On this 20th anniversary of that horrible day in 2001, I want to add my sincere condolences for the untimely passing of Larry Nedell. We actually went to the same high school— John Browne High School — in Flushing, NY. We were in the same class of 1967 and did have a casual relationship through those years. God bless Larry and his family.

Remembering you always....especially today!!

He & his wife (along with another victim: Susan Clyne & her husband) were customers where I worked back then. They were genuinely good people, always kind, polite, funny & generous. They took time to chat & actually take an interest in how I was. Their family forever remains in my thoughts & prayers.

Dear Larry,
It's been eight long years since that dreadful day. I think of you often and remember how wonderful it was to have you as my colleague while at AXA. The last time we saw each other Larry, we both went for the same position at AON, unknowningly of course. We met at the crossover on the South tower somwhere on the 80th floor from what I recall. Who could have known what fate lay ahead for us. Hopefully your up there with the Lord and sending us down your blessings. I miss you my friend and will see you in the afterlife.
God bless,
Bob Blackman

I didn't know Laurence but think of him often. On September 11, 2002 our local radio station here in Richmond Virginia was handing out American Flags to remember everyone that was killed in the attacks. I received a flag with Laurence's name. I've wondered over the years about him and today I thought I'd look for him and found this guest book. I'm glad I did. I was able to see a picture and read the postings and confirm my thoughts of what a great and special person he was. My thoughts are with you always.

I did not know Larry personally, but I did stop to talk to him when he would walk his dogs. One time I laughed and said "You have one in every size". I always think of him on this day. He will always be remembered on my block as the "Man with the Dogs". I wish peace to his family.

Larry and I worked together at Allianz. I got the chance to meet his wonderful wife and children at the company picnic. He was such a sweet family man and friend. I lost touch with Larry for a few years, then my husband Harry got a job at Aon and came home and told me that Larry worked there also. Unfortunately Harry's fate ended the same way Larry's did, but I will never forget him and what a wonderful man he was. I pray for his wife and children every day, and trust that God has helped them through this. He was a wonderful man and I will look forward to seeing him on the other side.
Larry, I hope you and Harry are having fun up there! Tell him I said to behave!!!

Arlene and I went to school with Larry and although it was many years since we had seen each other, the reality of his daughters and wife never seeing him again causes us both great dispair.
We wish all he left behind the strength to percevere and the good grace to remember Larry the way he was.
We all feel their pain and no words can make it better.
We will miss him.

Larry and I, had been counterparts at Colonia/AXA for some eight years. He was a great guy to have as a friend and one of the best underwriters I've ever come to know. He strived in later years to secure a CPCU designation which he accomplished. The last time I saw Larry we were both being interviewed at AON in May of 2001. We both vowed to meet for dinner once he settled into the new position. Unfortunately we never had the chance. My heart broke on that fateful day knowing Larry was lost to us forever. His wife Lorraine was the pillar of strength at his memorial service. God must bless her and his daughters. Larry, my friend I know your in a better place. You will always be in my thoughts and prayers.
God Bless,
Your friend Bob

Today is September 10, 2002. We at Aon Risk Services in Irvine, California, are remembering, sharing thoughts and tears. In rememberance of our co-workers, relatives, friends, fire fighters, police officers and volunteers who were involved in the devastating tragedy in New York City last year, are having a Memorial Service in front of our building in Irvine. We are located a block away from John Wayne Airport and to this day, I don't see a plane coming in for a landing that I don't think of that tragic day on September 11th. Our Activities Committee passed out flag pins along with labels, each with the name one of Aon's lost souls. I received Laurence Nedell and would like to add my heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. No one will forget what they were doing a year ago on September 11th and no one will ever forget those whose lost their lives. God Bless us all!

I will always remember Larry as the person who gave me a chance to work for such a wonderful company as AON. Larry, together with my Manager, John Rendina hired me on August 20th '01. Larry had a vision of life that was truly unique and geniune, I will always remember Larry as a person who gave up his life to save his co-workers on that dreadful day. My last vision of Larry was staring out the window, looking at the fireball on the 92nd floor. It was like watching a movie in slow motion. I wish I could have done something to save him. Larry is now a guardian angel where his family, friends, and co-workers are left with only memories and a spirt and will always live on. May God Bless his family! Susan S. Wylie

Larry,
We worked together at Colonia a few years back. I'll always remember you as the one person I could turn to if I had a question about what was going on in your department. I have this mental image of you standing outside of Tom G.'s office door, shaking your head, as he explained how some bad claim had come in and how it was going to impact your department's bottom line.
Rest in Peace and God Bless your family and friends.

I found out a couple of days after the attacks, that Larry was one of the victims.I did'nt know his name, i knew him as the man that walked his three dogs around the block.I know he came around between 5.15 and 5.45pm he would always stop to let my children pet his dogs.My 8 year old talks about him all the time he was really affected by Larrys passing he also worries about Max and Rufus ( his dogs).I live right in back of his house, so every time i look out my back window i think of him.I dont know his family but i pray for them.God bless you larry i miss you coming around the block even though we only said Hi How are you?.P.S. everytime my parents visited from ireland my dad would sit on my stoop and laugh when he saw Larry he used to say the dogs were bringing larry on a walk instead of the other way around.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
