Hello to the Marino family. I send my condolences for the loss of Lester Vincent. In my city our Associated Ministries made up small cards with the names of the victims of the 9-11 tragedy. I picked Lester's name and I am making a donation to a local charity in his name. It is called Phoebe House. It is a non-profit agency that provides emergency shelter & transitional housing to homeless women and their children. The organization was in danger of closing recently but the community has come together to revitalize & continue its services to women of Tacoma.
God bless you, the loved ones of Lester Vincent Marino. Sincerely, Ellie

I did not know Lester Marino but knew his daughter for a short time at SUNY New Paltz. I thankfully did not know anyone who died in the WTC but wanted to send my prayers to his family. To his family, I am so sorry for your tragic loss. Lester and each American who gave their life on 9-11 will be in my prayers tomorrow. G-d bless us all.

I was recently asked to take part in a worldwide quilt project, United in Memory, which entailed making up a quilt block for a 9/11 victim. These blocks will all be made up into one huge quilt. I 'chose' Lester & his story has touched my heart. Though I may be on the other side of the world & didn't know anyone involved, I have now myself become involved I guess. Many tears were shed as I sewed, thinking about Lester & his family. I have been unable to make contact with his family & would love to, without intruding on their grief. Perhaps someone will read this & contact me? I shall post details of the block as soon as it appears on the website. I used fabric with fish on it for the block, I think Lester would have approved! It has been my honour to do this small thing in his memory. Bless you all, family & friends. Kim x

Lester Marino was honored by my Senior English students at Leonia High School in Leonia, N.J. Our holiday door was dedicated to remembering those who lost their lives on 9/11. Mr. Marino was selected and his picture is on our door under a sign saying "You will always be in our hearts."

When we were kids our families would visit, at a holiday gathering or an occasional weekend dinner. Lester's mother Ethel and my mom were cousins and we lived nearby on Long Island.
Rest in peace, Lester.

What a wonderful fish story. We are very sorry for your loss of Lester. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
