I just visited the 9/11 memorial on Sat. 3/10/12. We are from Kansas City. First time in NYC. It was very crowded and my husband and I walked to the far side to look over the side into the pool. I had my hands on the side and when I looked down my hand was on Anne Marie Martino's name. This shook me up because my maiden name is Martino. Out of all the names on the memorial she is the one my hand rested on. Brought tears to my eyes and goosebumps. Don't know if we are related but very emotional day. Praying for you Anne Marie. I felt you were trying to connect with me---never felt this way before.

Annie,
God bless you and your family. I remember that days we worked together at Fiduciary in Central Accts my senior year in HS and the 2 years after. I cried when I heard the news about you. I know I havent seen you in many years, But I never forgot about our good times we had, working late or on Sat and riding the ferry together. May you bless heaven with your happiness and your smile like you blessed me thru the time that I knew you.
Life at times isn't fair and it takes away the best people in this world like you.

I first met Anne Martino ("little Annie") in 1974 when she was a "kid" delivering the mail at FTCo. She was so full of fun! It was such a long time ago and yet I can still see her smiling face. We extended greetings through mutual FTCo. friends over the years. I know she is at peace and that she is watching over her family. Keep smiling, Annie!

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

Annie, not a day goes by since 9/11 that I don't have thoughts of all the wonderful times we shared growing up together and in the old neighborhood. My heart goes out to your entire family as I know how much pain they're in. I'm so proud that you were once my best friend! I'll truly miss you forever my friend...

I wish there were something that could be said to take your pain away. Please know that you're not alone and find comfort in good memories and people who care.
