I think about him during the anniversaries of 9/11 and wondering if perhaps we were distant relatives. I recently did the ancestry DNA and I found some relatives that lived in NY.

A few months ago I visited the 9/11 memorial. I walked up to the area where all the names of the victims were on display. The very first person I came up to was Robert Pugliese. I'm not sure if we were related since we have the same last name but it did make me wonder out of all the names I could have first approached why Robert. Rest in Peace.

I remember Robert visiting us at the Jersey Shore when we were youngsters. He was an avid Yankee Fan and I was a Met Fan. We had such great fun during those times....

I am proud to dedicate my Facebook status to you, a family man, a loving father and husband, today. I have 3 children myself and a loving wife. The Ford Thunderbird has always been one of my all-time favorite cars, and the Yankees are unarguably the greatest baseball team of all time. I am truly sorry that I never had the chance to meet you; I'll bet that we would have been good friends. You will always be remembered.

I had the privilege to meet Mr. Robert Pugliese at Ms. Josephine home one day. My wife Margie Medina worked with Ms. Joan Favure @ Roosevelt High School in The Bronx. He was visiting with Ms. Josephine this day that I met him. It was an honor to have met him. It was an honor to have partaken with his family as well.
It was a brief meeting. In that short time I knew he was a great person. God Bless. From the Medina Family I would like to extend our condolences to you and family.

Dear family of Robert Pugliese, I want to let you know I still pray for your families strength through this time. I have a bracelet with his name on it from our church given December after the attacks to remember him. Its great to see his picture here and connect a face to the name. I hope time has eased your pain a little, please know America will NEVER forget what happened that day. We were all devastated and mourn together as a country. Please know your family is in my prayers, and always will be.

I only knew Bob long distance on the internet. Even then, his love of life, family, and baseball was very apparent. Getting an email from the man we knew as "Ace" was sure to make you smile, no matter how bad your day was going.
We miss you, Ace. But we are better people for having known you.

Robert played fantasy Baseball. His manager name was "Ace." The name of his league was "Riverstick." I joined that league in 2002, at which time it was re-named "Riverstick Aces." His memory lives on.

Bob and my husband Bill worked with our girls on the East Fishkill softball team together. Bob would come to the game in his suit from work and start right in keeping score and cheering the team on. He always was smiling and seemed like a gentle soul. Maureen is still in the area and we have spoken in the last few months. It is still so hard to believe this happened. The Pugliese family is a very warm and loving family. We think of them often and keep them in our prayers.

I worked with Bob at American Life and Mutual of America. I left work about 11 years ago to stay at home and raise my children. I recently contacted my old boss at MOA and found out about the tragic loss of Bob in the 9/11 attacks. I've been walking around with a heavy heart now knowing that Bob died in the WTC attacks. I just assumed all these years he was still at MOA. I fondly remember Bob, he was always happy and extremely helpful (I was the auditor for ALIC). I'm so sorry, my thoughts and prayers are with your family.

I attended school with Lisa, the daughter of Robert Pugliese, for many years and knew her through our school's Symphonic Band. My condolences and wishes got out to your family. I remember seeing Robert at a few of my jobs around town and I remember he was always smiling and very polite. I know there really is nothing I can do to ease your pain, but please remember that not only does he smile and look down upon you from heaven, but he is always with you.

Hello, my family and friends call me TONY. I was watching the reading of the names who were taken from us on 9/11/01 and saw your loved one`s name . I was surprised to see my last name listed in the reading of names! My name was originally spelled the same way before my GrandFather immigrated to the U.S. in 1920. I don`t know if there is any relation or not but I know that there isn`t a lot of people with the same last name on the east coast; while in Lasvegas there was only 2 in the entire phone book. Please accept my sincerest grief for your loss. We were all affected on that terrible day and your loved one is now in a wonderful place, HEAVEN. May GOD bless you and your family for your loss, and give you the strength to carry on and not be bitter, God will win out in the end. Gaetano(TONY)Puglisi

Dear Family of Robert Pugliesi:
I received Robert's name at my church last week. I have been praying for you all and you have been in my thoughts. From the messages in the guest book I can imagine Robert was a wonderful man and cared very much for his family. My husband and son are restoring a vintage car. I'm glad you decided to keep his car as a remembrance. Please know that your circle of friends include the Laufman's in San Antonio. May God's love continue to surround you. Sincerely, Joan Laufman

I bought a memorial bracelet with Mr. Puglies' name on it. I searched his name on the internet and found this picture and tribute. It is amazing how putting a face to a name brings things in to perspective. May God comfort his family and friends!

WE ALL SEEK LONGEVITY, BUT IN SOME INEXPLICABLE WAY THE VERY BREVITY OF LIFE DEFINES WHY WE ARE HERE AND GIVES TEXTURE TO OUR EXISTENCE. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ OF ROBERT, HIS LIFE, THOUGH SHORT, WAS FULL. I KNOW ROBERT'S FAMILY, LIKE SO MANY OTHERS, CAN NEVER SET ASIDE WHAT OCCURRED THAT DAY, BUT I HOPE THEIR SADNESS WILL ONE DAY RECEDE AND ALLOW THEM TO FEEL THE JOY OF LIFE AGAIN.

I sent for a "mercyband" about a month ago and recieved one with the name Robert D. Pugliese enscribed on it. I wear it everyday in memory of a man I never had the honor of meeting, but I feel like I knew him after reading all about him. It is an honor to wear the name of a man people thought so highly of and may God bless and keep the Pugliese family safe. I am looking forward to learning all I can about this man and his family. Thank you.

What can I say about my best friend, my brother. We grew up together in the Bronx and remained friends for 30 years. There are too many memories to list but he was a special person who always made a difference. To his lovely wife Maureen who I grew to know and love and to Michael, Dennis and Lisa I wish nothing but strength to get you through. That is what he would want for you. And always remember I will always be a phone call away if you need anything. May he be proud of all of you and may we honor his memory by remembering the good times we had. I will always miss him.

I worked with Robert at American Life. He had a really big smile and I remember his sense of humor. Robert had a personality like my brother, Ruben, who's also missing at WTC, tower 2. I would never see him made, but I do remember his smile.
God Bless You Robert and your family.
Robert's Family, remember that the Lord needed Robert in Heaven and by faith and hope one day you will see him again.
God Bless

I worked with Bob for a year & a half @ Sedgwick. I transfered from the accounting dept into the corporate security dept. While I knew him before we worked together, we became much closer friends in that short period of time. We both enjoyed sports, and I was in quite a few fantasy baseball, basketball, hockey & football leagues together. We talked & laughed each & every day. I miss him & I will never forget him.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

I knew Bob from his passion away from family, that of sports. I was in one of his hockey leagues and will remember his honesty. He would never do anything he did not believe in himself. He always talked about his kids and that is honorable.
If more people were like Bob, this would be a better world. I and everyone in his leagues will miss him.
