ive been researching the tragedy recently and yours was the first openly LGBT story i found, and you worked at a prestigious firm & had a family but never got to see your partnership become legal (if you wanted it to) and for that i am so, so, sorry Ms. Barrett-Arjune. I hope surviving that month allowed you to see your loved ones. i hope they think of you with more joy than sadness.

God bless her and her family. Had I known about this sooner, I definitely would have shown up long ago. I met her just a few times, but she was definitely nice and had a sense of humor. Her son is one of my best friends, and I know she would be so proud of him today

Renee was a bright and knowledgeable woman whom I knew in a professional context. She commuted to New York and was an inspiration to many. May her family and friends find inspiration from her many fine qualities.

Warm Summer Sun

Warm summer sun,
Shine kindly here,
Warm southern wind,
Blow softly here.
Green sod above,
Lie light, lie light.
Good night, dear heart,
Good night, good night.

I did not know that Renee was one of the victims until yesterday when I did not go to work, and watched them announce the names of the victims. I'm still in shock. I knew Renee very well, and her son Eddie. I do not have any pictures of Renee, but I do have a Bible that was given to me from Renee and inscribed by her. My prayers go out to her family. I pray that she is at peace and Eddie is doing well. I am so saddened by this news that she was a victim of such a heinous crime. She has been gone for 6 years now, and I am mourning her death. May God bless her partner and family.

Although I didn't know her personally, I still feel Renee is a member of my community. I would like to see a picture of Renee. If anyone could supply one, I'd like to add it to my own 9/11 memorial site.

As we approach the second anniversary of 9/11, in 2003, it is my hope that this sort of terrorism will have disappeared. I still can't fathom what it must be like for the survivors!

For those of us who knew her, the word "unknown" which takes up residence in her profile is a shock that fills us with a sense of disquiet. Renee was a joy to work with - fierce, independent, determined and sharp - she knew her stuff! She was filled with a generosity of spirit that is rare in today's world, and with a joie de vivre that was enviable, enriching and inspiring. Renee, you lent others your strength and you will never know how much you were appreciated for your singular willingness to share pain and give the gift of laughter. I pray that you are with the angels and that God will bless your family with peace, strength and hope for the future. I hope you are laughing in heaven. Thank you for caring.

I remember Renee' as a strong, fiercely independant, opinionated woman, with a big heart, and an easy laugh. You never wondered where you stood with her, and I admired that. She was always warm to me, and I miss her smile.

I read Renee's story in LC, and want to send my support and caring. Such a triumph, that she managed to escape the building, and such a tragedy, that she endind up not making it. I can't imagine the ups and downs, hopes and fears, that her family and friends must have gone thru. My heartfelt prayers and wishes for peace and relief go to her partner Enid, and son Eddie.

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
