I was fortunate enough to meet Del-Rose when I was a teenager. She worked with my mother at Proctor and Gamble in Brooklyn and I often would go out there. I made her office sign when she graduated college! She was Always so nice to me, encouraging me to stay in school. She was a bright light in this dim world and I am grateful to have known her. She’d be happy to know I have 3 classes left until I complete my Masters! Thank you for always encouraging me!

Such a sad day when so many innocent people lost their lives, and right before Del_Rose's birthday bash. How very sad. We pause today in remembrance of her and pray for peace for her family. Much love from Texas.

I saw your name on the memorial when I visited and wanted to know who the person was behind the name, I am glad I got a glimpse into who you were- not just another name. Rest in Peace and may God comfort your family until you are with them again.

Dear Delrose,
I only met you a few times but you were a great friend to my mother. The few times we did meet you were extremely encouraging with your words and wisdom for my lifes path and I appreciate that more than you know. I think of you often and only can wonder what important part you played in my future. Something about the proud ness of finishing college and creating that banner for you was inspirational and you will always be in my heart. Rest in memory.

You called me your sister, and I will always cherrish that you felt that way about me. We got along so well and became close during the time that we worked together at Propper. I was so happy for you when you finally finished college and after I moved to Maryland found the job of your dreams. I think of you often and always on that tragic date. I still see your smiling face and remember how devoted you were to your family. Even though I left and moved out of state, we talked every now and then. My daughters and I hear your name read and cry every year. I tell anyone who cares to listen how wonderful you were. I know Bob misses you terribly. You both were so close. I will never forget you. Rest in Piece. Love You Always.

To the Family of Del-Rose(forbes)Cheatham
You do not know me, nor did I ever have the pleasure of meeting Del-Rose on this earth. But, from what I have been reading about her I would have loved to have met her. I'm sure we could have learned alot from each other. I work for the phone company here in Phoenix Arizona and was introduced to Del-Rose by virtue of a motorcycle parade honoring all the heroes of 9-11-01 on the one year aniversary, here in AZ. The thought was to have one motorcycle representing each person that gave thier life on
9-11-01, over 3000 motorcycles parading through Phoenix, AZ. Well the event drew over 7270 motorcycles with 343 fellow Fire Fighter brothers and sisters honoring our fallen plus alot of us that just wanted to show our support. The event was so big it closed down 20 miles of Interstate 10 and alot of streets... We were each handed a white braclet with the name of a person that was lost printed on it. I had the distinct honor of drawing Del-Rose (forbes) Cheatham braclet and wearing it throughout the day. I can not begin to tell you the thoughts and emotions that went through my mind that day. Everybody was so touched and just showing each other who we were riding for as if someone handed them gold rolex watch's... I know we are 2000 miles away but we are all brothers and sisters who have pride in what we do and who we are associated with... And, as far as I am concearned the Everyone that gave their lives that day are HEROS!
Del-Rose I am proud of you, You had no idea what the Lord had in store for you that day but you went to work to give your all. That's why it was an honor wearing your braclet as we paraded through the people lined streets of Phoenix. When we rode by people they all screamed and cheered for our group, it was such an honor knowing that they were not cheering for us but for who we represented...
I would like to give the braclet that i recieved to Del-Rose's family so they know that she has a brother in AZ that will remember her and the day that she was introduced to me forever...
May God look over all of Del-Rose's family and friends as it sounds like God now has one outstanding ANGEL up there...
If anyone knows how I may get this braclet to her family please e-mail me...
Sincerly,
Anthony Anderson, Phoenix, AZ.

I too have known Delrose almost all my life. In Jamaica as a little girl remembering my mother's friend calling for Minnie. Her voice was so sweet and gentle as if she was still just a little girl herself. Oh Delrose, you are and will always be loved and missed. My children ages 14, 11 and 7 have never met Delrose, but they know her. They know her because she calls often and ask for Minnie. She speaks to them so they actually know her just not in person.
Delrose I know you are in a better place and I know we'll all meet again.
My condolences to Delrose's family.

I can't remember a time in my life when I did not know Del-Rose. Some of my earliest memories (I was two or three years old) include her visits to my home in Duhaney Park, Kingston and then to our home in Kingston 10 (that's how I remember it now, can't remember if there's another name for the area at the moment).
Del-Rose was one of my mother's best friends and she was like an aunty to me. One of the things I'll always remember fondly about her is that she was the first (and maybe the only) person who called my mother by the name of "Minnie".
I loved her visits and I love her. Although I'm thirty-three years old now and I had not seen her in many years, my mom would pass along news of her every now and then and she was still part of my life, living on from those earliest memories. And she always will be.
We love you, Del-Rose. My family misses you and you will live on in our hearts. Our hearts are with your family!

My sincere sympathies to the immediate family & friends of Del-Rose Forbes. Shortly after the tragedy I heard from relatives (or someone in Flankers) that my husband's uncle lost a niece at the WYC, but only recently was able to find her on a web - search and read the wonderful things about her, her achievements and her love. She was the niece of my husband's uncle by marriage -- we called him "Grudgeful" and "the Mayor of Flankers". May peace. love and memory be with you always. In sorrow & remembrance.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

Those that knew her loved her. Those that loved her knew the basis of her faith. Hopefully we will all come to see her again if we make it the teh earthy paradise, because I'm sure she will be there waiting to greet us.
