Happy heavenly birthday, Marina. You were very beautiful and sound like a very loving, ambitious, and hardworking young woman with a lot going for you, much ahead to look forward to and be hopeful about. I am so sorry for what happened to you and to your parents who lost their only child in this way. Marina, you are never forgotten and I hope you are enjoying your special day where you are. <3

I am an only child myself, as is my Mother and as is my daughter...and her Father. Even now 10 years later I cannot begin to imagine how her parents have coped with such a heartbreaking loss. So sad... XXX

To my soul friend,
you are lucky to meet one person in your life that optimomlly effects your world. For me that person was Marina. She lives on im my heart with our memories and through my children. I often think about, well what would have Marina said to this situation or that. I have been blessed to have known Marina even for our 13 short years of friendship. I am lucky to have been loved by her and to have loved her. I will carry her in my heart as long as I live. Your best friend forever...BFF
Clara.

I was a friend of Marina's at Stuyvesant High School and will always remember her as a beautiful and smart young woman who deeply cared about those around her.
I live and work in downtown Manhattan. I think about Marina often when I pass by the ground zero site.
My heart goes out to her family.

I knew Marina form her time at Morgan Stanley. I worked in the London office and would call Marina and her colleagues in the course of our duties.
A delightful lady to speak to and work with.
Marina,
You'll never be forgotten by the people sent to love you.
Rest in peace.
Sharon.

To Marina's Family:
I was a member of Marina's Pledge class at Binghamton. I considered Marina one of my closest friends. She always made me laugh - and was there for me at all times. I still to this day can not imagine the hole that is left in your hearts as the short amount of time I knew this beautiful person left a major one in mine. I think of her often and have her family and friends in my prayers.

To Marina's friends and family: I want to tell you how sorry I am for the loss of a beautiful daughter and friend to many...I knew Marina from college, we were in Phi Sigma Sigma sorority. I always remember Marina smiling, happy and a beautiful kind young woman. My heart was broken when I saw her picture on the TV during those horrible days following. Please know how much she was loved not only by you her family, but loved by those like us in college as well who shared a few years with her.
Sincerely Diane Spaccarelli-Pulos

I'm a friend from way back in the Broad Channel Day Camp days, where I had the good fortune of meeting Marina. We remained friends and kept in touch, though sometimes on and off. My aunt was in the World Trade Center that day and though injured, made it out. I believed and hoped that the tragedy had not reached any other friends or family, but then I later learned from Clara about Marina. Time continues to pass, and I still think of Marina and wish so much she were here with us.

I have two daughters who lived in Manhattan at the time of this tragedy and my youngest Melanie worked with your daughter at MS. She will never forget the incident and because of her, neither will I. I cannot imagine the loss of a daughter and, as a father I die a little each day because of it.

I was fortunate to have spent the Jewish holidays with Marina at Binghamton during our freshman and sophomore years. This unique experience allowed me to share with her a special time of the year together, and I feel lucky to have shared those times and memories with her. Marina was a truly lovely young lady who's zest for life and living I will always remember, along with her piercing, beautiful blue eyes. I still can't believe that someone so full of life was taken away so quickly from this earth. My heart goes out to Marina's family, friends and Henry.

I had the privilege of dating Marina for some time a number of years ago. Her warm smile and beautiful blue eyes will never be forgotten. I am a better person for having known her. Her parents were always so proud of her. I can't imagine their grief. My heart goes out to her family. I will never forget you Marina!

We Received the following E-Mail Message from our daughter Jeanie yesterday: "I went to a prayer service at St. David's Episcopal Church (Austin,Texas)at noon. The church was packed-it was really nice. At the front they had thousands of slips of paper to pick from. On each was the name of a 9-11 victim and you were supposed to pray for them and light a candle. I got tears in my eyes when I picked a girl who was 25- almost my age-Marina Gertsberg. Later that night I searched the internet and found she had worked at her job at the WTC for only a week. She was an only child and her parrents were immigrants. I felt terrible. She was really pretty and well educated."
We saw Marina's picture and tributes on the internet this morning.
Jeanie is 28, a reporter at a local TV station, and our only child.
Marina will remain the face of the WTC for our family forever.
Our prayers go with your family forever.
Marina's name will be read during the prayers for the dead at St. Peter's Anglican Church, San Miguel de Allende on 9-14-2002.
We have arranged for the altar flowers on 10-13-2002 to be given in thanks giving for Jeanie's birth. We will add "In graditude for Marina's life".

I represented Marina in a memorial motorcycle ride today (9/11) in Southern California to the Nixon Library. She sounds like a beautiful young lady. I am proud to have represented her. If you would like me to send you the armband I wore with her name on it, please let me know. I am so sorry for your loss.

May the Lord our God continue to give the Gertsberg family comfort, healing, and restoration during this time of loss. My sincere prayers are with you.
Marina, it pains to know that one of our fellow Junior High & High School classmates is now gone from this earth, but I speak for many in that your memory will live on & be treasured forever in our hearts.

Marina is one of eight Stuyvesant HS alumni/ae lost at WTC...and they were all wonderful, talented people, and so very much loved. Eugen Lazar, Dan Bergstein, Michael Warchola, Maurita Tam, David Lee, Gregory Richards, Aaron Horwitz...look them up and you will see what I see: beauty and loveliness; strength and compassion; of course brilliance and real intelligence...and more. I grieve for their families, and loved ones, such as Henry above...Their losses are too terrible for more words.
God Bless and be well.
We will go on, and never forget them!
Like Eugen, Marina was an only child---my heartfelt prayers and warmest wishes go to their parents.
She was such a beautiful person.

May the sorrow in your hearts be lightened by the precious memories of the beautiful moments of your lives. We are very sorry for your loss of Marina. May Marina's life and love live on in those who love her. Our hearts cry with you
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
