Diane Parsons Obituary

Aiming to Please

Ask anyone, Diane Moore Parsons treated people like royalty. Ask her husband, Howard Parsons, what she did in her free time.

"Spoil me," he said.

Her guinea pigs ate carefully prepared salad, and she had special wildlife peanut butter for the squirrels. She would iron the underwear of her loved ones, even after they protested.

Her son Frank Tatum remembers how his sister had a cat so ornery that it was about to get her evicted. Suddenly, it belonged to Mrs. Parsons and was pleasant.

"Within two weeks that mean cat became like a big, spoiled couch cushion," he said. "Just a little time around my mother . . ."

Mrs. Parsons, 58, of Malta, N.Y., was a tax technician at the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, visiting the World Trade Center on business. "She was drop-dead gorgeous and totally unselfish," Mr. Parsons said of his wife of two years, who was also called Dani (he'd spell it Danny). On his kitchen table, underneath all the paperwork pertaining to Sept. 11, Mr. Parsons recently found the last birthday card she had sent him, which expressed how much she loved him. "That just broke me up today," he said.

Dani is my God Mother. My mother Patty Anne took Dani(who was like 11 years younger) to a Mechanicville movie theater to see the movie "Bambi". When David and I where like 11, Cliff and Dani took us to see "Bambi" That's what I call Full Circle. Dani was my cousin, because of age difference My Aunt plus Clifton Tatum will Always be the Barton kids uncle.

To the family of Diane Parsons: Shortly after the 9/11 tragedy, my mother, my mother, Mary Plocki Moller told me that her mother, Louise Moore Plocki had had a niece who worked in one of the towers and had died that day. On a recent trip to NYC, I visited the 9/11 memorial, located Diane's inscription, and was encouraged by a friend to capture an impression of the inscription with a paper and crayon impression. While I did not know Diane personally (though we may have met at one of the Moore reunions), I did want to reach out to her survivors and let you all know that her extended family is thinking of you. Diane (Dani) was not only a good person she was a fantastic cousin. I miss her very much and always will. I still pray to her every night. The one thing I remember about her was when she was younger, she wore so much make-up you really could not see how pretty she really was. But that was Dani.

David,Karen and Frankie, I just wanna say, when my brother George was staying at my Mom's house (dying from lung cancer)your Mom was the only one George wanted to see. George was always a to himself person, and even more so when he was sick. Your Mom made his day whenever she stopped and visited with him. I just wanna say i am so sorry, and it probably sounds odd for me to say, but George didnt smile often, but i bet he's smiling now that he has such a Wonderful and Kind Cousin up there to talk to. your cousin Patrick

To the family of Diane Parsons

On the anniversary of September 11, here in Brownwood, Texas this community wanted to do something special on this day to remember all the families who lost their loved ones, so we got to chose a name of one of the victims in New York, the Pentagon and in Pennsylvania and continue to pray for them throughout this year. On that night we lite a candle, prayed and want to let you know that they are not forgotten. Texas may be far from you but we are all family in Christ.

I am praying for you and reading the tribute here on the internet about Diane and her family mades it more personal. May God bless you and I pray that you will receive the strength that you will need to get through each and every day.

Dear family of Parsons Diane M M,

I'm just an ordinary boy from Belgium, Europe, but that's not really true. You might have heard somthing from the 'ROLLING REQUIEM'. On september 11th, in more than 25 countries all over the world, thousands of singers come around and sang Mozart's Requiem as a tribute to the victimes of 9/11.

I sung along in Brussels, Belgium with the boys choir 'Schola Cantorum Cantate Domino' what means sing to the Lord.On those concerts all over the world everybody who sung weared a badge with one victim's person on it for each. The victim I sang for was your beloved Diane. So each victim had a voice over the world. It was emotional but it was quite an experience. I traced the name of Diane and I just wanted to say how sorry I am for you and for Diane.Much like other people I was close the attacks on 9/11. My depthmother and her husband and their child lived in Atlanta for 2 years.I visited the United States yet once in 1997 on a concert tour. I can imagine that things will never be the same again. I want to comfort you that Diane still had a voice and she will always have in my heart. Sincereley yours, Klaas

Howard and family and Frank, Karen, and Dave.

I am so sorry for your loss,Dani was such a special person and as long as I have known her she always would have the brighest smile and when she would speak to you, you knew she was focusing fully on you, when she would look at you, you could see the warmth and love in her eyes. She had the most beautiful eyes. She was full of life, and love and you could see this in her the moment you looked at her.

She will be greatly missed.

My Love to you all and know that you will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

May God Bless you.

Hi, my name is Ryan Perlowin and I just wanted to say that today, September 11th, 2002, I carried a card about your loved one, Mrs. Parsons, around with me all day in honor of her. I just wanted to tell you that I was honored to be able to carry around her card and sort of get to know her in my own special way. I know you must be going through a lot of pain and suffering right now, but I just want to tell you how bad I feel and send my condolences.

My condolences,

Dani, today is the anniversary of this terrible tragedy, yet we can still see your beautiful face and feel your presence with us, each and every day. You were a gentle, kind, and very giving woman, and we were very fortunate to have you as our neighbor. Reggie and Wrigley miss your generosity as well. Each and every day we are out in our garden, we think of you, and the beautiful garden that you kept as well. Your flowers still flourish. Our hearts go our to Howie and the rest of your family. There is a void next door, but you will always be remembered. May god bless you now and always. You are an angel looking down at each one of us, and that is certaily a comfort. You are missed!

I remember the warm smile, and the comfort of a hug, from a woman I barely knew. I was told I met Diane on several occasions, while visiting my father, Bill, at his office. My dad and Diane worked together at Tax and Finance. The last time I met Diane was at the open house of the Bishop's Gate resturant she and Howard owned. She told me I turned into a beautiful woman, I was 32. I told her the same. I know Diane will be missed by everyone she has touched. She IS a beautiful woman.

I wanted to send condolences to families of September 11th- but there are so many- But then-I found Diane's tribute, and we share a last name- so I thought I would try and send comfort to her family. My life has been forever changed since the events on that fateful day- as I am sure yours have, too. Just know that you are in the prayers of so many Americans- not just ones you share a name with. May God bless you- and help you keep all the good memories close at hand.

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
