This week we thought of Allison and all who perished on 9/11, as well all those who have defended our freedom since. My Alison Jones (now 11) and I looked Allison up on the memorial website and plan to visit her there when we are in NYC next month.

Allison and I became friends in grammar school through girl scouts and went to high school together. I remember sleeping over her house and talking excitedly about The Outsiders movie that was about to come out. She had lent me the book and we had both read it so many times we could recite it word for word. She was smart, pretty and outgoing. I was awkward and shy, but she didnt seem to notice or care. Although we later drifted into different circles we always stayed friendy. I remember reading her marriage announcement in the Bernardsville News and being happy for her - I regretted not keeping in touch. I didn't find out she died in 9/11 until almost a week after. I was shocked and saddened by the news. Please know that even so many years later she is still thought of and remembered.
After losing my own husband suddenly I know how important that is. God bless!

We will NEVER FORGET Allison and all who perished on 9/11/01. I am a friend of Allison's Aunt Helen and never had the privilege to meet Allison. Her memory will forever remain with me and the prayer of my heart is for her entire family and many friends to be comforted each day in the remembrance of this very special All American woman. With deepest sympathy to all who remember your dear loved one today 9/11/11.

Allison - I first learned of you in watching coverage of the 9/11 attacks and the search for survivors. I felt compelled to read every name on the walls of flyers with photos and information on the missing. Your flyer jumped out at me on the screen, as I was in the process of adopting a baby from China, and her name was to be Alison Jones.I have thought of you often, and my daughter Alison, who I met in China 6 months to the day after 9/11, talk about you every year on this date. While we never met you, we will always remember you.

Allison is unforgettable. Strong, smart, hilarious, fearless. No matter how long it had been before we spoke, we always took up right where we left off. She was always true to herself and uncompromisingly honest. I remember the last time we met in Philadelphia...I will always see her that way.

Today a small measure of justice has been done. The man who caused your death has now met his fate. Though that cannot bring you back to this world, hopefully it will give you a measure of peace and knowledge that you were not forgotten. To the surviving members of your family: God Bless you and I add my condolences for your loss; and I hope this news brings you some feeling of justice.

Thinking of you today and remembering silly fun we had when we were younger. I regret never getting the chance to reconnect as "grownups" so much! God bless you and your family.

I met Allison at Albright College when she pledged the Phi Mu sorority that I was a member of. I liked Allison from the moment I met her....she was smart, funny, energetic, and always happy and smiling. She was my Phi Mu "little sister", which enabled us to spend more time together during pledging. Unfortunately, Allison transferred to another college, and we eventually lost touch. I was very saddened when I learned that she was one of the victims of 9/11. My thoughts and sympathies are with her family and friends.

I just recently learned Allison perished in 9/11/01 and am so shocked. As I prepare to go back to the 20th high school reunion, it's hard to fathom she wont be there. I have such fun memories of her and I'll continue to treasure them.

Thinking of you today. Remembering playing outside when we were little and being band geeks when we were older.

My name is Harvey Bennett and I live in Maplewood, NJ. On Thursday July 10 I had a photography assignment in Bernards, NJ, and to avoid traffic I got there early and visited the Bernards library. I saw the stone memorial for Allison outside the library. It is very important for us to never forget what this barbaric enemy did to us that day and to remember all of the future stars of our great counrty who we lost that day.

I have come back to this page five years later. I still think about her and all of the others who left us that day. The years since have been some of the most difficult I have known. I hope that her family is doing well and please know we are still here and doing what we can. I am still in the Navy and still feel in my gut the sadness that has been with us since that day. Rest well my friend.

Hi, I did not know Allison personally, but I know that she is greatly missed from the comments of her friends and families. I am a high school student at Lake Braddock High School in Burke, Virginia. Our class is putting together a play about September 11th and its victims. I hope that it is alright I looked up Allison to learn more about her. My deepest sympathy to all of her family and friends; I will never forget Allison or her many strengths. She was obviously an amazing person.

I met Allison through her sister Jennifer. Jen and I attended the same college and became fast friends. I was invited to her family's home and fell in love with all of them immediately. Allison was a beautiful and talented woman. Allison, Harry, the Jones', and the Horstmann's are in my thoughts and prayers. You are truly missed and remembered everyday.
Love Always,

I met Allison, Harry and her family my sophomore year at Lehigh University. She was my college roommate and a dear friend. I was privileged to have spent some of my most memorable times with Allison. Knowing Allison has helped me be who I am today. Her kindness, dedication, strength and relentless passion for everything she did have been an inspiration to me. I am always grateful for having met her. Two very difficult years have gone by and I miss you very much. I keep a picture of you with your wonderful smile on my desk. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Harry, your family, and friends. Love, Evelitsa

My first memory of Allison was on a snowy day back in first or second grade. My sister, Jessica, and I were playing outside when we noticed someone walking over to us. I always smile when I remember that I thought they were saying "Hello...it's elephant". We must have played together everyday until we moved in fourth grade. Always playing cops and robbers on our bikes, whiffle ball, swimming, playing in the tree house and picking on her sister Catherine! I even broke my tooth following Allison's lead throwing a marble in my mouth playing Old McDonald's Farm. What I remember most though was her smile. Seemingly always smiling in my mind. I have thought of her countless times along with Harry (with whom I also went to school), her mom, dad, Catherine, Jenny and Freddie. Allison, I will never forget our friendship.

I knew Allison in High School, and then again in College as she went to the same school (Albright College) as I did. She dated one of my bet friends in High School and I lost touch with her after College. I just found out about her being there. I am in the Navy and the events of Sept. 11th have affected me greatly. Now that I know that someone close to me was there it means all that much more. I read the tribute by her husband and I have to agree with all of it. Allison did nothing half way. She will be missed. She will be avenged.

Allison Horstmann and I were in the same MBA class (graduated 1997) at the University of Colorado in Boulder. The 9/11/2001 tragedies seemed so far away from Boulder, Colorado until I learned that Allison was one of those who was lost. She was such a friendly, active, and yet serene person during the time we knew each other at school. I looked up her photograph in our old MBA class directory, and I still can't quite believe that she's gone. I'm glad for the time that I knew you, Allison.

Allison was a smart and caring person. I knew her better when I was a child when we use to go visit here in New Jersey. We always had fun playing some type of sport. She was a very athletic, competitive person. Allison is one of my 1st cousins. She will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to her husband Harry and her whole family. May she rest in peace and always know she is in my prayers.

I am a senior at St. Pius X High School in Houston Texas. As part of a rememberance of Sept. 11, we were asked to pick a wrist band that had the name of a victim of 9/11, and wear it to honor them. I drew Allison's, and although I never had the priveledge to meet her, I am proud to honor her this week with my thoughts and prayers. Although this project is suppose to last a week, I will keep Allison and her family in my heart forever.

Ever since I met Allison's husband this past New Year's, I have not stopped thinking about Henry and Allison. They'd known each other since elementary school, and he told me that he will always love her. After visiting ground zero myself, I saw where she is now, and I know she is with the angels looking down on her beloved Henry and all of us, too. Love always and rest in peace Allison...you are gone but will never be forgotten. Love, Annie Kyger

I haven't been able to forget Allison since I saw her name---and mine, on a list of those who were lost. Later, I was able to find a picture of her which made it more painful. She was so beautiful and young. My condolences to Allison's husband and family.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
