I saw your name on a picture of the memorial. I´m not sure why it stood out to me but I wanted to know the person behind this name. I can understand why your family must grieve so deeply. I am so sorry your life was brutally cut short. I know we likely would never have met. But if we had I think we would be friends. I hope, one day, I can meet you and hug your neck.

I will never forget the lovely smile and warmth of Laura. I was her local physician in Oceanside. Several months after that fateful day I was told of her passing. I broke down in tears from the loss. Laura was fun loving, kind and nurturing.
I hope that everyone will get to meet her someday in heaven because to experience her is a an event equal to meeting an angel. See you someday Kid.

So I am writing because I have the same name as Laura, and have 2 cousins with the name as well, and after 9/11 many people thought it was me.
I am so sorry that it was you, and that your family has had to go thru this loss. I watched the smoke rise that day and cried with our country.
You will never be forgotten and your name lives on.

I worked with Laura at FML, she always brightened everyone's day. I loved your sense of humour and talent with the kids in the children's area. You are still in my thoughts and prayers whenever that ugly day comes up.

I went to school with Laura and we shared many classes together throughout those years. She was a great friend, had a kind heart and a great sense of humor. We "double dated" at our senior prom in '83, and she & her boyfriend at the time also drove to Great Adventure in NJ for senior weekend together. I did the driving, and I have vivid memories of that whole experience. She wrote a full page entry in my senior yearbook which I will cherish forever. I read it recently and the memories were plentiful and it brought me right back to that time. We unfortunately lost touch in the years after high school. After hearing about Laura after the 9/11 attacks, I was simply stunned. Even not having contact for many years, I still felt like I lost a close friend. I think of her often and I my heart goes out to her family. Thank you for being the friend you were Laura. You had such a giving and unselfish personality, and your smile could light up a room. I will never forget you.......

There is not a day that doesn't go by that I don't think of you. I remember our good times, we had so much fun. The only thing I regret, is that we lost touch for a couple of years. I am so happy to have got back in touch with you, even if it was for a short period of time. I miss you! xoxo

A great girl with a kind heart who is very missed, still. I remember the days seeing you dancing at the 'bu (and later at my wedding!), and the old days around the neighborhood. Hard to believe 10 years is gone. Rest well.

I miss you Laura. Life is not the same without you. It pains me each day knowing you are not here with me. I wish that it was September 9, 2001 and I asked you not to go to work but to go shopping with me for your new home but we cannot turn back the hands of time. You are with God and with all of our relatives and friends that have passed before me. I have to be thanksful that we were given 35 years with you and take comfort in knowing that we will be together again. I love and miss you terribly. Your sister Cathy

My favorite memory of Laura was the fun we had dancing at Malibu. We'd lost touch over the years and my heart sank when I heard she was missing on 9/11. God Bless her family and may she rest in peace.

To weep is to long for my beloved friend,
To speak often of, is to remember,
To smile is to share in the priceless memories,
In my heart, I shall always carry those precious memories,
For your life meant the world to me and you taught me so much.
You taught me to live, enjoy, cherish, laugh, dream and above all
To remember our time together.
God takes care of those who leave us: those who leave us, take care of us. Be happy that they will always be with us, watch over us, and give us the care, the strength and courage to go on when their lives were so short.
Be free Laura, I miss you very much.
love, your forever friend,

I worked with Laura for many years at Reliance National, was close with her sister Marie who I know struggles with her loss daily. Laura was such a sweet, sincere person who always made you smile. I think of you often and I would like to offer my deepest sympathy to her family and loved ones. I keep you in my daily prayers. God Bless you and may you Rest in Peace.

Laura - I've thought of you so often this past year, I guess it is fate I stumbled upon this site. Although I did not know you well, I knew a lot about you from my dad. He cares about you so much and he misses you. I so enjoyed the conversations we would have when I would call the office to speak to my dad. What a special person you are to deal with my dad for all those years! I know he thought of you like a daughter. He argued with you the same way he argues with me. I just wanted to let you know we think of you often and our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Love, Laurie Owens

We are very sorry for your loss of Laura. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn

Hey Laura (Cookie),
You've suddenly gone away to the place where you can't come home. I don't understand. I do know you wont return. But I couldnt grasp you when you went on a journey from the world.
After youve left me, joy closed its door to me. In this lonely place Im just holding onto memories of you.
I can't regain my smile without recourse to you. I don't want another friend who will take your place, I need only you
You know it's so hard for me to say good bye. Someday if I do forget you, then that day is to be the end of my life. For I will never forget your smile and your endless hugs. I miss you and think of you constantly.
Love and Kisses,
Christine
