Ben always called me his unofficial cousin, not that we were related but we saw each other at home and at school (St Edwards).
Very sadly missed by family and friends.

I linked to this page through a Proverbs 31 Woman Blog. The readers of the blog were asked to choose someone to pray for on this the 7th anniversary of 9-11. I chose your husband because he shares the same name as my brother, who also makes pancakes for his family every Saturday morning. May God continue to bless and heal your family. I will pray for you all.

To the Walkers:
I am a high school student from Connecticut. My journalism teacher lost his father in the September 11th attacks. He gave us this website, telling us that he frequently checks it and finds it reassuring. Everyone in my class was given the name of a victim and their memoir published with the Rockland County September 11th Memorial. Benjamin seems like he was a wonderful dad. I always tell my parents that I wish that they had encouraged me to do a sport at a young age. It seems like Benjamin will live on through the memories your children will have of him. Knowing how to play a sport can be so important especially in high school, even just to assist the huge adjustment from middle school to high school. Benjamin, as a soccer coach, touched the lives of many children who will remember him and thank him as they get older. I would like to send my condolences especially for what may be a difficult time for you and your family, in the coming days. Best wishes to your family, I'm sure Benjamin was a wonderful person.

Dear Laura,
Words do not come easy at times like this. Loosing someone you love is never easy. I can only hope that with each new sunrise, you find new strength to carry on. You are a pillar of strength for your children and I know that is something they will always remember. Please know that I think of you often and that we are here anytime you need anything. Ben is at peace now and he is watching from above. Watch his love for you and the children shine down on even your darkest days. Ben's spirit continues to live on in Henry, Christopher and Samantha.
Much love and peace to you.
Joan and Dan Tenzer and boys.

Dear Laura,
As your neighbor & fellow "Cherry Laner" I want to express my deepest sympathy. Ben was great guy. I always enjoyed our chats during the field trips. He always brightened things up & the kids loved him!
Henry, Christopher & Samantha,
Daddy would be SO proud of how strong you are, for yourselves & for mommy! I'm sure it's hard to understand sometimes, but you have to know that Daddy will ALWAYS be with you. He's in your hearts and he's that "angel" who helps you and mommy when you need a little support.
May God Bless You and Always look upon you.

Dear Laura:
Every day that goes buy, one, if not all, finds out that someone they know or have known name is added to the 9/11 disaster. I've known you and Ben while working at GC many years ago, long before the two of you started courting, (very nice memories). I remember his laugh, and your wink of the eye. May God, the love of family and friends continue to keep you strong. Spread your love and remember his laugher will help and guide you to through.
God Bless! Prayers and Love!

I only worked with Ben for a few months in the summer of 2001 whilst I was briefly attached to the same team, but what really stood out during the short time I knew him was his willingness to always try and pitch in with a helpful comment on any topic, and his devotion to his family. My deepest sympathies.

Such a tradegy. We are so sorry for your loss.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

Laura :
I can't tell you how long I knew "Benny" (as we affectionately called him in the midwest).
I started @ Marsh in NY in 1984 & moved to Detroit in '88. Sometime after that, Ben & I began working closely on "FORD".
Through tough business periods, Ben was always a bright ray of sunshine ! Always optimistic & always talkative ! We always teased him about that.
He spoke about you & the kids & your mom's NY (Brooklyn I think) accent.
Our thoughts & prayers to you & all your family.
