Remembering Clement on the 20th anniversary of 9/11...
Ted Leban
September 9, 2021
To the family of Clement Fumando,
Today September 9th 2021 I just returned from a memorial for 9/11 in Oak Brook, Illinois which displayed 2,976 American Flags standing on 8 foot poles in perfect rows and columns. I located Mr. Clement Fumando's flag and said a number of prayers for him and his family. Story: I would call him from my desk at Continental Bank in Chicago and ask him for his thoughts on Pound Sterling and he would quote me prices. He was always so easy going and I can not believe how quickly all the years have passed. But I wanted to put in writing that God sent him to interact with all of us for a reason, "Clem had loved us all and God wanted to share him with each of us." God Bless you all !! Regards, Ted Leban

When I was at the 9-11 memorial, it silenced me. Had a huge wave of grief and mourn even though I was not even alive to witness it in any way. Although, television and books have provided me with the ability to learn stories of the passed and the story in general. I was walking by looking at all of the names, and I saw Clement A. Fumando. It stood out against the other names for some reason and I've never been able to forget that name, even though I forget lots of things on a daily basis. But, my -very late- condolences to the family.

To the family of Clement Fumando,
St. Louis held a memorial in honor of the 10th anniversary of 9/11. They placed American flags on the lawn of art hill in front of the St. Louis Art Museum. One to represent each life lost that day. After they were on display for a week they sold them off. My husband was lucky enough to be able to purchase one and it was the flag with Clement Fumando's name on it. We would just like to take a moment to let you know that we are flying the flag of your husband, father and grandfather in our yard with honor and pride and have told all of our friends and family about him. He will always be a hero to us. God Bless ~ The Stefanski Family St. Louis, MO

I spoke to Clem everyday when I worked at Citibank. I remember speaking to him on the day before the attacks and he said he had just gotten back from vacation and enjoyed spending that time with his grandchildren. He wished he hadn't came back. I remember those words he spoke to me till today.

I have not written here bofore, however thought I would add the note today to say even though the years have passed; when I hear about Sept 11 or the date approaches I always think of Clem. I live in Ireland but work for a large American Bank here. I used to speak with Clem almost daily for work related issues obviously, we had a little chats about this and that too. A lovely man. Just wanted to say that I have not forgetten him and probably never will...

It was a beautiful article on Cousin Butchie. He will be truly missed by all of us in the family. His memorial service truly expressed Butchie's life. God be with you, Gregory, Stephen and everyone else in the immediate family.

My heart sank and was very saddened when my friend told me that Clem was working at Cantor Fitzgerald at the WTC.
I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Clem when I started working at Allied Bank International, at 63 Wall Street, back in September 1970, where Clem was working as an FX Trader.
I can still hear Clem's loud and cheerful laughter - that's all we heard from him all day long.
I was only 19 and a newlywed back then, and he was one of very few people that I still remembered, and whenever I spoke with my friend I would ask him about Clem.
My prayers are with Mrs. Fumando and your loved ones. May the Lord comfort and keep you always.

When I heard that Clem was in the building my heart sank. I have known Clem since I started at Noonan Astley And Pearce since 1980. I just started as a broker and he was at Continental and he always gave me a shot in the buisness. He was a funny guy and loved by alot of people. May God comfort your family and find peace knowing he was loved by many. Caroline

We are very sorry for your loss of Clement. What a great love story you have shared with us. May Clement's life and love live on in those who love him. May the sorrow in your hearts be lightened by precious memories. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
