My dearest brother Chucky...
Another year and another sad day...23 years and the pain is still in my heart...I know you would tell me not to be sad that you´re ok and you want me to be ok. I miss you so much...You and Brenda have raised the most incredible children now adults with their own children...and like you and Brenda were..they are amazing parents. Demetrius, Alexis and Jonathan now have their own children, Jeslee, Lexington, Mila and Jonathan Jr. and they have wonderful spouses...Ayeshia, Al and Brittney ..The children are beautiful and very smart. I wish you could have met them but I know you are looking down on them. I spoke to Brenda today and she is still so sad and I know she misses you so much! Wayne and I are hanging in there and staying close to each other. I know you are taking care of Mommy and Michael....My son Clenton Jr talks about you and misses you. I Miss you all so muchLove you Chucky

Good Morning Chucky...
This is your sister Nadine. 22 years later and the pain is still here. I think of you all the time. Your children have grown up so beautifully and you would be so proud of them. You now have 4 beautiful grandchildren. Three girls and one boy. They are amazing. Brenda is hanging in there as well. We all miss you but know you are with mommy, Mike and the rest of the family. Chucky I miss you so much and wish you were here with us. You will always be in my heart and I thank you for being like a father to me because you had a major role in me being the person I am today. I went to elementary school and Jr HS with Chucky. We rode the train and bus together for several years. Chucky was always kind and generous to the guys on the block. I lived across from his building 815 Hicks. I saw how he cared for his sister and two brothers. When we graduate HS Chucky was accepted to Automotive HS and i went to John Jay. I later moved to long Island and lost contact with Chucky and the guys. Thank you Chucky for your Friendship growing up in RedHook.

I also remember Chucky Goody, I came across this photo of Chucky and Brenda, it was captured on one of the few trips organized by some of his friends, most of whom also, didn't remember their birthdays, back in the day. I was deeply saddened to learn, many years after the fact, the he was one of the many victims of that fateful day September 11, 2001. He and Brenda are certainly in Jehovah's memory, I have faith that they will be remembered in the resurrection.

20 years later and the pain is still there. I miss you so much and think about you all the time. You have 3 beautiful granddaughters that you would have fallen in love with. Your children, Demetrius, Alexis and Jonathan are doing well and you would be very proud of them. You and Brenda did an excellent job raising them. You also have 2 daughters-in-law and 1 son-in law whom you would love. I know you´re there taking care of mommy, aunt Edna and Michael. Wayne and I miss you all so much and want to thank you again for not only being our big brother but also stepping up being more like a father to all of us!
I love and miss you my brother!

Today I am thinking of my dear friend Harry as I always do on this day. It is funny how you remember things about people. Today I recalled an expression that Harry used to say. Sometimes when he would explain a Bible truth and he was trying to relate it to something familiar he would end it with the phrase, " It's the same but different."
Thinking about the world I'm sure that Harry would say that it is the same. After the initial shock of 9/11 things returned to the way they had been. Some things have gotten worse. But things are different too. Very very different without Harry's loving smile, his extra sharp cheddar cheese, his down to earth counsel, and his reassuring words. I do miss him and things are not the same without him.
Things are the same in another respect too. The answer and solution to the world's problems are still the same. Only God's Kingdom can bring lasting peace.(Dan. 2:44; Matt. 6:9,10; Rev. 21:3,4) The hope of seeing Harry again when he is resurrected in Paradise. (John 5:28,29; John 11:39-44; Job 14:13-15) These truths seem to help me when I start feeling down on 9/11.
My love goes out to Brenda, Alexis, Demetrius, and Johnathan. I hope that you are all doing well and thriving spiritually.
Love,
D.Welch

I'll always remember Uncle Chucky for having the best jokes, and forever being able to make everyone laugh. It's hard to look around at some of the family gatherings and not see him there, or hear him laughing. Uncle Chucky will always be in my heart and my memories, but I find comfort in knowing that Jehovah is watching over Aunt Brenda, Alexis, Johnathan, and Demetrius.I love you guys and stay strong (that's what Uncle Chucky would want :))

Just wanted you to know I still remember our laughs together. I notice no one mentioned the Zimas and the cartoons. I still laugh at 'The Critic'. I'll check in every now-and-then and I'm sure you're watching over our progress.

As a part of a local tribute on the second anniversary of 9-11 flags were flown for each victim. I purchased a flag today and was given the name Harry Goody. That is the person the flag was flown in honor of. I didn't pick just the first flag I came to, but one that seem to be calling me over. I had no choice in who my flag was flown for either. I am proud to have this flag in Mr. Goody's honor. We are about the same age and I have a daughter named Alexa who is 24.

Until I heard of the death of my friend Harry "Chucky" Goody from my brother in the summer of 2002, the tragedy of the WTC bombing did not hit me very hard. I felt the pain of the people who lost a loved one in the bombing, and I thought, "Of all those people, what if someone I knew was in those buildings and I didn't even know...maybe someone I knew growing up and hadn't seen for years, or couldn't remember their name?" When i heard about Harry, I was devastated. The reality of 9/11 really hit home with me. I couldn't believe it until I saw the Times article.
Harry was a good friend of mine. We used to play golf (one club, one ball, and one hole dug into the ground) together as kids in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Harry was always upbeat, and, even though he was older than I was, he didn't mind playing with me or the other younger guys on the block.
Although I hadn't seen Harry in quite a few years, I was proud of his accomplishments and happy to hear that he was doing well. My heart goes out to his family and friends, and my prayers go out for his children. We will miss you, "Chucky."

To the Harry Goody III Family--
On September 11, 2002, I brought my copy of the New York Times Portraits to my synagogue so that members of our congregation could select a person to especially honor if they wished. At random, I selected Harry Goody. Because our son is a passionate nationally ranked mountain biker, and both I and my deceased father are and were huge science fiction fans, I felt I was brought to Mr. Goody's story on purpose. I have been especially moved to read the many other tributes to him. Even as a stranger, I grieve with you and your family and from now on will include Harry Goody as a part of our family in my prayers. May God's peace be with all of you. My name is Jenn, and I am a student at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. On September 11, 2002, we held a memorial ceremony for the victims of the attacks one year ago. Each of us had the opportunity to draw a name of one of the victims out of a box. The name that I drew was Harry Goody. Until yesterday, I never knew that he even existed, but I want you to know that from now on, he will be in my prayers. I never knew him personally, but he will not be forgotten. God bless you and your family.

To All the Goody Family
My heart goes out to you Brenda and your children and the rest of the Goody family. I also lost a loved one at the WTC, my daughters father, who worked in Tower 1 so I also know and feel the pain. I grew up with Chuckie and the rest of his cousins. Me and my brothers Reggie and Butch was considered cousins. My mom Teda and his mom and aunt grew up together. So we were like family. I met you Brenda and your kids when they were still young, Reggie and I came by your place in Brooklyn. It was a pleasure to meet you and see Chuckie and your kids. I think at that time you was still pregnant with one of your children. You probably dont even remember, but I still do. I do know that my brother Reggie would come by your place and visit. I know you'll all had such a good time together. I am sorry for your lost and sorry that I could not attend his memorial service, my daughters father's memorial service was the same day. I believe that we all must live our lives the way Chuckie and my daughter father Louie would have wanted us to, to be strong, to be happy, and to keep praying. I will keep you and all the Goody family in my prays. May God be with you and your always.

May the Mercy and Blessings be upon the entire Goody Family.
Chucky, as I remember him was also a good guy. His family can certainly be proud of him. He was from the start not a troubled person at all, and growing up in the hood could make it bad. Through the grace and mercy of the Creator. Chucky made a good life for he and his family. May you all remember him and cherist his memories of being all that he could be.

Chuckie,
From this day going forward, I am determined with the strength of Jehovah, to no longer let my heart be filled with pain and sorrow. I will always remember the love, joy, laughter, smiles shared, and all of our private jokes/moments that we shared with each other showing how much we cared and loved each another. As I am writing this, I am now drying my eyes as I am so very happy that you and I were a part of each others lives. Your wife/Brenda

To the Goody Family,
Our prayers are with you in this most difficult time.
Chucky and Brenda were one of the few neighbors to greet us when we moved to Warbasse 8 years ago and rejoiced with us when we were blessed by God with our son, Keysean.
Although their friendship was a brief 3 years, Chucky made quite an impact on him and he misses him terribly.
On behalf of our son, remember to "look to the hills from which cometh your help, your help cometh from the Lord"
May God continue to shine his light on you.
With love

To the Family of Mr. Harry Goody,
I extend my heartfelt sympathy to all of you in this great loss. Believe it or not, I met Harry more than 25 years ago. I was a high school student with a summer job at NYU Medical Center and he worked there in the Radioisotopes Department. When I saw his name and his picture, I knew it was the same person and though I had not seen him since that time, I felt a great sense of loss.
I pray that God will continue to strengthen you all. God is our refuge and strength; a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1

We are deeply sorry for your loss of Harry. May Harry's life and love (along with his love for bike riding and sci-fi action) live on in those who love him. I am tremendously sorry your love cannot bring him back but may his love and spirit surround you with the warmth to bring you comfort. May you always feel his love radiate into your hearts. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
