My sincere condolences to the Jardim family. I have such fond memories of Mark from the times we shared during our freshman and sophomore years at USM. Mark was truly an exceptional guy and I will never forget his smile, his laugh, his love of life. He was the guy we all wanted to be. A true inspiration who lives on in our memories.

Mark, I miss you and think of you often. We had so many great times in Boston. I can't believe it's been seven years. Every Oct in Cheshire CT we celebrate your life at the MJMJ (mark jardim memorial jog). Friends, family and people that don't know you gather in your memory. Every year Jay thanks everyone for coming and spends a few moments talking about you. We also have a moment of slience in your memory. It's an emotional day filled with so much love and story telling. ( there are some good ones) Everyone misses you so much. Jay and Kim's twin boy's Mark and Steven are such a joy and they know so much about you and how special you are. Everyone in Cheshire CT misses you and prays for you and your family.

I was a colleague of Mark's at the time of his passing. Upon my being hired at Scudder, Stevens and Clark back in 1994, my boss joked that she only hired me to be a companion to Mark, who was the only male manager on her team at the time. I often think fondly of Mark and my early days at Scudder. He was always upbeat and smiling, and had a knack for making me laugh. I considered myself blessed to have known him, and I send my best wishes to Mark's family.
Sincerely

I went to high school with Mark. He was a great guy who had a lot of friends and always had a smile and a quick wit.
I found out about Mark's passing a week or two after 9/11 from friends I keep in contact with who were also classmates. As horrifying as the events of 9/11 were, the enormity of the tragedy didn't hit home until I realized that I was touched in very personal way, losing a good friend.

I just found this site today, 9/11/2007, and I'm glad I did. My thoughts and prayers are with Kim and all of Mark's family on this 6th anniversary of his passing and to let them know that Mark will never be forgotten. He was that special.

I worked with Mark at Scudder, Steven & Clark, oh so many years ago. I remember an even-keeled person who always listened to the whole story. He is missed. Even 5 years later.

To Mark's Family,

Please accept my condolences. I was Mark's roommate at the University of Southern Maine and he was my best man when I got married.

I just found out about his death yesterday. I was attempting to locate his address to make contact with him; we hadn't spoken in many years but not many days went by without thinking of Mark.

He was a good friend and even though we lost touch I still considered him a friend. I regret I did not contact him sooner.

Please correspond if you wish, I would like to know what his life was like after we lost touch.

God Bless

These thoughts are for Mrs. Jardim. Dear Jennifer, I often think of you, and my heart bleeds thinking of a young wife without her beloved husband and young children without their beloved father.
I used to work for Scudder in the Human Resources Department, and use to arrange interview meetings between candidates and Mark all the time. I always remember Mark Jardim as a true professional, a very Gentle man, and his impecable ways he always dressed. Everyone who worked for him, loved working for him. I am sorry he is not with us anymore, but he will always be in the hearts of those whom he touched.
May God bless you and your family, and may He continue to give you endurance and his strength.
Sincerely,
Laura M. Friedman (Scudder Stevens & Clark)

Dear Mark,

I have thought of you many times over the past 2 years and it has never been without a silent prayer for you, your wife, family and friends. I will always remember your warmth, kindness and professionalism when we worked at Scudder Stevens & Clark in the same department. You are missed and always will be. May God be with you always.

Dear Mark,

I can't believe it is 2 years since that awful day. So much has happened and yet it seems as if nothing good has happened. I think of you often and wonder what you would have thought of all the happened at work. I know the world is not as good without you in it. I try to be more positive like you always were even when it is easier to be negative. I think of you having a great time in heaven drinking a beer, playing softball and laughing. May the lord give peace and love to your family today and everyday.

Mark, you are one of the finest young men I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Your presence in the lives of our family has remained a fond memory. My last conversation with you before you left Marblehead was filled with your usual kindness and generosity of spirit. We lost touch and because of this we did not know what happened to you until last night. Until then, thinking of you or speaking of you occasionally was pleasant because it was always possible that we would see you again. Now we know that has been taken away and our grief is still brand new. We are poorer for having lost you and richer for having known you. We will not forget you.
Love, Anna Barbara

A tear come to my eye when I heard the news. No words can express the sorrow and greif. I will always remember the good times we had as we ran track in high school together and the unique bond we had because our fathers worked together. May god be with you and your family.

Dear Mark,

We found out just yesterday that my wife (who lost her brother) will be reading fourteen names at the 911 ceremony in NYC. Yours was one of them.

I decided to do a little research into the fourteen people and ended up here because there was not a lot of newsprint information about Mark. At first I wondered whether you had family or friends here. After reading these warm rememberences it's clear you have friends who miss you and care about you deeply.

God bless you Mark.

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
