Dear Family & Friends of Joseph Hasson III,
My heart is deeply touch by the loss of such a special person in your life!
As we reflect on our own lives; We often ask ourselves; Why these tragedies happen to good people?! We can find comfort in knowing that pain & sorrow were never Gods original purpose for families! He will Remember Our Dear Loved Ones and restore the Peace and Security He intended for all mankind. Psalms 37:10 & 11. Your Loved One will not be forgotten!
Sending Warm Greetings,

Giuseppe, Happy 40th Bday a month late. But no one forgot. We all got together and partied till 4am, Crazy Joe style. Miss you all the time Bro. Got your bracelet on my wrist. Doin my best to take care of your family. All seems good there. I've got more work for you. In addition to taking care of all of us, you have to keep an extra special eye on my son LUCA JOSEPH! He's your namesake so I expect you to make sure he has at least half as much of a great time growing up as we did. We're naming your street after you next month. Should be fun. So much love, Aidala

As you journey through life meeting thousands of people, most fade away. Very few stay with you forever. I knew Joe but briefly, but he was instantly one of those people.

I knew Joseph when we were much younger, but he was a great guy to be around. In a strange coincidence, this week we discovered that we purchased our new home in Middletown from a friend of his and Mary's. Tiny world...

Although we hadn't seen eachother for many years, the thought of Joe always brings a smile to my face. We had great times together at Poly and as this anniversary comes near, I just wanted his family and friends to know that all of you and Joe are all in my thoughts and prayers. The world is a sadder place without that smile, but I'm sure that heaven is rockin with fun!

Joe:
I may not get to write any time soon to you, but want you to know how much I miss and love you. Little Joey gives me such love that there are times when I feel you inside of him. He is a wonderful boy and I know that God knows that he is a special child. He loves his Mother so much that it takes my breath away sometimes to see them together. The three of you would have been some team. Please continue to watch over us and guide us, but most of all continue to give us the strength to deal with our everyday life here on this earth. One day we will all be together, but until then I will still do my utmost to protect and love your Son as if he were mine. I love and miss you very much Joey.

Dear Joe:
The holidays are here and how I wish you were also. Your Son is growing up so fast that it is scary. I want him to stay small. He can turn a bad day into a good one. He is so smart Joe. He doesn't forget a thing. If I need to remember something I just tell him and he reminds me. I love the time that I spend with him. He makes my coffee, he makes my breakfast. Hey at my age this is good. I love him as if he were my own. Please continue give me strength and guidance with your Son as he is a handful and I want to do the right thing.
Love & Miss You,
Teenie

Dearest Joe:
It is bad enough we don't have you with us anymore and I wrote saying that it has been 4-1/2 yrs. yet I apologize it's been 3-1/2 yrs. (but no matter what is seems a lifetime that you are not with us) Another spring and summer is approaching and I know this year Joseph IV is going to be a pistol as he is going to camp to learn tennis and swimming (even though your son swims now, but he'll be even better) I miss you Joey very much.
Love,
Tina

Dear Joe:
Four and a half years have gone by without you and it stinks. Your smile, your laughter, your sense of humor is missed by so many of us.
Your beautiful son Joseph John Hasson IV is such a joy to be around. I know I spoil him, but I don't care. He goes to bed happy and he wakes up happy (Just like his
Dad) I think he may become a chef because he just loves to cook. He tells me get out of the kitchen I know what I am doing you don't have to help me. He is a very independent
boy. He always tells his Mother and me not to worry that he will protect us. I love him so very much.
He and his Mother are the best of friends. He is a wonderful child. I am so sorry that my phone call to you couldn't get you home safely to them. I Love and Miss you very much. Remember, your guidance will always be needed by me and I will always be there for Mary and your Son.
Love & Miss you,
Tina

There are two kinds of brothers in this world. One happens by chance and the other you choose. Joe and I chose to be brothers about twenty years ago, and how fortunate I was when that happened. Crazy Joe taught me so much about everything. From driving a stick shift to history to music, Joe was a great teacher. However the thing that Joe was best at was having FUN. Me, Joe, Glynn , Carmody and Mannarino had more fun in our high school and college years than most people have in a lifetime. It can truly be said that in Joseph's 34 years on this earth, he lived more than most people do in 100 years! Joe, you've been gone for three years, but thanks to the strength you instilled in all of us everyone is doing quite well - especially your son! It is three years ago today that I kissed Danielle for the first time. Today, she is my wife. I make no secret of the fact that I believe you sent her to me. THANK YOU! (Soon I'll be asking you to send me a kid) I love you and miss you so much, but I'm one of many who share those feelings. Just keep sending your positive energy to us and I promise to keep that powerful "Crazy Joe" spirit alive and well here in the Ridge! Talk to you later Champ. See ya Sport, Love, Aidala

I am a 37 year old woman from Sacramento, CA. On Sept. 11, 2004, I competed in my first Olympic distance triathlon in Pacific Grove, Ca. Because the race was held on Sept. 11 this year, each of us who participated was given the name of a person who died 3 years ago to wear above our race number. I was given Joseph's name, and although I didn't know him or his family or friends, it was an honor to keep him in my thoughts as I swam in the ocean, and as I cycled and ran along the beautiful Pacific Coast. My prayers for peace go out to his family and friends.

I gave blood in honor of a victim of Sept.11 and picked Joseph's name at random and received a certificate. I wanted to put a face with the name so there would be a connection. Joseph will always
be remember as I have the certificate hanging on my office wall--to never forget those who died. God Bless you and your son.

I didn't know Joe. I saw the PBS special last night and was touched. I figured I would share a poem that was special to someone that I love very much that I lost (not on 9/11). I hope it brings Joe's family as much comfort as it brings me.
"Doubt sees the obstacles,
Faith sees the way.
Doubt fears the blackest night,
Faith sees the day.
Doubt dreads to take a step,
Faith soars on high;
Doubt questions, 'Who believes?'
Faith answers, 'I.'"

May fond memories bring you comfort during this difficult time. You have the strength of all Americans who grieve with you - I hope knowing that empowers you.
Sincerely,
Jim

Father we entrust our brother Joseph to your mercy. You loved him greatly in this life: now that he is freed from all its cares, give him happiness and peace forever. Welcome him now into paradise where there will be no more sorrow, no more weeping or pain, but only peace and joy with Jesus your Son, and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.

Joe Hasson was the guy that every guy wanted to be just like - a seriously tough bastard with a true heart of gold. He literally had two fingers ripped off his hand, but his three-fingered grip was without question stronger than any I have ever felt. I saw him on the bus going into work a few days before September 11th, and I remember thinking then that this was one of the coolest guys I have ever known. He asked me how my artwork was going and he knew so much about me, it made me feel like he really cared about me. And he made everyone feel that way, because he really did care. If I can even be one quarter of the man he was, I will be very happy. One day I will tell my sons about Chris's brother Joe Hasson.

My brother and I grew up with the Hassons, and although life and circumstance take you in different directions physically, nothing in this world, or another, could destroy the memories of a childhood made brighter because of who we shared it with. As for the Hassons, you couldn't be any closer to our hearts, especially now.

Joe is my brother.Nothing can ever change that.Nor can anything ever take away his memory form the hearts and minds of all those that he touched in this world, and there are so many of us.My brother is a true hero in every way.I remember when he told me about the first incident in 1996.I had asked him how it was going down 105 flights, and he told me that he had helped an older woman walk down to the lobby.Thats how I know that he left this world with honor and dignity.Just as he lived his life.
I promise you Joe that your son will know you.Your hear and soul, your spirit and your dreams. The love that you have for your family and Mary your wife.I feel your strength in me Joseph.Thank you for that.I know I never got to say it to you but I'm very proud of you.Till we meet again.I love you.
Your little brother Chris

He brought joy and laughter into every day of his life.He was selfless and caring in a fashion unique in my experiences with people. His memory will forever live on and always bring me joy in the knowledge of my time spent with him. Rest in peace my son....Dad

My family and I did not know anyone that lost their life on Sept. 11 but, feel the pain and sadness for these family's that have to go through this. It's so hard to look through all the pictures of people who lost their lives that day. We can only imagine what their familys are going through. Keep your faith for the LORD will guide you the rest of te way. May God Bless

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
