A few months after 9/11, I traveled from Minneapolis to NYC and went to Ground Zero. I also spent time at Grand Central, reading all of the heartbreaking flyers that were still up, asking if we´d seen so many loved ones that hadn´t been found. At the time I was 31, a mother of two, and I zoomed in on one poster in particular-Rosemarie Carlson. I don´t know why. Maybe because there are so many Carlsons in Minnesota. Maybe it was her beautiful photo or the fact that she had six children at home missing her. My heart broke open for her and those children that day, and every year on 9/11, Rosemarie is who I look up. I´m so sorry for your loss, all of you who loved her, especially her children. I can´t imagine what life has been like for you since that day. But if it´s any consolation, there have been people like me who think of you all, and it´s lovely to see that Rosemarie´s bright spirit clearly lives on. Blessings to you and your families on this memorable day, and every day.

Mommy -

I´m at a point in my life where I need You more than ever. I wish I could just have 1 last conversation with You. Please continue to watch over all of us, I miss u so much and wish You were here. I was too young to really get to know the person you were, but from what I can remember I was absolutely attached to You and wouldn´t leave your side. From the stories I´ve heard you sounded like You were the most loving, hard working mother who always put her family first no matter the circumstances and always worked towards Your goals while making sure all 6 of us had the best life You could offer. Even though I don´t have much memories of You, at least I was left with your pictures and all your beautiful smiles. I wish you were here , You were filled with so much love. Your smile looked like it brightened up the room as soon as You walked in , I know it brightens up my mood when I see pictures of You. I would give anything to have you back in our life. Please continue to watch over all of us , You would be such an amazing grandmother and I just know You would be so proud of all your beautiful grandchildren and how they´ve grown up. I hope to one day to love my future children as much as You loved us and even be half the person You were. I can´t wait to meet You one day and get to really know You ,

I love You , please continue rest in the sweetest peace

20 years ago a young lad by the name of Danny showed up for another day at Metroplitan Baptist Academy in Brooklyn. Little did we know what was to unfold that day. Danny was his cheerful self looking forward to making us all laugh and enjoy another day at school. His mother, Rosemarie, had instructed him well in respect and obedience. When word came that the Twin Towers had been attacked, my prayers went out for Rosemarie and all the others who were in the towers. Little did we realize what the final outcome was to be. I also prayed for wisdom in being a comforter and encourager to Danny when updates were received. I only knew Rosemarie for a short period of time, but as Danny said, " You loved us beyond comprehension. You were a hero to every single one of us. Steve, Kimmy, Jamie, Crystal, Evita and I are who we are because of you. You were strong. We are strong. You may be gone but you’re with us in spirit forever." This truly sums up Rosemarie's life, and her childre are a legacy of that care and compassion. May God bless you all and may you keep walking on the right path everyday as a tribute to the memory of a wonderful Mother.

Everyone always needs a mother to cry to, talk to, laugh with, just putting your head on her shoulder while she tells you everything will be ok, getting the best advice from. Many people don't realize how special a mother is and how important she is. A mother is the only one that will truly make you feel loved, important, special, when your hurt she knows how too make you feel better, a mother will defend her children to the fullest and always have there back.
20 years and it feels like yesterday i gave her a kiss good bye and didn't know that was going to be the last time i would ever see her again. her beautiful laugh, beautiful voice, her funny sense of humor. She was such beautiful mother and women, she loved her children unconditionally and she was taken so young. My mother will always live in all her children and her beautiful grandchildren. She is truly missed bye so many. Everyone that new my mother or even people that didn't know her and just hard us talking about our memory's of her knows how special she was. I know the day will come when we will see you again. Love and miss you so much my beautiful mommy. Rosemarie c. Carlson
To all who lost there lives on 9/11
You will always be remembered and missed dearly. Love your second oldest daughter crystal.

20 years ago you woke up and got dressed for work not thinking that you would never wake up again. You worked hard for all 6 of your children so they can have the life you wanted them to have. You loved us beyond comprehension. You were a hero to every single one of us. Steve, Kimmy, Jamie, Crystal, Evita and I are who we are because of you. You were strong. We are strong. You may be gone but you’re with us in spirit forever. I write this so everyone can know your story and who you were. You were the strongest mother ever. You were a warrior. You are an angel. Watch over us and your grandchildren and keep us on the right path everyday.

I never knew you, but I know I have a wife named Kimberly and you have a daughter named Kimberly who misses you every day. As the years go by, people's lives go on, even with this heart-ache from the past. Those of us who were alive on that day as we watched the tragedy unfold on TV, we remember you and the countless others who needlessly lost their lives during this tragic event. We vowed to never forget, and we will not forget. My prayers today will specifically ask God to bless your family and friends in a special way, and to give them a 'hug from above'. Much love from Texas...

My name is Heidi Bauer-Pollard. My brother, W. David Bauer, was also killed on 9/11. He worked for Cantor. We went to Mass this morning and our church asked us to pick (out of a jar) name of victims to pray for today. I chose Rosemarie C. Carlson. I googled her immediately and read so many great things about her. What a great mother! I hope her six children are doing well and I am praying for them too. God Bless....Heidi Bauer-Pollard

Hey Mommy,

I have the greatest news. You have a grandson. He has blond hair and hazel eyes just like you! He's 10 months old now. I keep your pictures in his room so that he can memorize your face and I'll make sure he calls you "Nonna" like you had said you wanted. :)
I know the love you were telling me about now. My heart is swollen with it. He fills my life with unbelievable happiness. I just hope that I can be as good a mother as you were. I hope I can raise him to be a good man. I hope that he will love me as much as we love you. I hope he can feel your love through me. And I will tell him all about you so that he will know you and keep you in his heart also.
I miss you so much but we'll see each other soon. I'll love you forever.

May her soul rest in peace,
May your sorrow fade with time;
May you find happiness through memories,
And treasure the time you shared.

Her love for us endures,
Her laughter echoes in our ears;
Her presence will never be far,
And her kindness will always be felt in our soul.

She will be missed,
She will be remembered;
She will be watching us from up above,
And will always be there by our side.

Our memories and love for her will never fade,
She will always be in our hearts;
By you and all of us,
Forever and always.

Nature

As a fond mother, when the day is o'er,
Leads by the hand her little child to bed,
Half willing, half reluctant to be led,
And leave his broken playthings on the floor,
Still gazing at them through the open door,
Nor wholly reassured and comforted
By promises of others in their stead,
Which, though more splendid, may not please him more;
So Nature deals with us, and takes away
Our playthings one by one, and by the hand
Leads us to rest so gently, that we go
Scarce knowing if we wish to go or stay,
Being too full of sleep to understand
How far the unknown transcends the what we know.

Rosemarie,

I did not even know you were in the office with Bisi and the other ladies that horrific day. Once I got home that evening Kenny told me you were in the office with them. I could not believe my ears. I thought it was a mistake. I thought of your children and wondered who was going to care for them. When I spoke to the Missing Persons Unit I made sure I gave all of your names to them. We were not only looking for Bisi, we were looking for all of you. We know you ladies were all together and looked after one another. You were a great bunch and we love and miss all of you. God will watch over your children and you. God bless you.

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
