When I went on a trip to NYC me and my family went to the 9/11 Memorial and museum. I took a picture of the memorial and saw a white rose on a name. Later I looked up the meaning and realized that white roses were placed on the person´s birthday. This trip was October 14, 2021, Shekhar´s 50th birthday.

Hello Shekhar, it was really hard to imagine what happened to my dear classmate for 5 years (in Mount Assisi School, Bhagalpur, Bihar, India) and batchmate for another 2 in Delhi Public School. Two of the best gentlemen from our class (First Sidhanshu left us due to blood cancer and then you) are no more with us. It really tore my heart to learn about the tragedy one year after it happened from Narayan Khetan's father. The last we spoke was on phone right before you were going to get married. I cannot even imagine what a huge loss it is for your wife and what she must have gone through.
It is a tremendous loss to us. You were one of the most energetic, enthusiastic and optimistic student in our batch.
Maybe God needed you more than us, and I am sure with the kid of spirit you had, you must be lobbying with God for peace on earth.
May your soul rest in eternal happiness and peace in the loving arms of God, and all your wishes for your loved ones come true.

Shekhar, How can I forget the time I spent with you in Virginia. On September 11th after seeing the attack on WTC I tried to call you, to check if everything is fine with you, but I was unable to reach you. Even then I kept telling myself no he cannot leave like this. He was really a great friend. And my heart really fills with pain when I think about his wife, they just got married in November 2000.
Shekhar you are always in my thoughts and prayers. Its really difficult for me to believe that you are no more. Will always remember you.

My wife and I received a Blue Spruce seedling that was given to us in the memory of Shekhar. We will be planting it this afternoon on the one year anniversary in our backyard in Maine. It is a peaceful spot, frequented by wildlife with a view of the sea.
We are honored to take part in this tribute and hope that in some way our contribution will heal some of the loss we all share.

This tragedy becomes so much real and horrific, when U see a face that U recognize. You were one amongst us and now you are gone. May God bless your soul and give courage to your family. They are not alone....

Shekhar, I remembered you this 11th and all other days. You very well knew that you were one person whom really called a friend. It was difficult to develop a liking for you in the first instant but then someone who knew you would have done anything under his control for YOU. I was one of them. I still am. Just by a miracle if we meet in this life then we will go together to Mata Vaishno Devi's Shrine in INDIA.
Please Shekhar, can you come back, this life. If God is not wlling for the same, then please be a friend to my son now (your rebirth).
Shekhar, I miss you.

My sincere sympathies on the loss of Shekhar. You are not alone; I lost my brother-in-law, Jayesh Shah, also from 103rd floor of tower 1 at eSpeed. Perhaps they were together at the end.

I am writing to express my condolences to the family and friends of Shekhar Kumar. Just before Christmas, the catholic churches in Springfield, Ill. distributed four names from the list of victims of 11 Sept. in the Sunday bulletin, asking each parishoner to lend some support to their family and friends through our thoughts and prayers.
So I took my list of four names and lit a candle and said a prayer for them. Mr. Kumar is one of the victims whose name I was privileged to receive.
I want his family and friends to know that I am very sorry for their loss, and that you and Shekhar are in my prayers.
May God keep and bless you and Shekhar, and give you strength and comfort.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
