Dominick

I was sadden to find out that my classmate was lost on September 11th. I have fond memories of saying hello to you in the hallways and in home room. You were always kind and friendly. Every year on this day, just know you're always in my thoughts.

September 11, 2016

I am sorry for your loss, I went to HS with Dominick and remember him fondly.

On September 11, 2001 I was a freshman in high school. After that day my school had a fundraiser for the families of the victims where we sold bracelets engraved with the names of people who lost their lives that day. My bracelet had your name on it. I have kept that bracelet ever since. I also find your name on every 9/11 memorial I have ever visited, including ground zero. I just wanted you to know that even though I never knew you I will never forget you and think of you always.

I work at an all girls Catholic high school in Sierra Madre, CA. Every year we have a prayer service and every year they hand out a heart with the name of one of the deceased of 9/11. Today I got your name. I am honored to wear it today and will continue to wear it in my heart forever.

Dom,

Its been 11 years since that horrible day. I remember it all too well. I was very fortunate to have had met you and been your friend. Always willing to lend a hand and be there when you someone needed something. I am really sorry we lost touch after junior high. I remember my mom telling me you called our house after college looking for me. We never had the chance to reconnect. You are missed but never forgotten.

Dear Dominick,
Although I never knew you, you have been a recent phenomenon in my family's life. My family never knew anyone that passed away on that horrific day, however, it had and will always impact our lives as if we did. My brother went to NYC this past week to visit the memorial falls and absolutely refused to look down at the names so it would be impossible to relate a name to the memorial. He was just finishing looking down into the second waterfall and was about to turn around and leave when you pushed his head to make him look down. Engraved below his face was our last name with the name Dominick in front of it. In that exact instant, he can now only relate that memorial to you and as he shared the pictures of the memorial with my family, we all do the same. With the last name Berardi, you are considered family, even if we are not related. You and your family will forever be in my prayers and thoughts. As well as live in our hearts forever.

Dear Dominick,

Me and you never formally meet, but I am now a member of your family. A few days before Sept 11th I started to get to know your younger brother. Not knowing at the time that he would eventually become my husband. I am sorry that I never got to meet you and hear all the stories you had to tell. You are very lucky to be a part of this loving family and now I feel lucky to be a part of it as well. Our family will always miss you and you will be forever in our hearts.

Love (your sister in-law)

Dominick,

I have known you since our days in High School. Thank you for being such a great friend. You were really down to earth, had a great sense of humor and really genuine. We always kept in touch with each our concerning our lives and for that I am very thankful. I remember how we performed our community service requirement in the gymnasium during High School and we used to talk everyday before morning classes. I remember how you would tell me about your days working in the Blockbuster video store and how excited your were working in the WTC. You were such an inspiration for all of us. Your family and friends I know were very proud. Dom, we all miss you alot buddy. God Bless you and your family.

When I am dead, my dearest

When I am dead, my dearest,
Sing no sad songs for me;
Plant thou no roses at my head,
Nor shady cypress tree:
Be the green grass above me
With showers and dewdrops wet;
And if thou wilt, remember,
And if thou wilt, forget.

I shall not see the shadows,
I shall not feel the rain;
I shall not hear the nightingale
Sing on, as if in pain:
And dreaming through the twilight
That doth not rise nor set,
Haply I may remember,
And haply may forget.

My heartfelt condolences to the Berardi family. Through reading these pages, may you be comforted by the knowledge that Dominick made such a wonderful impression upon so many people who knew him. Dominick and I were classmates at Holy Cross. We had different circles of friends, but our lockers were next to each others and we sat next to each other in home room for four years. I saw him every day for those four years, and I never once saw him be anything but friendly and kind to anyone he met. Mainly, I remember him smiling. He was a truly exceptional human being, and his passing is all the more saddening to me because we need more people like Dominick.

Dear Dominick,

We became friends when we worked

together at Blockbuster. You were

always a great help. You even tutored Ryan in math and Spanish.

Some days you would stay for dinner

Ryan always made us laugh. I also

remember the day you were so happy

when Davey Wells pitched a no-hitter

You wore your Yankee Jacket with

pride.You then followed Eric to

work at Cantor Fitzgerald. You were

much happier there. I still have

the Yankee shirt you bought me.

Ryan sends his best to you.You were

a great friend. Love, Linda

I knew you not.

Yet I know you now.

I did not know how much you were loved, but I do now. I have seen the tears in your Uncle Tony's eyes, heard the crack in his voice, and felt the longing in his heart. You I did not know and yet, you I do know now.

I know you are loved. I know you are cherished. I know you are missed. That is all I need to know to know you.

May we meet again through all your friends.

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
