench between innings and driving Chris Edmondson crazy. God Bless

Wow, After all of this time I still can't believe you're gone. I can remember walking by your house after school in the 4th grade wondering when you were going to jump out and chase Jon and I down the street and tackle us and make us say "You're The Best, Mr. Robertson". Well, let me say, You are the best, Mr. Robertson. You are missed very much.

Donnie. Our friendship started one day when we were 9 years old (in the field by Gigger's house) and blossomed into a lifetime friendship. From our days with the Leaders (#9 & #10) through SHP, to our many meetings in Giants Stadium parking lot before games. Your friendship (and humor) is something that I will always cherish. Your family and friends are very proud of you and miss you dearly.

Thank you for being David's Guardian Angel while he was in Iraq. On his way home to the US he stopped in Ireland then JFK where he got to view ground zero.
He got emotional because you were the reason he was in Iraq (twice) fighting. Semper Fi.

May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields and
until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Donny and my brother Al were great friends growing up, so I had the pleasure of having him at my house all of the time. Everyone is right, his smile could light up the room. My whole family misses you, and our hearts go out to the Robertson family.

As I sat at a 4th of July Celebration and saw the flag, both your sister in law Alison and I cried for you and how much you are missed by our family. The American Flag has more meaning for me now than ever before, everytime I see it, I think of you. You will always be remembered, loved and missed.

I work at Keystone Mercy Heal Plan here in Philadelphia.
We had a service on 9/11/02 to remember, we shall never forget.
Each employee was given the name of a person who lost their life in the 911 event, we were asked to pray for them and their loved ones.
I was given Donald's name.
My God bless all of you, always.
You are in my prayers and my Don rest in peace.

I think about you almost everyday. You were a great person and a awesome father! I never seen you without a big smile on your face, and you always got the people around you to laugh. You and Andrew Spencer were so much alike and not until recently I found out you two worked together. I use to babysit for Andrews children. You were both great people and will be missed.

Donny will always be remembered as a great friend and teammate. I was lucky enough to play with him on the ice and he was always the first guy to stand up for you when it got rough. Professionally, I was also able to see how hard Donny worked and how well respected he was by his peers. His infectious laugh and great attitude on life will be sorely missed. We are all priviledged to have known such a great man.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

TRY TO UNDERSTAND
I'll lend you for a little time a child of mine, He said ...
For you to love the while he lives ... and mourn for when he's dead.
It may be six or seven years, or twenty-two and three,
But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me?
He'll bring his charms to gladden you. And shall his stay be brief,
You'll have his lovely memories as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay, since all from Earth return.
But there are lessons, taught down there, I want this child to learn.
I've looked the wide world over in search for teachers true,
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes, I have selected you.
Now ... will you give him all your love ... nor think the labor in vain?
Nor ... hate me when I come to call ... to take him back again?
I fancied that I heard them say ... Dear Lord, Thy will be done!
For all the joy Thy Child shall bring, the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness. We'll love him while we may,
And for the happiness we've known ... forever grateful stay.
But shall the angels call for him much sooner than we've planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes ... and try to understand.
