Remembering Yelena on the 22nd anniversary of 9-11. Rest in Peace

September 11, 2020

Yelena, you are remembered today. Your life is celebrated. May God continue blessing your loved ones. May your soul know we remember

Boris Yagudayev

My name is Boris. My family and I visited the 9/11 Memorial and I searched Yelena's name. I heard from someone many years ago that Yelena perished on that tragic day 17 years ago. All this years I was not sure, but yesterday, I found her, while searching the database at the museum. I was working as a security officer at JBFCS, an office building on 57th St. I remember a vibrant, stunningly beautiful, with radiant smile young Yelena, who at the time was working for the IT department at JBFCS headquarters. Our way parted, but I hoped that it was not true that she was gone. So, for 17 years, she remained in my memory as if she was alive. I wish she remain this way always.... Live is short, but it is even shorter when a person is the age that Yelena was. Truly saddest thing that make it harder to understand. One thing is for sure, all of us, are bond by "SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION," where each person knows a sixth person, somehow, through someone. I knew Yelena, spoke to her and she used to stop at my desk for a quick chat, with ever beautiful smile on her face and always with kind words.

Rest in peace Yelena. You are remembered and while you are remembered you will live forever in our thoughts and memories.

Sincerely,

Boris Yagudayev

Hello!

I met Lena only once. I stayed over in their house in Brooklyn. And Lena invited me to the WTC next day - August 20, 2001 - about 3 weeks before 9/11/01. She shown me the WTC I inside from 96 to 102 floors. We were sitting in this famous restaurant at 102 floor and talking for about 2 hours. I made pictures of sightseeings through the windows , she was all the time right next to me . I don't know why, but I wanted to make a picture of her. For some reasons I didn't. Also when we were in restaurant I wanted to tell her about God, so I did. May be I didn't tell everything what I was supposed to tell... I thought that we would meet again, that we would become friends. I liked her very much. We talked about everything. She told me her plans for future, what she wanted to do in her life... I'm sorry if I cause a pain by my testimony. I wanted to have her picture... Now I've printed out one.

I believe in God, and I truly believe that Lena is in the Heaven now. I know it's hard anyway for all people who love her. But if you find God in your hearts, at some point you will meet Lena. Just now you cannot see her, talk to her... But if you live for God you will meet her.

I pray for you - her parents, and for her son.

May God keep you safe everywhere, bless you a lot! May God give you a faith!

My name is Inna. I used to work with Lena. It's already a year, but I still cannot believe she is gone.

She was a very nice warm person, full of life, wonderful mother. I still can hear her running in the hall, picture her at the table near my table in our office.

Lena, you always will be in our hearts !

Let her rest in peace !

Your friends from JBFCS.

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

I worked with Yelena last year on several projects. She was a very warm and personable person. She took great pride and personal responsibility in all of her endeavors. She deeply loved her son, her husband, her parents and sister. She strived to achieve greatness. She has ... in the hearts of all who knew her. My condolences to her family.
