Thomas I never knew you, but a family member married into our family (Suzanne Howlett) 30+ years ago and when ever I visit the 9/11 Healing Fields here in Tempe, AZ I always look you up so someone here in AZ is thinking of you and your heroism back on 9/11. Prayers out to your family and friends.

Tommy,
We never got to meet, but we are second cousins. Your bravery and selflessness have always been an inspiration to me, and it was because of you that I became a medic in the Army. Here we are, more than a decade and a half after that infamous day, and we still remember your sacrifice. The world would be a brighter place if only we could all be as couragous as you.
Thank you for your inspiration,
-SGT Lendl

Tommy. Its been 15 years. My life has gone on and I see your picture as that 26 year old hero who never had his chance to live his life. Only the people who chose our career understand why you had to do what you did on that day. I always carry your picture in my hat and I always feel like I have a partner and friend on every call. Always in my heart little buddy. Your never forgotten. Your friend Tim

As I cross-stitched your name on the memorial that I am doing for all of the victims, I prayed for you and your family. Please know that your death was not in vain. We will always remember. God Bless.

I was watching the memorial today on T.V. and I came across Tommy's name, we met after high school and he always held a special place in my heart. I never knew he perished in 9/11 until today. My heart goes out to his wife and family, he was the kindest soul and I am sure he is in god's loving arms.

Tommy, it's been a long time. I remember meeting you back in high school. I wish we could go back to those simpler days, back to when the world was safe for us. To Tommy's wife- you have a great Angel watching over you. Don't overlook the little things he leaves for you. May God bless you and your family. We will never forget you Tommy.

What a special soul...never knew him but his story touched my heart. If he had kept those movie tickets and the piece of paper with her phone number until the last day, he must have a very special heart...what a tragic ending?
Rest in Heavenly peace Tom...

Afew months ago my girlfriend gave me a memory bracelet with Thomas Jurgens name on it, I wear it all the time but just found out that I could go on line to find out about him and his life. I am so glad I did this, I feel a bond with him and now you, you are in my prayers, he was a brave man, we should all be proud! God has his loving arms around him now, I pray that you feel that warmth and love also. God Bless Thomas and God Bless America!

Joan-I've never actually met you or Thomas, but today I was blessed to draw his name at church to pray for. I've read tributes about him, and he seems to have been the most amazing man. I will pray for you and your family. Please know that God is with you, and you are loved.

Personally, I did not know Mr. Jurgens, but as the wife of a Sr. Court officer, I feel that he is part of a bigger family. Our family grieves with yours during this time and we know Thomas is in a better place. Please accept our condolences and the Jurgens family continues to be in my prayers. God Bless.

Tommy everyday at work if you saw me without Tara you would ask where's my shadow. I'll never hear you ask that question again. It's been almost one year since you left us. I never got to say goodbye. Goodbye Tommy, you are missed everyday.

Father we entrust our brother Thomas to your mercy. You loved him greatly in this life: now that he is freed from all its cares, give him happiness and peace forever. Welcome him now into paradise where there will be no more sorrow, no more weeping or pain, but only peace and joy with Jesus your Son, and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.

Tom was in my National Guard Company, CoB 1/69 Infantry. He was a good and caring soldier as every good Medic should be. I don't think I ever saw Tom without a smile or a good thing to say to everyone he met. He is the kind of person that will be missed.

I hope you don't mind me writing but I make it a point to read each of these tributes and this is the first time that I have written in a guest book. But they make me cry and laugh, often at the same time. I am sorry I didn't know your Thomas, he sounded like a wonderful man. You were very lucky and I admire you for the love I know he still guides you by.

I'm so grieved and sad, so deeply hurt, that you have lost a son and know Linda, that I will carry Tommy's memory in my heart and in my prayers. Even these tears of sadness for your family are not enough, please, please understand that God is taking care of all of you today and tomorrow. So Tommy is my hero. I will never forget him, never forget you all, and ask why a nation that gives so much to all of mankind must be a target of hatred.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

I got my MercyBand today on Thomas E. Jurgens. I found out just now he is the same age as my youngest child. I cannot imagine enduring this loss. My heart is with his family, and especially his mother. My prayers will be for comfort and healing.
