Wished I would have met him. I'm a distant relative and only knew thru picture my daughter LALI showed me at the time. It was thru heard of him here in EAST CHICAGO. HE SOUNDS LIKE MY SON TOO. HE TOO IS A RETIRED FIRE FIGHTER. JOSE's PICTURE IS ON ALL OUR HOMES. MAY HE REST ON PEACE.

You remain in my daily prayers, along with your family. Although my Mercy Band bearing your name is quite old, tarnished & nearly ready for splitting in two, I occasionally place it on my wrist. I will never forget your sacrifice & the sacrifice of so many others. Rest peacefully & know you are not forgotten.

Another year has passed. You & your family, along with all those lost on this sad day remain in my prayers. The Mercy band worn on my right wrist bearing your name remains a daily reminder for those who may ask about it during my travels today. I always take time to explain who you were in life & the greatest sacrifice you made. I will never forget. Rest peacefully, brave hero.

As I’ve promised since the day I received my Mercy Band bearing your name, I have worn it daily & have kept you & your family in my prayers. Rest peacefully & know that I will never forget that horrific day or the sacrifice you & so many others made.

Twenty years. Saying it aloud seems like so long ago, but it feels like yesterday. I’ll never forget watching the horror from across the river, in New Jersey. I’ve relocated across the country earlier this year & since I still wear my silver mercy band bearing your name, Jose, I sometimes get questioned about it. That’s when I have an opportunity to remind others never to forget that day. I continue to keep you & your family in my daily prayers. The passage of time, I’m certain, has not diminished how deeply you are missed by your family & friends. May you continue to rest peacefully. You are not forgotten.

Another year has passed. I promised to keep you and your family in my daily prayers until my time comes and I will keep that promise. I wear the silver Mercy Band bearing your name so others will also remember your sacrifice when they ask me about it. I pray your family finds some peace in knowing that you are remembered as the brave hero you were while on this earth. May you continue to rest peacefully.

Always keeping you and your family in my daily prayers. Still wearing the silver mercy band bearing your name and engine company on my right wrist each day. Its 18 years now and this day continues to bring me great sadness, but nothing even comparable to what your family and friends must feel every day. This has been my promise to you, to honor your memory and to remember the sacrifice you made, and to remember all those who lost their lives that day. I will never forget. Rest In Peace, brave hero. Que Dios te tenga a su lado.

Another year has passed, but as I placed my Mercy band bearing your name onto my wrist this morning, I said a prayer for you & your family, as I do every day. This has been my promise, my way of honoring your memory & your sacrifice, as well as all the others who lost their lives that sad day. I will never forget. Rest peacefully among the angels, brave man.

Dear Jose,
It's hard to believe 15 years have passed and that a new batch of high-school Freshmen not even born on that tragic day will learn about 9/11 in their history classes. The memories of all those lost that awful September morning remain in my thoughts today. Each morning, when I place the silver mercy band bearing your name on my wrist, I say a silent prayer for you and your family. Certainly you are deeply missed by them and live in their hearts always. Rest peacefully, brave angel. Que Dios te bendiga.

Dear Jose, tomorrow marks the 14th anniversary of the tragic event that rocked our nation & took yours and so many others' precious lives. From the first time I wrote here in your memory and throughout the years, I vowed that I will always keep you and your family in my daily prayers. I still do, and your name remains on my wrist, as I wear my mercy band daily. Your sacrifice is not forgotten. I recall reading that you enjoyed playing guitar and were a Hendrix fan ~ and so tomorrow night, when I perform with my band, it will be dedicated entirely in memory of you. Rest peacefully, brave soul. I will never forget.

My silver wrist band bearing your name is frequently asked about & I never hesitate to tell others the little bit I know of you from this page. I feel it's the least I can do to honor your memory and the memory of so many others who gave all that horrible day. Rest peacefully, Hero.

Tony I'm still shock that you were one of the brave firefighters killed on 9/11. We never meant again after our childhood, you were like my first crush. We had a lot of fun growing up, but often missed seeing you come around until time just started passing and I grew up, but I never forgot about you. May you rest in peace in the loving arms of our Father, until we meet again. Your childhood friend, Nyoma

Jose, another year has passed and I still bear your name on my wrist. Well, the silver Mercy Band I wear daily does not have the brilliant shine it once had. But I assure you that the memories of that awful day, and all the sadness it meant to so many, remain strong. You will never be forgotten. You live in the hearts of your family and those who knew and loved you. As always, I will keep you and your family in my daily prayers. Rest peacefully, brave angel.

I remember you on this day my friend as one of the coolest, most laid back, genuinely good people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. I was so saddened to learn of your passing on that fateful day 11 years ago, but I find comfort in knowing you sacrificed your life so others might live. Though we lost touch after August Martin High School I will forever cherish the memories and will always consider you a dear friend. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and loved ones on this day...may God continue to comfort and strengthen them. Til we meet again my friend...FALCON 4 LIFE!

Dear Jose,
Ten years. I'm certain your family and friends miss you just as much today as they did ten years ago. People say, "Never forget." I never will. I wear your name on my wrist every day; oh, the silver Mercy Band is a bit tarnished and scratched, but it will be there until my last day. That much I promise, to honor your memory and the others, too. You and your family will remain in my daily prayers. Fly with the angels, brave one. May peace be with you.

Dear Jose,
Although the years have marched on and life has continued, today time stands still while our country mourns again, remembering you and all the other innocent souls senselessly lost nine years ago. I still keep you and your family in my daily prayers as I promised long ago. I wear my mercy band daily, bearing your name around my wrist. People still ask ~ and hear your story ~ even if just the very little I know of it from your page here. Thank you for the ultimate sacrifice you made. You will never be forgotten. Rest peacefully in the arms of the angels, brave one.

Dear Jose,
Today marks the 8th year since you and so many other good, innocent people were lost. I had received a Mercy Band bearing your name back in June 2002 and I have been wearing it since that day. Although it tarnished and broke, then had to be replaced, I intend to wear it the rest of my lifetime. It is truly still an honor to wear your name on my wrist and I shall never forget that terrible day. My promise remains, too, that I will include you and your family in my prayers the rest of my days. As I have always said, perhaps one day we shall meet "on the other side." Rest peacefully in the arms of the angels, brave soul. Que Dios te tenga en su gloria.

I never had the privelege to meet you or any of the other hero's that went into the WTC that fatefull day, but as a survivor, I thank you for your bravery, dedication and ultimate sacrifice. I know that you, as well as the rest of the others lost that day are resting in peace and watching over your loved ones. Know that you are gone but you will never be forgotten. May you have eternal light. I hope to meet you one day so that I could shake your hand and thank you personally for your selfless act.

Dear Jose,
I promised, when I received my Mercy Band bearing your name, that I would never forget you - or all the others who lost their lives six years ago tomorrow. It's still hard to believe what happened that day. It doesn't feel like six years have passed, but I imagine your family and friends miss you as if it's 600 years! I pray for you nightly, and for your family. Each morning when I awake, I place the Mercy Band on my wrist and take your memory with me on my daily journeys. People still ask, from time to time, what this silver band is and who you are. I always tell them about you and direct them to this site so they can read about you themselves. In this way, I find comfort in knowing that you and all the others will not be forgotten. Fly with the angels, beautiful soul, and one day we'll meet on the other side. Que Dios te tenga en su gloria.

Dear Jose,
On this day, the fifth anniversary of our country's saddest day, I come again to your guestbook, and again, I read about you, I read the words others have written, and I look at your photo. Five years have passed and it stills feels like just yesterday. As I promised back when I received my Mercy Band bearing your name, I will remember you daily and keep you and your family in my prayers. I still continue to wear the band bearing your name and these past few months, I have spoken to strangers about you, when they have asked what the band means. I hope you are resting peacefully and one day, may we meet on the other side. Que Dios te tenga en su gloria.
