Rest in peace Rich. Your daughters are growing up to be beautiful, intelligent, wonderful young women - you would be proud! WE are very proud of them! Eternal rest grant to Rich O Lord and let Perpetual Light shine upon him, may the Divine Assistance be always with him and may Rich and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. I remember Richard from working at the Baldwin McDonalds as teens. He was very popular and well-liked. His friends called him "boo" as a nickname.
I just saw the 9/11 tribute in Newsday and wanted to pass along my sincere condolences to the family of Richard Bruehert.

I worked with Richard at Baldwin McDonald's from February 1982 until 1986. He taught me so much at such a young and impressionable age. He had a profound affect on my work ethic and I always gave thanks for that. May he rest in peace.

It has been almost 15 years since I last saw Richard Bruehert when we were classmates at Adelphi University (we had the same major - Computer Science). But even though we were more acquaintances than out and out friends, I was most sorry to hear that he was one of the people who perished on 9/11/01 as a result of the attacks on the World Trade Center. I hope that God is giving comfort to his family and that God is giving his soul rest. Farewell, Richard - it was good having you as a classmate and to have worked with you as well.

To commemorate 9/11 at the Kelley School of Business, we were given pieces of paper with 15 names each and asked to write them in colored chalk on the sidewalk outside our new building. Richard Bruehert was one of the people on my list.
Today is Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement. To fulfill the requirement of spiritual reflection that is required of us on this day, I am trying to learn as much as I can about Richard and the others on my list. That way, they are more than just names on a piece of paper. I am very happy to be able to put a face and a life story to Richard's name.
May God protect his soul.

Rich, I only met you once. It was at the wedding of your brother Ed and sister-in-law Brenda. I didn't really know you, but I think of you often, especially your wife, daughters and your mother. I pray for them as they walk through life with you in their hearts, but not there physically.
God bless you all. Written on September 11, 2002.

Father we entrust our brother Richard to your mercy. You loved him greatly in this life: now that he is freed from all its cares, give him happiness and peace forever. Welcome him now into paradise where there will be no more sorrow, no more weeping or pain, but only peace and joy with Jesus your Son, and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.

I was so saddened to read that Rich was one of the ones taken on 9/11.
He was a valued member of Technology Managers Forum and I got to appreciate his intelligence and good natured sense of humor during the years he gave service as a Judge for our Best Practice Awards Program.
He was a consumate professional and a giver. It was a pleasure to have known him. My heart goes out to you in your loss.
Sincerely,
Priscilla Tate

May God Bless you and the ones that you left behind. I did not know anyone who passed away on 9/11/01, but it still hurts just the same. I have cried for all of the pain that I know that others are feeling. Rest in Peace.......

I only knew you for a few days as we sailed together on the Chesapeake Bay. We talked of our families, our jobs, and our love of sailing. We were much alike, we would have become friends. I think of you and your family often. Such a tragic loss. God bless you!

"Hope" is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.
I've heard it in the chillest land
And on the strangest sea,
Yet never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.
- Emily Dickinson
It is my hope that something good will come from losing someone so dear. God Bless you Richard

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

You were a wonderful person with a beautiful family. An everyday man doing the right thing for his family. A righteous person with God-loving ways has been taken away from those who love him most. Your wife, children and family. May you rest with the Lord and be the Angel that watches over those you cherish so much. Always in our hearts and prayers.
